I am a past client of this provider
We used Home Care Assistance of Albuquerque for over 3 years. For the most part this company is pretty good. We 24/7 care and did have problems with many of the caregivers not being qualified or willing to do the work of caring for our Mother and Father. Many of them were just plain LAZY and didn't know how to do transfers from the bed or chair to wheelchair and back. Some didn't even know how to use a gait belt. One caregiver said that she was trained but I found out that she didn't even know how to transfer a patient or change their diapers. She was training herself by using YouTube. The evening shift is tough but many of the caregivers fell asleep on the job and were unable to give the care Mom and Dad required. We had to put a camera in the bedroom after Mom fell out of bed because the caregiver forgot to put the railing up. I can't tell you how many caregivers were never again allowed at our parents home, too many to count and they told us that everyone they hired had incredible backgrounds. I blame them for our Father's death. The caregiver was supposed to be awake and checking on him throughout the night but she was sound asleep and didn't hear him when he rang his bell and needed help getting up. He ended getting up by himself, fell, hit his head, and called out for help for 1-2 minutes. He passed away two weeks later. They will lie to you any chance they get just so they can keep taking your money. If for some reason you do use this company, which we don't recommend, ask that Julie or Stephanie be your caregivers. They are amazing women that know exactly what to do in any situation.

Have used this agency for over two years for my Mom's live-in care. The initial experience was fairly positive. However, this has changed over the past year or so. They started decreasing our primary caregivers days, so that now some weeks she will only be working three days instead of the five we started with. They have also had great problems with providing a suitable weekend caregiver, giving little or no consideration to how the personalities will mesh. They also have provided people who barely met even the basic qualifications. Just last week they sent a caregiver that didn't even know how to do a bed to wheelchair transfer, didn't know what a gate/transfer belt was, and was just physically too small to provide the physical assistance my Mom's requires. Unfortunately, this was not the first time they sent such a poorly qualified "caregiver". Steer clear of the company, they will try to sweet talk you with half truths and manipulations. I have given them the benefit of the doubt for way too long. I'm at this site to help me with my market research.
Good Friend Neighbor November 08, 2013
Home Care Assistance of Albuquerque helped my good friend Eve for the last year and the professional caregivers were by her side helping her through her journey. Very professional and compassionate service and no worries about private hired workers exploiting Eve. Thank you Home Care Assistance.
