Reviews of Saint Francis Hospice | Tulsa, OK

Please go somewhere else. My mother had horrid care in their hands. I totally blame them for not seeing on my mom's medical chart that she was allergic to morphine! They supposedly reviewed all medicines and put her on the bare minimum. Why didn't this raise a red flag with them when morphine is the drug of choice for pain meds! Had it not been for her skilled nursing center, there would have been no nursing care at all. They were hardly ever there! And on her final day, we saw them at 6:30 AM in the morning to try and explain the pain med screw up. The next time we saw them was 45 minutes after my mom passed at 6 PM! This is not acceptable. Especially when we were told they would be there around the clock in your final hours.
When the hospice nurse finally did show up, she started asking random ?'s about what sent my 99 year old mother to the hospital in the first place. She had suffered a stroke and some recent falls were questioned. We clearly told her we didn't want to get the medical examiner board involved since she had been in a skilled nursing facility. She assured us they wouldn't be involved. A couple of days later, we received a call from the medical examiners board stating that we needed to send my mother to the morgue so they could examine her. After calling Hospice they claimed this was protocal. We had to get an attorney involved to resolve this situation.
Please contact someone else when you need hospice care for a loved one. Wished I had read the reviews before choosing them.

The nursing staff will consult with the physicians without discussing any client information with the family. For example, they will discontinue medicines that are important for the patient without communcating with the family. A life threatening situation occurred that required hospitalization. Please find other assistance!

My Mom has lung cancer, and instead of treatment my mom and dad decided to get her on hospice. One of the first questions I would ask is, how long are there visits scheduled for. The nurse my mom has will not answer any of are questions, she told my mom and I she didnt have time to explain the question we were asking. This nurse treats my mom like she's a drug addict and never listens to what we're trying to tell her, she talks about other patients and other things she could be doing, she has never examined my mom!! So check out who your nurse is and know it's there job to listen and keep your loved one out of pain!! Don't be afraid to contact the doctor and voice your concerns, and ask for a different nurse if need be, this is about keeping are loved one's from suffering and helping them to know we will get the care they need

I am a past client of this provider
I could not have asked for better care for my brother. He arrived from out of state, where I'd gone to retrieve him after learning he was hospitalized. He was a candidate for palliative care only, and he was destitute. I don't believe he could have received better care and support had he been wealthy and a long time resident of the vicinity. My gratitude to St. Francis Hospice regarding the dignity and compassion extended to my brother is beyond my ability to express. Thank you for a peaceful ending.
