Don't use Cornerstone Hospice for in home care. From the beginning, they totally failed to deliver what they promised, I activated my signed contracts on Friday morning, but it took Cornerstone until 3 PM Sunday to transport my dying wife home from the hospital. Poor service and lack of compassion were the rule of the day in the early stages of home care. I did finally find three caring individuals [ 2 nurses and a home health aid], but you can NOT specify who comes to your home. To add insult to injury, once my wife passed it took two days to remove the bed and oxygen equipment. Cornerstone didn't do it, I had to call the equipment rental company and arrange it myself. Lastly, I received a package by overnight FedEx for special wound care; package was prepared and sent more than five hours after my wife passed away! It is apparent to me that this company is only interested in one thing - INSURANCE MONEY. Find someone else to care for your loved one.

I can not tell you how sad and disgusted I am with Cornerstone Hospice. I choose this Hospice because of the decent reviews. From beginning to end my husband and I dealt with an absolute nightmare of a Hospice. Day one my mom came home and Clermont rehab announced that my poor mom had leaking legs, she was in kidney and heart failure among many other problems, plus Dementia. Why she didn't qualify for in house Hospice I will never know but the Cornerstone nurse said no, I had a good conversation with her and she is doing well! Really? my mom died 5 days after she got home, so much for doing well. The worst thing was, her enrolling nurse came in and told us, 'did you know your mom is COVID19 positive". we told her no, Clermont rehab said she was not. My mom was sitting there listening to this nurse telling us she had COVID, my dear mom asked the nurse why she was sent home if she was COVID positive, I don't want to infect my family. I just broke down crying, After this enrolling nurse could not find any paper work that my mom was indeed positive she decided, well, they put your mom down as positive because she came from a positive facility, I called Clermont Rehab and they told me my mom did NOT have Covid19 and they would correct Cornerstone. The last five days of my moms life were horrible We tried so hard to make her comfortable with practically NO help from Cornerstone. The first day and night we were left with my mom in terrible pain and crying at night in pain and having hallucinations, I begged for someone to help and the nurse you call to get help told me that since my mom tested positive for Covid they could not send an aid, only a nurse and there where no nurses available. My mom weighed 200 pounds, mostly water weight and we tried our best to change her depends and clean her bed, my mom cried every time we tried to move her. Finally the third night we got a night nurse over who was lovely, she checked on my mom, she checked her vitals and told my husband and I that my poor mom NEEDED to be in their hospice. She tried to get pain medication called in and we finally got Tramadol and Gabapentin. My mom slept a bit better after begging for pain relief for 3 days . The fourth day was heartbreaking for my family, my mom slid down her bed and my husband and son tried to get her into a better position for comfort but could not move her. I again begged for help from Cornerstone and they said that if we could not lift my mom how could they? I was crying again and said what do I do, my mom is falling off the bed. The call nurse said call 911 and tell them that we need fall lift assist and that my mom was a Hospice patient. I did, three huge paramedics came in and looked at my mom and said there is no way she should be at our house, that we should ask for a re-evaluation. I leaned over and kissed my mom and told her that these men were going to lift her to make her more comfortable, They lifted her up the bed and again she screamed out in pain and tears were coming out of her eyes. Our family went thru hell because this Hospice really did NOTHING to help mainly her pain. On the 5th day my mom was sleeping peacefully but moaning, I called Hospice for about the twentieth time and broke down, could not even talk so my husband did, he spoke to a **** and she said she would try and get my mom re-evaluated in the next few days. We mentioned my mom was moaning while she slept , no response but that's when **** said she would try and get an evaluation again. If I'd only known what I know now about this Cornerstone Hospice, The last 2 days of my moms life I called them over and over telling them I think my mom is dying. They promised nurses that never showed, 3 times. In 5 days we had one enrolling nurse who was very prompt but terrified all of us and with out the proper information told us my mom had COVID, she did not! She tested negative at Clermont Rehab. She also upset my mom with that false information. We had one day nurse *****, who tried to show us how to change my mom and clean her bed but she was struggling to do it plus she had NO supplies like diapers, wipes etc, bandages for my moms weeping legs, I went out and bought everything. We had a night nurse **** who helped us the most and was very kind. In the end my mom died with her family and I hope had no pain and was at peace. We reported her death to Hospice and a nurse came over to pronounce her dead and left. Four days later we got a call asking if we wanted counseling. We declined! I never knew a Hospice could be so uncaring and unkind! There was one nurse who I apparently cant name who went on her break and talked to me for an hour to calm me down, I hope she knows who she is because she is a Cornerstone angle in my eyes! I thank this one person with all my heart. I give Cornerstone a ZERO!

If I could give a rating of ZERO I would. My husband was at in home care hospice, the first night there were no med given to us and husband was out of control. He fell on the floor and had to call emergency medical to come get him off the floor. Next day I demanded a nurse com out and evaluate him. I mentioned he needed to be in a hospice home because we could not handle him it was very hard to change his underwear as he was 250 pounds. He was only able to sit up in a chair because he couldn’t breathe. The nurse came out and evaluated him and told us he had to be within death within 3 to 4 days finally got medicine for him but he was still restless. Next day I called the nurse again because he got worse and wanted him in a hospice home the nurse again stated that he had to be within death of 3 to 4 days didn’t really evaluate them at all just stood there and looked at him. Two hours later he died. This place was not compassionate or caring whatsoever. Please stay away from this place.

I was very disappointed in Cornerstone In Home Hospice care. They came for 30 minutes 2 or 3 times a week. First, I never received the comfort package for my mother that was supposed to be received no later than the second visit. I told them a week before my mother passed that I had never received it. In fact, I eventually did receive it AFTER she passed away. Because of this, I was left to scramble for hard to obtain drugs to make my mother more comfortable at the end. Second, they often told me things that never came to pass such as doctor visits. My mother was finally seen by one of their doctors one hour before she passed away. Third, my mother was left in pain from cancer everywhere because they did not believe me when I told them my mother was in terrible pain and couldn’t swallow or keep down any of the pills they gave her. When eventually they did start believing me, she finally got the morphine a day or two before she passed. Third, we never received round the clock care for her until 11 hours before she passed. Many days before, I tried to tell them she was past the point of care that we were capable of as non-professionals but again, they did not believe me. When we finally did receive that care 11 hours before and needed an increase of morphine, the nurse stood by for hours while my mother was in agony rather than re-call the nurse who was supposed to follow up on this with the doctor. She was more worried about pissing off the slow to react nurses than my mother. I know other people have said wonderful things about hospice and how comfortable they make the patient in their last days but this was most not the case with this hospice. I recommend finding another in home hospice company.

negligent care, unprofessional staff & our loved one & family were provided with virtually no services. We terminated our contract with Cornerstone after 1am visits seemed to be the only time they could fit us in. I wish I could give 0 or negative rating. DO NOT USE THIS PROVIDER

I enrolled my Mom in this hospice in early 2012 but soon switched to another hospice due to the following reasons. On two occasions, I called the hospice to ask questions when my Mom was having trouble breathing. The person who answered the phone said a nurse would return my call; however no one ever called me. During the six weeks we were under their care, a Dr. never visited my Mom and the only RN she saw was the intake RN. We only saw LPNs and aides. The LPN never wore a name badge and appeared as if she just came off the street. Her hair was unkempt, her scrubs were dirty, and she had quite an unprofessional attitude. Her tennis shoes were soiled, unlaced and her scrub jacket had brown stains on the pockets where her dirty hands had soiled it. The hospice also sent a bunch of subcontracted aides who also were not clean. Most staff lacked compassion and even the team leader was rude when I told her I was discontinuing their services. You will be sorry if you use this hospice.

My father was a patient at cornerstone hospice; he passed away 4 days ago. This service promises that they will be with them when the critical moments come, he agonized for 18 hours and they never sent a nurse, they knew that he was about to die because they sent us the atropine for the death rattle noise and secretions but they never sent a nurse to watch him or administer any medication to calm him down, we, the family never knew what was going on. This company sells the service so great but they don't deliver, they don't have nurses working for them; they all are subcontractors, so difficult for them to get. They don't have enough people to take care of their patients, they are not ready for more patients. They won't give the comfort needed, they need to stop selling their services and start taking care of their clients.
