Residents in Mountain View (an independent living building at Covenant Village in Colorado) do not have access to air conditioning during hot days in the fall, winter and spring. With temperatures being 20 degrees above normal in February, the internal temperature of rooms and halls are pushing 80 degrees. This is a health issue for seniors who are often increasingly sensitive to heat and cold. The heating and a/c system are 20+ years old and need to be updated. The company seems to invest its money in cosmetics - ie a new pergola outside - and leave the hidden issues unaddressed. Residents are contractually promised a/c and heat.

We saw the Covenant Village of Colorado in Westminster. We were very impressed with that. We even put a deposit down because we thought we might go in that direction. The entire place is approximately 40 years old. It's been very well-maintained and we were impressed with the lady who led our tour through the place. We liked the situation of the duplexes so we put a deposit down. We looked at their independent living. Along with our visit and experiences we have with relatives who have been in this home, I would say we're very impressed. We have one relative who's still staying in independent living and one who had also stayed there in the past. I think our relative was the most active salesman for the place. He's very positive about his stay and he has lived there for 40 years so he's been there since they opened it and he's now in his 90s. It is expensive. Of all the places we looked at, it was the most expensive so you would have to have a reasonable income or savings to be able to afford it.

This is a horrible place. This is supposed to be non profit Christian. There is nothing Christ like or non profit. People are dying from covid and we caught staff in the room without PPE on. They put signs on her door saying under video surveillance. We facetime her and they don't like it because we see what they are NOT doing. They don't care for the residents. Staff keep getting sick too. They haven't cut toenails on 22 weeks. No bathing for 11 days straight. Not even a sponge bath. They are too concerned with money and not the residents. Used to have 3 activites a day. Now maybe one a week. They don't care.

I visited Covenant Village. It was excellent and beautiful, but my mother would not qualify to live there. The rooms were very nice, very clean, and laid out well for the seniors. I saw the activity room, but there was no activity going on. I saw the menu and it was a five.

Covenant Village was where my mother did rehab after hospitalization, and I would not recommend it. It was old and hadn’t been updated with anything; it was rundown. The nurse aides were inattentive. My mom was there for rehab, but she was refusing physical therapy, and she is paying out of pocket; nobody ever told us that she was refusing so we could have done something.

I visited Covenant Village of Colorado. I thought it was a really nice place. It was an old building, but it seemed to be well cared for, and the residents seemed to be pretty happy there. The dining room setup seemed to be pretty nice. They had two areas for dining, which was nice.
