Franke Tobey Jones was probably the biggest facility that we visited and, unfortunately, they didn’t have any openings at that time and had a waiting list to get in. We got a tour, but we pretty much had to eliminate it right away because we were under a time frame to try and get my parents-in-law to move out here. It was an older establishment, and it felt almost like a campus of a small university because they had a lot of large brick buildings and a gorgeous view of the bay here. It was quite nice and had lots of nice facilities. They have a university for the seniors. They call it a university where people come in and give talks, and it sounded very nice. Very nice young lady, and she had been working there for some point. Most of her family members had stayed there at different times, so it sounded like a nice woman to be in charge of that department. When we have called to talk to them about coming out for an appointment and told them that we were looking for a place for our parents and we had an immediate need, I wish they had said there was nothing available right now unless you want to get on the waiting list. We didn’t know that until we got there and started the tour, so it was kind of a pointless tour. They should have told us that upfront before we said that we’d come out to take a look.

I visited this facility
We visited Franke Tobey Jones Retirement Estates. It was a very nice visit. They're friendly people. It is a very impressive campus, and they offer not just apartments but also cottages. They also have an older section of apartments, and they have some beautiful garden apartments. The various alternatives that they give you for places to stay are extensive. They have green, well-maintained garden areas. They have education programs and very good activities.

I am/was a resident of this facility
We are living now in Franke Tobey Jones Retirement Estates and are very comfortable here in the assisted living building. We like it. The facility is beautiful. The meals are flexible and delicious. There are ample opportunities for activities. The people are interesting and friendly. The reasons we chose Franke Tobey Jones are because our insurance pays for this and it suits our needs. The apartment we have is exactly the right size and became available quickly. We like the location next to Point Defiance Park.

I visited this facility
Franke Tobey Jones was a nice facility. It was an older facility. I thought it was probably 30 or 40 years old. They had nice apartments and duplexes. They had lots of activities, and it was in a really nice location. It was really a well-respected retirement community. The staff was very helpful. They gave us the grand tour and even gave us an option on coming and spending 2 or 3 days there, and it was very pleasant. The food was good. They had a calendar they showed us of everything that was going on. They had cruises, local trips, and also internal activities. They had lots of clubs like gardening club and bridge club. They had lots of trips to local museums and stuff. It was a really nice campus.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
My Grandmother has lived at Tobey Jones for about two years now. I believe the whole facility has three separate buildings. Part is dedicated to independent seniors who live in their own apartments, and the rest is for people who need closer medical attention. My grandma has her own apartment with a kitchen, mainroom, bedroom, and bathroom, plus a outdoor balcony with a storage closet. She also has her own assigned parking space. She is very pleased with it and has no intention of moving anywhere else. She keeps active by attending art classes, participating in art shows, and attending concerts that are put on in the main building. The facility has a gym area with workout machines, and a cafe open for lunch with soups and sandwiches. I can't speak to the nightly food service, but I believe they have a dining room for those without a kitchen and she is free to eat there if she likes. Her apartment building has a lavish lobby sittingroom with a fireplace and a very friendly receptionist. The lawns and walkways are very clean and well-manicured with bushes and other plants. I have always felt comfortable visiting her there.
