I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My grandmother has moved into Plymouth Village. It's clean, and the staff are extremely friendly and nice. My grandmother is well taken care of. They're courteous, and they take care of their residents very well. My grandmother says that she gets three square meals a day and a snack. I haven't had food there, but I was told by my grandmother and the other residents there that the food is good. They have activities daily. They have movie days and music days, they have animals come through there from time to time, and it sounds like they get to go on field trips, too. Value for money is excellent.

Provider Response

Tasha, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your grandmother's experience at Plymouth Village. We appreciate your kind comments about our friendly and attentive team members, and are glad that she's enjoying the meals and activities at our community. We hope you have an opportunity to visit soon!

I visited this facility

I toured Plymouth Village. It was a very nice place. It was like a park -like setting. It's on 34 acres of land. They have all needs of care. They have exactly what we want with independent living. We're looking for a house. The staff was really friendly and good information. They have cottages; they don't have apartments. They have lots of activities. They have a pool, they have a gym, and they have outings. They have a lot of activities going on during the week. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly and informative. She took a lot of time and answered all our questions. They fed us lunch, and it was about a 4.

Provider Response

Plymouth Village is wonderful. Their staff is fantastic. They're helpful and my mother is getting very good care. According to her, the food is excellent and she really enjoyed it. The room she has is nice. It's a shared room and the nurses are very careful about the privacy of the residents. I really appreciate that. They draw the curtain every time they come and check in on her. They're very conscientious. They always make sure that the door is closed, so that people can't see when they're examining my mom and stuff. They gave her a bingo card, and she was able to play bingo in her bed. She really enjoyed that. They also have a nice little area where they do their activities.

Provider Response

Cammy, thank you for your positive review of our skilled nursing center at Plymouth Village. We’re glad to hear that your mother is receiving very good care, and appreciate your kind words about our team members, food and short-term rehabilitation services. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback, and we wish your mother all the best in her recovery.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Two days after moving into the SNIF, 98-year old FIL contracted COVID-19 along with 18 staff and 15 residents. No mention of attempting to track down who started the escalated infection rate. Communication from management was almost chipper. Dad died a few days later. Apparently a bus-driver was tasked with notifying my wife. He knew noting other than Dad was dead. Disposition of his remains remained a mystery for a month.

Provider Response

Merboi, we respectfully disagree with your characterization of your experience. You have posted the same review to multiple sites under different names, and not responded to our requests to connect with Julie Michaels, executive director of Plymouth Village. We would appreciate a chance to address your concerns directly.

I visited this facility

I have been to Plymouth Village Redlands. The one thing really nice about that place is when you want to move there, when you're in your later 60s, then they will care for you until the passing of your life. Once you move in the fee doesn't go up at all. I had gone there several times through my church, and we had done a lot of singing there and visiting there. We were together in small groups, and it seemed like people for the most part were pretty content with being there and the care and attention they were being given. The touring bus that they have there is always ready and open to take people to places in the evening time and the day time, not just here in Redlands, but even outside Redlands. We went to the dining room and it reminded me of my mother's and my grandmother's cooking, it's a huge variety, it's not repetitive of each other, week in and week out, and even month to month, it's very unusual, and very different. When we were all outside walking around, the staff all greeted us and welcomed us there.

Provider Response

Thank you for visiting Plymouth Village and for your positive review. We appreciate your comments about our warm and welcoming staff, and the quality of the food in our dining room. Regarding our fees, we want to be transparent and clarify that fees are subject to annual reviews and can go up over time. We would be happy to talk with you further, and you can also find more information online. Thank you for taking a few minutes to let us know how we're doing, and we look forward to welcoming you back on campus in the near future.

I was impressed with Plymouth Village because they had modernized it. You move in and can be there until the end because they have the ability to offer long-term care. If a person can afford this place, then it would be really nice. It's a place for people who can take care of themselves. You can get a golf cart to get around to the different places within the community. The thing I liked about it was if a couple moved in there and one got bedridden, they still had a place for that person and the other person could stay as well. Their dining hall was nice, neat, and clean. They had a very good variety of food. The staff was very good, and the place was nice and clean.

I visited this facility

Plymouth Village was a wonderful place, but it didn't suit my needs. The facility was on a large estate with individual houses suitable for couples, but not for single individuals such as myself. The staff was wonderful. I've eaten meals there and the food was good. The drawback for a single person is that you have to go to another building for meals and it's somewhat isolated. It's also very expensive to move in because it's a buy-in facility. They have full amenities.

We like Plymouth Village very much. We like the location. We enjoyed it very much. It was all separate homes for people who are very independent. Most people there still drive. It's a fairly large area, so they drive from their homes to the restaurant. The restaurant was excellent. We got a sample meal there and it was really great. They have an excellent dining room and a library. They provide transportation to the dining room if you need it. They also provide transportation to go to shopping and to other activities. They have a lot going for us.

Provider Response

Thank you for your feedback, Larry and Diane. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit and that our community and our amenities resonated with you. We believe in inspiring our residents to live their best lives possible and we hope that you'll learn more about who we are, and who our residents are, next time you visit. We look forward to seeing you again! Keith Kasin, executive director, Plymouth Village.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Hello I fell and broke my femur and shoulder on October 6 th. After my surgery and hospital stay I was transferred to Plymouth Village Rehab. My daughter knew what my needs were so she went to several top rated Rehabilitation Centers in our area. She walked thru each facility and met with their therapy department at each location. Plymouth Village ended up being my daughter’s first choice. I have been here 10 days now. When I first arrived I was helpless. I lost my ability to walk and had to keep my broken shoulder in a sling with no movement allowed. The past 10 days have been amazing. I’m now able to gain some of my independence back again. I have occupational and physical theraphy 5-6 days per week. When I finish each session I feel so uplifted. I felt all alone when this unplanned challenge came it me. The employees at Plymouth Village aren’t employees,. They are ANGELS! Thawandamcnk you for all the love you have given me! May God Bless you. Wanda McGinty I

The rehab portion of Plymouth Village is a disgrace. They discharged my mom before she was even partially rehabbed, then called Adult Protective Services on ME because I refused to sign paper work stating she was being "appropriately discharged." What a morally bankrupt thing to do! It would appear that Teresa, the administrator who orchestrated this, chooses spite over understanding. After visiting us and seeing the excellent care I was giving my mother, the APS social worker assigned to this bogus case took only minutes to close it and was stunned by what the facility had done to us. Shame on you, Plymouth Village.

Provider Response

Debbie, we understand this is a difficult time, and we tried to work with you on options that were available and would continue to serve you and your mother’s needs. Our team at the Village is extremely dedicated to the care and support of each of our residents. If you’d like to discuss your concerns further, please contact us by phone or we’d be happy to schedule an in-person meeting.

I visited this facility

Plymouth Village was a very different place because you can be independent and have your own little home all the way up to almost hospice care. It offered a lot for someone who is willing to stay there for a really long time, but it was quite expensive. I thought the staff people were very pleasant.

Provider Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Lucy. We do indeed offer a full spectrum of living options on our campus, including hospice services, and costs really depend on what specific requirements and supports a resident may need. I’d be happy to answer any additional questions you might have, or sit down with you next time you stop by for a visit.

Everything looks fine at Plymouth Village. They have more to offer than what we need. The food was fine. They have a lot of activities in that facility.

I visited this facility

The staff at Plymouth Village were very good and helpful. It's rated one of the best in the country. It's closer to downtown and a very inviting facility. They offer lots of activities. They have outside activities where people or couples can partake. I looked at a one bedroom residential unit and it's very large, spacious, clean, and very modern. It was very, very nice. The only downside of this facility is the cost. It's very expensive and I think that might be a hindrance to some people moving there,

I chose this place for my mother. They have a lower price and they provide meals. It is very small. The other places offer more than what my mother really needed. The place is clean and the staff is nice.

My visits have been very pleasant, there are always a number of staff members available to answer questions, my grandmother seemed very comfortable and much more relaxed than some of her recent stays in Redlands Community Hospital. The facility is clean and in good repair and it makes a wonderful use of the environment it is located utilizing the shade trees to create beautiful walking paths. When I asked my grandmother why she preferred Plymouth Village she explained the staff were the most courteous in comparison to other local assisted living centers and she was familiar with several of the nursing and physician staff and felt very confident in their ability to manage her condition. Parkinson's makes her very uncomfortable and her treatment requires a sincere effort at regular physical rehabilitation which she struggle to complete alone, she seemed more comfortable than anything else with the abilities of the staff to help her mobilize her body and follow through with her regular physical therapy. The rooms are very spacious and the staff were sensitive to my grandmother's request to be placed in a room alone even though it is obviously easier to pair patients in rooms together. The staff at Plymouth Village make a very sincere effort at making the guests as comfortable as possible.

Plymouth Village provides a wonderful environment for all levels of living with or without assistance. My mother lives in the independent duplexes but receives a small level of assistance with medication (beyond what that 'independent' level provides ~ which includes many things like house keeping, transportation, maintenance, etc). There are options to buy in and live there the remaining wonderful years of her life and be assured that she will be taken care of no matter what her financial situation comes to. Or, she can just rent month to month and be available to move elsewhere if she so chooses. The options are nice to have. The quality of service, food, activities and assistance with financial issues is very good. It is wonderful to hear from my Mom that she enjoys the community, the activities and the beautiful landscaping of that community. Her quality of life and health (mental and physical) has improved greatly with the consistent care and activity opportunities provided; activities that she would not be able to access if she lived completely alone in her own home. I highly recommend this community for any family or friend who would like to live in a beautiful, caring environment without the worries of living completely alone.
