I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have a friend who lives at Medford Leas. She is very happy with it. The staff is very pleasant, very knowledgeable, very helpful, and honest. There's a lot of walking between places. Most everybody seems to have a scooter or something like that to get around. They leave them outside their door to their apartments. It seems to be a community where there's virtually no theft of anything. They have groups that do sewing and ceramics. They have a pool and physical therapy. They have meals that you can have as a group or you can have them brought to your apartment. They have a small store where you can buy some things that you might need. It's just very expensive. The activities, the appearance, and the upkeep, were all a 5; however, the cost drags down the value.

I visited this facility

Medford Leas is a nice place and very lovely. They have everything there you could possibly want. They have 168 acres, and it’s a beautiful place. The rooms were large, airy, very accommodating, and attached to everything. You can just about walk to all of the amenities they have there. It was very nice, and we liked it. They have plenty of activities, and the amenities were more than appropriate and very nice. Regardless of what happens to you in life, you don't have to move again.

I visited this facility

I was not so impressed with Medford Leas Health Center. I wasn't shown the best samples. We visited people's homes, which seemed old and tired, but it has a wonderful reputation. People who live there absolutely adore it. I went back twice, and on my second visit, they showed me a room that overlooked what was supposed to be a garden, but there was a dump truck and a pile of rubbish. That didn't impress me too much. Also, their prices are very high, plus you pay taxes. They had some nice units. The common dining room was very nice and classy. The facility has been there for many years and has skilled nursing. It is extremely popular in Medford but it just wasn't for me. It was very quiet when I went there, but they do have a lot of trips and social things going on.

I visited this facility

Medford Leas is open to the public and they are located in the woods with emphasis on gardens and flowers. They have gardens that people go through but I am not happy with the idea that anytime there's somebody walking or driving and I do not feel secure and safe. It was very secluded and was not up on my list. There was a large distance to navigate between the apartments that I would qualify for and the main building, the community room or the dining room. There was a lot of travelling. People actually drove to go to the dining place. It was very spread out and that didn't appeal to me.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Medford Leas is in the middle of a spectacular arboretum. Every apartment has a park-like view, with sliding glass doors to the outside. The staff are fantastic. Everyone who visits my mother wants to stay, from young to old. Even for residents without a car, there are several buses a week to nearby shopping, and (less frequent) trips to cultural events in Philadelphia, etc. Lots of varied clubs and activities for those who want, or lots of privacy for residents who prefer it. A superb option for retirement.
