I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The facility while being beautiful hides the fact that there are many problems. Diabetics are served dinners that do not comply with a diabetic diet. There appears to be no nutritionist at the assisted living facility.while the minimal staff is wonderful with a few exceptions of some surly aids. The food is a major complaint with sandwiches such as fried baloney, turkey sandwiches, hot dog or hamburger for dinner. This is not nutritional fare. Rooms are well kept but patients are laying in bed with no outside stimulation. Not a place for a loved one. Buyer beware

I am/was a resident of this facility

I live in the independent living at Peabody Retirement Community. I like it very much. The people I live with around are very nice. The community itself is very nice/well taken care of. I would like to find some other community that maybe doesn't cost quite as much, and is maybe closer to the rest of my family. Fort Wayne would be better. I have a duplex. It's a two-bedroom with full kitchen. I would say it's about a thousand square feet, with a garage. The staff is very nice. I don't take advantage of the food very often because I have my own kitchen. Especially now with the pandemic, the independents don't mix in with the regular building. We don't go into the dining room anymore. The food is very good. I just don't take advantage of it very often. It's a beautiful facility, it's full service, and a continuum location. In other words, I am independent out here, but they offer the full services if I need to go inside for assisted living or healthcare. It's all here. They have buses to take us to meals and takeout food shops. They have a bingo or artwork, all kinds of things going on during the normal week, but of course, not now.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is at Peabody Retirement Community. They're very slow when getting things resolved, but the people who work directly with him are very caring and meet his needs. His room is clean and he is comfortable, but it took five weeks for him to get a phone, and it took just as long to get a fall alert necklace that he was supposed to have in his room when he checked in. He fell twice before he was given his alert necklace. He has his own TV, and he says the food is fine. The receiving area and the garden are very nice.

I visited this facility

We toured Peabody Community. The staff was very friendly, very helpful and very welcoming. They had a little welcome sign for me and my family. It was so good that they were thinking of us and took the time to make an effort for us. The facility was very nice, big, and offered a lot of things. Besides assisted living, they had rehab or memory care or the nursing home all in the same complex. If my mother-in-law had to go into memory care and her husband could stay in the assisted living, they would be right there together, which would be very nice.
