I visited this facility

Lakeview Village had freestanding villas, but we just looked at the apartments because they were available. They were very nice and roomy. The thing about the apartments, is they're in the same building where they serve meals and the dining room, so that was the advantage of that. It was very nice and it seems pretty new, although I don't think it's that new. It's good. The person who assisted us was nice and helpful. She answered the questions. The grounds were beautiful, too.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have had a resident live there. At first it was great. Especially when it was under a different CEO and the other two that followed. Then came Rob, Heath, and Pam. They have caused so many problems for not just the staff but the residents as well. The staff was much better in cleaning and spending time with residents, (I am especially the housekeepers, they were awesome) until Rob, Heath and Pam came about then the House Keeping went downhill because they can't clean well because they overloaded them with WAY TOO MUCH work. I ask you to consider lessening their load and get rid of those three people. I will make sure my folks' friends, relatives never come there, unless they are gone. I had to take my folks out of there and put them where the housekeepers don't have an overloaded schedule and they can talk to them for a couple minutes because sometimes that's the only social that they get and as for Rob, Heath, and Pam please get rid of them. They are mean to their employees. Besides the food is awful. Please reconsider finding someone who is willing to help the elders that live there. They are the ones that is providing tons of money, and they should get the best.

The tour I had at Lakeview Village was good. The person that did the tour was very thorough and took me anywhere I wanted to go. He was very friendly. Everybody knows everybody as well as the residents. The first time I went there, I was looking at a buy-in, which all the residents you run into said that it's the best decision they ever made. It had a lot of things for guys. It had a good wood workshop that was very well supplied with equipment. It was very nice. The community seemed very close-knit, like a family. The buy-in facility was very new, very modern, and very well done. The one-bedroom had an open area type of situation. When I went back to look at the pay-as-you-go apartments, they're more limited in that area and it's in an older building, which for me made a lot of difference. The cabinets were brown and things were kind of beige and that type of thing, but that might work for others. They were going in and renovating those apartments that were vacant. They were also renovating the hallways and the entryways (because it's an older building).

I had a very good impression of Lakeview Village. I liked their facilities and I liked that they had 3 levels of care. The staff was very nice, and it seemed to me that they were very engaged with their residents. They had villas and apartments, and the apartments looked very nice. I think they were the ones that had the most complete amenities. They had everything. The dining areas were very nice, and they had several because they had different buildings. I looked at the menu, and the menu seemed to be the most complete. They offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

My relative only lived at Lakeview Village for a week. The care was adequate, but I think they're understaffed. I think there are good people working there. The day before my relative died, I told the staff that he was dying and they weren't aware. So thankfully, I had to do a bit of a raucous to get everything in order. I think they tried, they just didn't have enough people. The nursing home part was a very old facility but it was very clean. It doesn't have the beauty of the villas, but it always smelled nice. My relative's room was always kept clean.

Lakeview Village was beautiful. It was awesome. The staff was very knowledgeable, helpful, polite, and caring. They had different activities from bingo to board games, to cooking and memory/cognitive thinking games. The room was gorgeous. It's nice and laid out well. They have a weight room, beautiful patios, walking trails, screened-in porches/patios to sit and relax, and a big dining area. They got memory support rooms with light, comfy chairs, and stuff. It's very cool.

While the front of the house staff is very caring, the regular lockdowns of residents due to even the most limited exposure to staff that test positive for Covid is cause for concern. Since the first part of August, my mother has been forced to go without any sort of visits other than compassionate care, have meals in her room (as opposed to the dining room), and no activities with other residents more often than not. This is due to the fact that every few weeks some employee manages to test positive for Covid - not because they are sick, but because of the mandatory testing that is virtually nonstop of staff- whether they have any symptoms or not. And each test means the entire care center goes into lockdown for two more weeks- regardless of how they test and whether or not they had any contact with the Covid positive individual. Lakeview Village obviously has but one concern - to keep people alive. There is no concern for the quality of life of residents. Words cannot describe the level of frustration and anger I have for this lack of caring. These people are residents- not inmates!

They were very nice at Lakeview Village. The facility was beautiful and well kept. I'd give them a 5 on their showing us around and taking care of us while we were there, but we just couldn't find anything that we could use. The staff was very nice. it was very clean and very inviting.

My mother actually lived in the independent section of Lakeview Village before, so right now she will be going back there to stay in the nursing home. Although it's an older facility, the care is supposed to be really good. The staff was very excellent during my mom's stay, and they had a lot of independent living apartments. They hired teenagers and young people that were really fun to be around. They had cleaning staff that were very kind and very nice. When she was there, she made her own breakfast and lunch, and just went down for dinner in this very nice restaurant type of dining area in the same building she was in. They could order from a menu or they could have whatever from the main feature of the day was. I think the food was very good, and there's a lot of healthy choices. They had a wide variety of activities. It's just their prices were higher than the average cost based on what I've read. It's very expensive and a lot of people couldn't afford to go there. I'm thankful she had the opportunity and the ability to go there. She's had a very nice experience staying there. There is a balcony on her room that she could get some fresh air and look out over a park.

My mother is at Lakeview Village right now. It is a 5-plus. They're the best. The staff and the nursing are excellent. They're very good, very diligent, and very professional. They're also nice, friendly, and helpful. However, in the care center, they have shared rooms, which is a huge drawback. There are limited private rooms, but they're very expensive. Most of the residents have shared rooms. The whole building, if you get out of the care center, is spectacular. It is a huge complex. They have a second-hand store shop in the basement. If a resident moved out or passed away, they can donate all their stuff to this shop and then they sell it, like a big garage sale. It is a fantastic idea. That's a good activity. They also have a computer center and an art activity. A lot of the activities are geared to independent living residents, but the other residents from the other wings can wheel in through the area, which is nice. There is always something interesting to do. If you're looking for anybody to go to skilled nursing or rehab, Lakeview is hands down the best. I can't say enough about their staff for skilled nursing.

My friend had rehab at Lakeview Village. It was fabulous. The place was wonderful, although rehab is more like a hospital. The help was wonderful, the food was good and she loved it there. She would've stayed there forever; they babied her. The staff couldn't have been nicer to her. My friend wanted to move in there, but it's not a permanent situation. They didn't have a single room.

My mother came to this facility from an Assisted Living facility where she lived for 6 years. I was so afraid that her health would deteriorate moving to a different facility and moving into memory care. She moved to Lakeview in July. I came from Texas to visit her Nov 4 and spent most of 8 days with her. She has thrived there and is so happy! Instead of sitting in her room all day as she did at her old facility she is out in the common area playing games, playing bingo and singing songs and enjoying herself. This made me so happy too. The staff was wonderful from Bok, the Korean lady in the cafeteria who always had a smile on her face to Mannie who was so helpful to Mensah, Benson and Gregory. My mother is almost 95 and has had Alz. for more than 10 years.

My father was at Lakeview Village Eastside Terrace following a stroke. The admission staff was very easy to work with it and made it very easy to get him admitted. My father received excellent nursing care, the aides and the nurses were outstanding! The therapy was the best I have ever seen. Overall a great building and great care. I would recommend Lakeview Village to anyone following rehab.

I have a lot of good things to say about Lakeview Village and nothing negative. They seem very caring, helpful, and responsive. It's clean and well organized. Right now, my wife is in a two-person room, which is average sized. I have eaten there, and the food is pretty good and has a lot of variety. I've been very pleased with it.

A good friend of mine was very happy with her stay in Eastside Terrace at Lakeview Village. She received excellent care and she said the food was great! Even more important, her time in rehab was very successful as she regained her strength and stamina.

We visited Lakeview Village in Lenexa. The staff was very helpful. They welcomed us and showed us around the campus. It was very clean and very well maintained. They have various categories of rooms, but the ones we saw were well maintained and clean. The lists of activities that the residents can do are quite wide. They have games for people to play in groups. They also have the option of going out either as a group or separately to see concerts and activities around the community. It was a very well organized place. We were able to eat there, and the food was very good. The whole atmosphere was very pleasant. The place looked very secure. They have a check in that you had to go through in order to get to the rooms. It also offers a variety of different facilities to suit different people and different lifestyles.

It was a very good experience even though it was difficult time for us of course because my father passed away there, but the care we got from the very beginning, starting with admissions office, and all the people we dealt with at the beginning to get my dad in there were wonderful. The care he got was really terrific. The nurse aide, the therapist, even the food service people like the cook and the servers were really wonderful to my dad. When it became clear that my dad was passing, they graciously allowed us to be in an environment which was very much like a hospice. They took care of our family members and made it as comfortable as it could be. We really appreciated everything that they did. I was really pleased with everything they provided. We had my dad in another rehab facility prior to that. While the other facility was newer and more luxurious in their accommodations and décor, they did not come close to matching the care that Lakeview Village offered. That is what it really comes down to. That's what's most important.

Lakeview Village is a senior community, so they have independent and assisted. The independent and assisted livings are very good. The rooms are a little small. I think they're redoing them at this point. They do not have an assisted living memory care unit. If they need assisted living or memory care, they have to go to skilled, and that's not so good. Their staff is very friendly, very helpful. I can't say enough about them.

Eastside Terrace is part of a life care complex called Lakeview Village. You must be a resident in this complex in order to move in. Residents can choice a single apt. Or a double, but this assisted living floor is so popular, there is usually a waiting list.

Lakeview is a life care facility that requires a buy in to live there. My parents moved to Lakeview Village several years ago into independent living. Most of the facility is nice, new or renovated and the staff is caring but, in our experience, they still need improvement on continuity of care. Both of my parents have dementia now and are still in independent living until there is a recommendation by staff to move them. The advise I can give is to be sure and understand the process of continuity of care as residents age and the need for assessment and living arrangements changes from independent living to full care. Also ask to tour the Care Center, full nursing and memory care, before signing a contract with the facility.

We are looking for a place for my mom who is wanting to move here, and we've visited this facility. Lakeview Village is actually nice and very clean. They have pretty lawns. The amenities were really nice. They provide long term health insurance as well, that my mom needs. The people who help us toured the place were very nice and accommodating. They interact with others. We will likely choose this facility, but it's just that my mom is still in the decision process.

The inside is kept up nicely though the decor is a bit dated but it is an assisted living facility. The food is alright, not terrible, in the dining hall. The waitstaff is high school students that are very nice and the residents rave about. The residents are allowed to personalize the door's to their rooms which many do. It is nice to walk down the hall and see the personal touches. Many apartments have outdoor terraces attached with a lake view.
