I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I had a relative who stayed at Souderton Mennonite Homes, and it's a really great facility. Everybody wants to get in there because they're probably the least expensive of all the facilities. His little apartment was on the ground floor. It had a nice living room. They have a barbershop, a library, and a pool. It was clean and well maintained. They're a very caring community.

I visited this facility

I visited Souderton Mennonite Homes. It was old, over a hundred years, but it was very nice. The community had a cafe, and a place for people to gather, and it seemed very friendly. I was impressed with that. They have cottages and villas, but they have a 4-5 year waiting list. They take people out, they have indoor exercise in the pool, chess, Bridge, and clothing group. They have apartments that are independent living.

I am/was a resident of this facility

The staff shows a continued loving care day by day, to us if in our private apartment, homes or in continued care. It is great to even have our personal Doctor come, so it is not necessary to travel for medical needs. Our apartment is very home like, with all our wants and needs supplied, even the neighbors are warm and caring., The Apple Orchard Cafe is a great place for either meals, of where we fellowship around a cup of coffee.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My parents has been in Souderton Mennonite Homes for two months now. They're in the independent living unit. They have a card club, they have shopping days where they can go out, although my parents like to be by themselves.

I visited this facility

This beautiful facility is situated in a charming area near the downtown which allows the feeling of being still community involved. Meticulously kept, and exuding the feelings of home, safety and security, this facility offers many types of living choices. Charming cottages and even villas are available to those seeking independant living, while other options are available for those needing assistance, skilled nursing help, and even for those in need of memory care. It is heartwarming to see how the aides go out of their way to interact in any way they can with the memory impaired; this staff is gifted, as are the residents receiving their care.I really find this to be a gracious, kind of old world, charming place to visit. There is a large variety of activities to keep residents happy and busy. There are also events held in which the surrounding community of Souderton, the Mennonite residents and their family can join in together and enjoy BBQ, auctions, etc. This is very clearly a tight knit Mennonite Community in which people truely CARE about each other. Professionalism is always evident, as is attention to event the smallest of needs in order to make a resident happy. Aides are exceptionally polite and respectful while they are warm and engaging. I have witnessed many traditions being upheld...perhaps simple things, but quilting being huge in this area, it is charming to see some of the elder members trying to introduce it to the few who may not have had experience with this art. It is both funny and charming to hear the almost shock from an older woman that a young girl had never made apple butter. There is a huge dignity to this community. I would have not even one hesistation to recommend this to anyone!

I am a friend or relative of resident

My experience was pretty good at this assisted living center. The staff was very pleasant for the most part and they were somewhat outgoing for a nursing home. The amenities for my grandmother looked decent even though the facilities were a bit on the dull side. The walls, from what I can remember, were pretty much all the same color and everything was somewhat boring. However, the therapy staff seemed to be great with them as I walked in on a few activities my grandmother was involved in. However, the outside of the building looked quite a bit nicer than the inside, which is disappointing because the patients are hardly ever outside. I would like to see this place running in the summer time to see if the adults have the patients doing activities outdoors, or if they are stuck inside all day. I think that this is a good place to put a family member that needs care and could be a lot better with a few touch-ups.
