The Quadrangle had more seminars, discussion groups, and performances compared to the other place we toured. The apartments were adequate. They were a little smaller, but they mostly had patios. There were some second floors that didn't have it; they had balconies. The food was OK, but it could use more variety. The place was well-kept, well-maintained, and modernized. They had a pool, an art room, an auditorium that was looped for hearing, a wood shop, a ceramic shop, and places for card games.

Provider Response

I went to look at The Quadrangle. I like the location because it's in a town. It's in a suburb, but it gives you the feeling of being in the country. It has a lot of open space. One of the outside trails is actually connected to the Haverford Reserve, which is very good for me because I like walking. It's good for my son who lives about 15 minutes away from the community. The price is a little bit high. I like the setup because it's really independent living. Most of the activities are managed or run by the residents. I like that because it gives us something to do. Another thing that I really like is that for the price you pay, they give you only one meal a day. I like to have my own kitchen and still do some cooking. The residents seem to have opportunities to go into the city, and they will take us there. They have four buildings, which are all connected. So in winter you don't have to go outside, and you could just use the indoor corridors. I like the place. The staff was very nice.

I visited this facility

I was able to tour The Quadrangle, and that went pretty well. It was very expensive, but I did like the facility. It was clean and it was all one floor. The therapy and the dining room were all on one floor. It's just very quiet there. The rooms were nice and the staff seemed very friendly. They had a big meeting room. There was a room for arts and crafts, and there was a family room where if you bring your family in, you can sit. The room in the skilled nursing side was just basic. There was no kitchenette, but other than that it was nice, clean, and big enough for one person.

I toured The Quadrangle. It wasn't bad. There was a little bit more care taken as far as the rooms in the dementia part. It still wasn't up to par to where the regular ones are, but I didn't really have a problem with that at all. Overall, it was better than the ones that I previously went to. I liked the rooms. They were better, so I was OK with that. They had great activities for the residents there, so that was pleasing. I really didn't have a lot of time to spend there. I quickly went there during my lunch hour, but they were playing some kind of bingo. The atmosphere there was great, so I was happy with that.

The Quadrangle was fine. I didn't feel like it was as warm an environment as the other place. It was also twice the cost; it was very expensive. The food looked nice. I didn't eat anything, but the menu looked nice. Nothing about the activities stood out. They were typical activities, like movements, bingo, and that kind of stuff. The rooms were fine, but it was nicer at the other facility. They have kitchenettes and bathrooms. The facility was nice, but it wasn't worth the money. The staff was fine. I really didn't have any contact with anybody, except the person who was giving me the tour.

The Quadrangle was very nice. The day before my visit, the gentleman I talked to said that we could have lunch and meet a few residents, but that didn't happen. He showed me the room, though. They had a painting studio, an arts and crafts room, a yoga room, a gym, and a pool.

I have a lovely apartment in Independent Living. It is spacious and looks out onto our lovely campus. The staff have been helpful, especially during COVID-19. The activities are extensive in many areas - art, fitness, books, current events, etc. Start a group if you wish a new activity. Performers and movies abound on weekends. The art studios are exceptionally large and well-stocked. There is a pool, mini-golf course, tennis courts.

The Quadrangle was a good facility. It was time well spent, and the head of sales gave us a good option. We went all the way up to the Alzheimer's unit. The rooms were nice and basic, but they were fine and flexible in letting us bring in our own furniture if required. They had different painting classes and stretching classes. They had a rehabilitation facility if required. They had different games and things when we were there in the activity room. It's a pleasant environment.

My friend is in rehab at The Quadrangle right now. She's there for a 2-week period, and she loves it. It's a beautiful place. She's been there before, and she was looking to see if she might get a spot in the assisted living, but it's much too expensive for her. The staff is excellent, she loves the food, and they have events for the assisted living residents.

I recently signed on the dotted line and filled out my check after visiting The Quadrangle in Haverford. I cannot imagine a lovelier, more intellectually stimulating place to spend my remaining years. I am seventy-two-years old and I don't know if I will be living here next year or in ten years from now. I simply know that I was given peace of mind by the knowledgeable and compassionate staff. I look forward to my children and seven grandchildren visiting me here and enjoying the outstanding food and amenities.

The Quadrangle is very fancy and nice. There are lots of university people there and offices around. The one problem with it is that they don't allow for Medicare if a person needs advanced care. The staff who gave me the tour was terrific, very good, and what she showed us was comprehensive and impressive. We had a good meal there. The catering was well done and high quality. The rooms were also fine. They had a library which was quite elaborate and well-stocked, there are also events with lots of invited speakers, and I'm impressed with that.

The Quadrangle is huge, it's more like a little village, which is really nice. They have several independent cottages, and independent apartment buildings connected by climate-controlled walkways, which is really nice. You can go visit your friends without putting a coat on or needing sunscreen. It was very clean, the people were friendly, and I was most impressed with the range of activities available, like the singing groups, gardening area, and workshops where you can do pottery, art, woodworking, and crafting. The staff was really sweet and very accommodating. If I could afford it, I would go there.

DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONE TO GO TO THE QUADRANGLE FOR REHAB!!!! They are unorganized, understaffed, and most (not all) have no real concern for their patients. The physical therapists & some of the nurses are good. But too few to matter. My father fell on the floor in their care because no one answered his nurse bell to help him get to the bathroom. He was later found bruised on the floor waiting for help. They disregarded his dietary needs. (Low salt & lowsugar) and served him bacon 3 days in a row! Even after personally speaking with the diatician. THE FINAL STRAW.... My 90 yr old father was driven back to the Quadrangle from Dialysis and was given a walker to go back to his room. A nurse found him wandering lost down the wrong hall. He could barely stand, he should not have been given a walker!!! He was weak and should have been put in a wheelchair and brought back to his room. He passed away minutes after struggling to get back to his room aided by a nurse. When I arrived shortly after to visit my father the doctor told me what happen with no compassion whatsoever !!! I cannot get my questions answered about why he was not brought back to his room in a wheelchair. DO NOT LET THE FANCY EXTERIOR FOOL YOU! I WISH I HAD READ THE OTHER REVIEWS BEFORE ALLOWING HIM GO THERE!

Everyone told me to "Go to the Quadrangle" for my rehab from the hospital before I went home. It is beautiful but that is where it ends. I waited way too long for my bell to be answered and the staff treated me like I was an imposition. The food was bad and all I wanted to do was get out of there. Would not recommend. Beauty isn't everything - especially in this case. DONT GO HERE!

My father lived at the Quadrangle for 5 years, in independent living. The facility was wonderful, and the staff always tried their best. Unfortunately, because of my father's Parkinsons induced dementia and his often erratic and unpredictable behavior at times, the facility was unable to meet his needs. This is not a reflection of the Quadrangle, as it is no different anywhere else. Just something to be aware of. But for people who are cognitively healthy, there is no better place to enjoy!!

The Quadrangle was an absolutely gorgeous facility, and it was the nicest of the facilities we saw. They had a 9-hole golf course on the estate, they serve meals, and there's a doctor's office on the campus that you could go to. It seems a perfect place to be, it's just simply unaffordable. They require a million dollars in assets and we don't have that, that's why it was the worst. They didn't tell us that ahead of time, and we kind of wasted our time. As soon as they found out that we didn't have the million dollars, they recommended other places that were more affordable. They totally abandoned us.

The Quadrangle was lovely. I was impressed with their ample parking for residents and visitors, which was not true at some of the other places we visited. The person who escorted us around was very knowledgeable. We were quite impressed, but I probably won’t consider it because of the distance.

Do not go here.. No one cares, no one returns phones calls or has any contact with family members about patients needs, concerns, medications or improvement or lack there of. This goes all the way to the top and never spoke to doctor at all .

We’ve made a decision and signed at The Quadrangle because it offered the widest range of activities, the rooms were spacious, the staff appeared to be very nice, and the food was very good. It’s well maintained and very close to where we currently live, so we will maintain our contacts with our physicians and local nurses.

The Quadrangle has a good reputation, but it has been bought by a for-profit. It simply is not as good as it once was. They have a nice pond and many residents that are intellectual, but I don't think they have enough staff to keep the place up because it is for profit.

The Quadrangle was excellent. We would have loved to move my mom into that facility, but I think for us the put off was big. There need to be a huge a down payment advanced, prior to her being able to move in, which would have required her to sell her home first and that wasn’t possible. The facility was extremely clean. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and they knew their residents on a first name basis. The facility was unique in that the place was almost like a complete condominium itself and it to be modified individually to that person’s liking. They also have lots of activities and I like the fact that the residents are the ones who determine what activities are going to be held or not held or even decisions like what kind of food is going to be serve in the dining hall, which was a restaurant style dining. Very different way of organizing senior living, because it was all organized by the seniors living there, so they have a sense of control and autonomy. They served us with the dessert which was delicious.

The Quadrangle is a wonderful place. The staff and residents are warm and friendly and welcoming. The residents run the activities, and there is always something interesting to do, from almost all the arts, to woodworking, jewelry making, knitting, line dancing, bridge, you name it. There is a full time fitness director, with regular exercise, water aerobics, pool. tennis, swimming, working out in the gym, golf, tai chi, yoga, even ping pong. The motto is "the life of the mind" and there are many intellectual activities such as book clubs, a writing group, current events, religion and science lectures and study groups and classical music concerts. as well as a "joy of singing" group. The grounds are extensive and beautiful. You feel very much "taken care of" here. There is a clinic with outside doctors who come here and special units for assisted living, skilled nursing and dementia. We love it here.

My parents were independent residents together for more than 10 year & my mother alone in the skilled nursing care for 6 years. In the skilled care area one couldn't ask for more sincere caring from the top skilled employee to the lower eschelon maintenance/housekeeping person. My family was extremely pleased with the attention and concern given my mother. Before my mother's stroke, my parents were very happy with the activities and meal times which they participated in as independent residents. Because of my parents' experiences, I plan to move to a continuing care retirement facility when it is "my time".

The staff was very friendly, the place was very clean and the facility was large. The rooms were nice and it wasn't too incredibly expensive. What intrigued me most was the amount of activities they provided. Once while I was visiting, a local high school's choir came and performed a concert. The concert was broadcasted on the televisions in each room, so even if a resident was unable to leave their room without assistance, they could enjoy the wonderful music. The choir was very good and stayed to talk with the residents. There was food provided and it was like a little party. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I know the residents did too. I also liked the rooms, they were spacious, very clean and quite comfortable. It was a little pricey compared to some other facilities, but well worth the price. The staff was attentive and friendly; we never felt as though we had to worry about their honesty or work ethic.

The Quadrangle is an assisted living facility that has a lot to offer those looking for a stable place to live with some assistance. There are plenty of residents and neighbors to interact with as well as activities to keep you occupied during the day. There are also opportunities to go on trips to different places in the area. The Quadrangle has many different options of living ranging from apartments to rooms in the main buildings. All buildings are safe and secure and offer assistance 24 hours a day. Active members of the community will find plenty to do, including playing tennis on the courts located directly on the property. There is also a fitness center, pool, and a craft room. The Quadrangle is a great place for any retiree looking for quality living in a great location. They are very accommodating and have plenty of activities to keep residents satisfied.

My Grandfather lives in the Quadrangle. I typically visit him once a week and spend about 2-3 hours there, so I have a good feel for the place. The rooms are average size and very comparable to a college dorm room. There are personal bathrooms in each room, which is certainly a plus. All furniture is ours so nothing is provided by the Quadrangle. The campus is large and houses several different units. The on my grandfather is in, as a dining room, community tv room, and a library. The dining room is nice with round tables that fit 10 people per table. The food in my opinion is not the greatest, but it may be because alot of the food is watered down or made softer for the older population residing there. The library is small but is suitable. The staff that I have seen have always been very nice and polite. They are very attentive and seem very sincere about helping older folks. Overall I am very impressed and happy with the care and quality of the Quadrangle.
