I toured the Allegria Village. They were very nice. They have different events that my mother can participate in, even though she's not living there. We're looking at trying them in about six months. What I like best is that the senior community that they have has a dining area and they have events. They have a chapel and a beauty salon, and they go up to the rooms and bring the seniors down to dinner if they need it and they're able to help promote their social skills with other people their age. I liked that. They also have a van that goes out to Wal-Mart or Meyers. It's a schedule and they can ride for free. I did not find any negative except the price was a little bit expensive, but for the services that you get, I understand, especially at today's inflation stuff, but she will qualify to get that at the $3900 rate in about six months. We looked into assisted living. We just couldn't afford that one yet. They have independent living, then they have right above independent but below assisted, so it gives them some amenities that help them out too, but right now, we can't do it. We'll just do it in about six months. They have a chef. It's fresh meals every day. They get to pick their meals.

Provider Response

Cynthia, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience after touring Allegria Village. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the amenities and events offered at our senior community. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming your mother in about six months!

I love Allegria Village. It was nice. They have more amenities. They have a washer and dryer inside the unit. The two-bedrooms were large. The one-bedroom was okay. You can get a one-bedroom if you don't have a lot of stuff. It was reasonably good-sized. Then they have a bank and a hairdresser inside the facility. They provide three meals a day. They have a lounge area, a big dining room there for the residents, and a library room. The people were very nice there. It was very clean and very nice. It's beautiful. I like it, but what got me is the one-time fee that they charge you that is nonrefundable. The staff who toured me was very nice, very kind and very patient. She took me around. I had a very good tour with her. She explained everything and she showed me everything as we had the tour. I like her. Everything was nice about the building. It was well kept up. I peeked into the dining area, and she told me they offered three meals a day.

Provider Response

Elizabeth, thank you for the glowing review of Allegria Village! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the amenities, spacious rooms, and friendly staff during your tour. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we hope to welcome you back soon. Thank you for considering us!

I toured Allegria Village. They have a pool onsite. They have plenty of activities. They have a calendar of things to do. They seem to have excellent food preparation. Those are the things that are most exciting about the place. The least exciting about the place is the two-room apartment. It's got a bathroom and a main room, so it's very small for the price that you're spending.

Provider Response

Hi Michael, thank you for taking the time to tour Allegria Village and for your positive feedback on our pool, activities, and food preparation. We appreciate your honest input regarding the apartment size and pricing. We'll definitely consider your feedback as we strive to provide the best experience for our residents.

I moved into Allegria Village. I like the price for what you get. They have a pool, a big exercise room, and 150 different groups. The meals are optional to include in your rent. They include the heat, electricity, and internet in your rent. They have three restaurants in the facility, two hair salons, and all kinds of amenities that other places do not have. It's the best I could find in this area.

Provider Response

Hi Joanne! Thank you so much for your positive review of Allegria Village. We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the amenities and options we offer. We strive to provide the best experience possible, and we're glad we could meet your expectations.

I am staying at Allegria Village. What I like least at the moment is the location of my apartment. I have a lot of walking to do to get down on this floor and to the mailbox on the first floor. They have long hallways where you have to walk, and I don't like that. The food is OK. I've had a few good meals here, but for the most part I cook my own and my daughter cooks for me. I stay in my room most of the time. They offer a lot of various things, but I have not participated in any of them. They have a recreation room, an exercise room, and a swimming pool. Everything is a distance away from my apartment. The staff is wonderful. The hallways are always clean and have no clutter. The rent is too high for me.

Provider Response

Hi Cynthia, thank you for your review of Allegria Village. We appreciate your feedback regarding the location and walking distance to amenities. We're glad to hear that you've had some good meals and enjoy the cleanliness of the hallways. If you ever decide to participate in our various activities, we're here to make your experience even better. Thank you for choosing Allegria Village.

I liked Allegria Village. The tour was really good. The rooms were nice. It was clean. They were loving and caring. With the memory care, the people there were friendly as well, not the staff, but just, the patients there. And they had a lot of work to display that they did and do with the patients. The room that I've seen had a bathroom. I'm looking specifically for, like, smaller rooms, but with my mom's condition, I like that there was no shower there. They just had the toilet and the sink. They did have a refrigerator, which that's what I didn't like. There were no little cabinets which I was looking for. It did have a nice windowed view. There were different rooms, but the one that I wanted was a little bit smaller, it just fit perfectly for what I was looking for. The staff was friendly, really outgoing. She answered most of my questions, she's straightforward. She was available understanding and, she was patient with my mom. I took my mom and my kids, so she was patient with everything.

Provider Response

Hi Victoria, thank you so much for your positive review of Allegria Village! We're glad you enjoyed the tour and found the rooms to be nice and clean. Allegria Village was a very nice place. They have a library with free WiFi. They have computers. They're going to offer me a one-bedroom apartment, and I have too much furniture for that. I have to have a second bedroom. The staff was very good. The young lady who gave me the tour showed me all of the amenities, like the indoor pool. They allow the residents to choose any upgrades, so they listen to the residents. The whole facility was fantastic. They offer a plan where you don't have meals included, which I thought was good. The staff members were very polite and pleasant, and they greeted you. I like the layout of the facility.

I moved into Allegria Village. I'm enjoying living here. It's very large. It's very large, and I'm getting used to not getting lost. They came and gave me a welcome package, and now they're trying to find me another place because I wanted the bathtub. So they're working on that for me. So hopefully they will have found something for me in the next couple of days. I got a new phone and it's not clear how to work it. Other than that I'm doing okay. I like this place. I've gone down there to the beauty salon and had my hair washed, and this Friday, I'm going to get a manicure. I go down to a cafe and have breakfast and lunch, and some days I go over and have a real serious dinner and the people are very nice. The meals are very good.

My mom has been at Allegria Village for 3 years now. The staff and aides are what I like the most. They're very, very caring people. They sincerely love the residents, and it's obvious in the way they care for them. They're affectionate to them and they're like the family of the residents. My mom looks forward to mealtime and she enjoys her meal every time. They have a dedicated activity staff. They do morning activities and afternoon activities seven days a week. Most days, they'll first do physical activities, and then the second activity will be more of a sit-down thing like crafts or games.

The assisted living of Allegria Village was on the first floor with 14 rooms in there. If you want to do anything, you pretty much have to go to a different floor, because there's nothing available right on their floor. It's a gated community and the place was too big. You've got to get in and out. It's new and they were actually doing a lot of remodeling. The staff was really good. They had a movie area, some kind of bingo room, and little activity rooms.

I am very happy with Allegria Village. Mom was constantly losing weight before and now she's starting to gain weight when she's there. So, the food is much better. Everyone has their own room and what she has is a bed, chairs, a bathroom and a sink, a closet, and a dresser space. It's nice and clean. The staff is great. They answer your questions. The outside is clean and you can walk around there. They have activities on the board every day of different things. They just take much better care of her and she feels comfortable there. She never was able to stand up on her own at her previous facility and now she can sit on her foot for hours and not be in pain. She also rode herself in the wheelchair into the dining room and come back. I am really glad we found this place.

Having a dear friend at Allegria Village, I’ve spent a good deal of time visiting various areas, including my friend’s apartment, the beautiful grounds, the chapel and the dining areas. I am so impressed with the quality of this senior community and its residents and staff. My friend is a gay older adult and he has many friends in his building. He says he has never experienced any negative word or action from either residents or staff and he’s living his life without fear. I’m sure, from the folks I’ve talked with, that I would feel right at home and plan to explore further. I can’t believe all of the social and craft groups (even building ships in a bottle) – there’s something for everyone! - JudyL

My mother will be moving into Allegria Village. We're going to the independent side. Our experience is very good. They gave lots of insight into the moving-in process, their facility, and things that they had within their facility that I didn't find in other places. They were pretty helpful. The people that live there and that work there were all very open and would speak to you just as you were walking by. It's a very warm and friendly environment.

Allegria Village is beautiful. It's a very elegant place to go. There are three or four restaurants in it. The room is very spacious. My mom hasn't moved in yet; she just paid the deposit. They were trying to fix the room that she was trying to get. The person who accommodated us was wonderful. She showed us the layout. It's not income-based, it is just a flat fee. She's very helpful. We have not tried the food. We had just seen the dining area, and it looked nice. They have a full-scale library, activities every day, and 24-hour Olympic swimming pool access. It's heavily guarded. When you walk in, you have to go through the guard, and they tell you which way to go. They have a welcome center when you get there.

We liked the services that Allegria Village offered. The facility was nice. The staff seemed very nice, too. The cost was the biggest factor why we chose that place for mom. They gave us a pretty good deal. Her room was very large (larger than the other rooms in the other facilities that we visited) with a nice view from the window. They offered a social room, shopping outings, a hair salon, and an in-house physician, which was great. The physician would come right there to your facilities and visit each person in the room.

I only met one of the staff members at Allegria Village, and she was pleasant. She was the Director of Admissions. The facility looked clean. It was well kept on the outside and the inside. It looked like they had good programming. The studio was a standard size. They had a large dining area. They had food that could be brought in the room as well. It was like banquet hall style. I have eaten there before, and the food was OK. They had outdoor activities and field trips. They had different programs that come inside. The grounds were well maintained. They had villas, pond areas, benches, and gazebo settings.

DO NOT send any family member/loved one to Allegria for Rehab!!! Due to concerns regarding family member’s care and safety moved them to another rehab center after less than 24 hours. The following red flags were observed: 1. Social worker at the hospital made arrangements for transfer to Allegria Rehab but upon arrival the room was not ready. Not sure if the room was even cleaned, as the bathroom reeked of urine. 2. Rehab rooms do not come with a phone. If you want one, Allegria gives you a WOW contract to sign, stating it will be installed within 24 hours. Contract was cancelled the following day but 2+ months later WOW continues to send invoices for non-returned equipment from the Rehab center even though this is a “Bulk Acct” with Allegria. 3. The night nurse was EXTREMELY rude and appeared putout that I called to inquire as to the status of a family member (how were they doing and if anti-seizure medications were given). Her response was only the evening nurse knew if meds had been given. My wife called back to give her a second chance to address the request. Nurse stated she “was busy” and was told by my wife, who is also a nurse, that she understood and would wait on hold until the nurse’s task was completed. She gave up waiting after 45+ minutes. It should also be noted that there is only one night nurse for an entire floor. 4. There are NO supervisors overseeing evening or night personnel. Failing to get any Information from the nurse, an attempt was made to reach a supervisor via a nurse on another floor. We were told a nursing supervisor would be contacted and would call us back, which NEVER happened. 5. Numerous phone calls were made at 8 am the following morning to reach someone in management; however, it appears many do not start until 10 am. A visit to Allegria was warranted after failing to reach someone in charge by phone. 6. Met with a supervisor around 10 am and did receive an apology; however, the individual did not appear to be too concerned that medication was missed. Confirmed that night nurses do not necessarily have access to the patient information. 7. Even though this is a non-smoking campus, a number of employees were observed smoking in their cars, which gives the feeling rules are only there for show. 8. Finally, Allegria was given a chance to respond to the concerns listed above but never did.

We chose Allegria Village for my sister. Both the layout and the appearance and the amenities that they have are really good. That's an A+. They have a swimming pool and physical therapy. They have two kitchens and two dining rooms. It was very spacious. There weren't any activities at the time. The person during the tour was very informative. They did interact with some of the residents and they seemed to do a good job doing that.

I like Allegria Village. The other homes that I went to were far out and this is in a nearby area. It's a very friendly community. I'm moving in today. They provide meals and so many other things. They're very nice. It's an independent living, but they have some amenities. They have a swimming pool and a gym. The staff was very friendly. I went to the cafeteria and I saw the food, but I did not eat any of it. It's the place to move to if you can afford to. I needed a place where I can do my own cooking for the most part, and Allegria Village provides a meal that you can choose from and we chose dinnertime. My husband had a stroke and this place is set up to take care of people that have health problems. He's in rehab there already, so I just found a place inside, and I'm happy that I did. It's beautiful.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My in-person visits to Allegria Village were frequent because I visited people who resided there. I liked the atmosphere, the services that it offered to the residents, and the staff with whom I interacted from time to time, who were very friendly. The people, along with my friends who resided there, were very pleased. I heard nothing but good things about them living there, their experiences, and all of the services that are offered. They were on the independent living side and there was nothing that I disliked about it. I think what I liked best were the dining facilities and the fact that the residents had an option of going into the formal dining room or going into the cafeteria-style dining room. I also liked the array of services that they offer to the residents and the idea that they had health facilities on site. I liked the people who were at the desk where I would sign in and those at the gift shop there. I have eaten there with friends too, both in the formal dining room and in the cafeteria, so I've had an opportunity to chat with some of the administrative staff. They were all very friendly and helpful. I also don't remember ever having any food that I didn't like. I know they had a salon and laundry facilities. My friends would go to the gym there too. I don't know if it was a separate gym or it was in the rehab division of the building but people had an opportunity to exercise. I also remember that in the afternoon, sometimes the residents would have a cocktail hour, which I thought was great for them to have the opportunity to sit and socialize. The idea that those in the independent living facility had their own kitchens and could cook for themselves if they chose to and having the option of doing all cooking in their own apartment or going and dining with others, was great for me too.

I went to tour Allegria Village. I went there Saturday, and I had someone that was showing me the property and everything like that. It was a very nice property. The rooms are very nice, but the facility is not for me right now. They're someone like in their 70s, or 80s, or 90s, and I'm like 67 and I'm not there yet. They have a lot of amenities. They have everything there for you. They have like meals that they prepare for you. The amenities were like everything there; you don't have to leave that place. Well, I'm independent and I'm able to get out on my own and drive. I don't need to sit there and wait for someone to bring me a meal or go down to the cafeteria or go to the bank. I like going and doing things on my own because I'm independent. The staff were nice and very professional. The person that I dealt with is the director of sales and marketing. She was very professional and very patient. She took me to a couple of the apartments, and she showed me the grounds. It's very nice there, but that's not for me right now. She took her time, and we had good communication. She told me everything there, but that's not for me right now. They have everything, all the amenities that you want, and you wouldn't leave this complex. They had a dining venue, a fitness center, all seasons swimming pool, billiards, game room, computer lab, library, beauty salon, barber shop, and woodwork hobby shop. They had a television studio, theater, and a chapel if you're religious. They had creative art, oil painting, putting green, and a bocce ball court. Then they had a geriatric physician and a nurse practitioner if you need that. They have a dentist, an optometrist, and a podiatrist. It was a gated community with a 24-hour emergency response. They had everything there, but this is not the place for me.

Allegria Village was terrible. We found my father naked on the floor with feces all around him. His wheelchair was folded up and tipped over. He had an apartment in the independent living, which will be closing out, and it was very nice, but the rehab facility was very dirty. We had to clean the whole room when we brought him in. It was not good. They left him alone for hours. It would take them either 30 minutes to an hour to answer a call light. My dad seemed to enjoy the food, though, and there were a couple nurses that were very good. Most of the aides were just not very compassionate. The care was not there. The director of nursing even agreed that they're going downhill. We constantly had to be there to make sure that he was getting the right care.

Do NOT send your loved one here. Only one nurse (hired from an agency) per floor. They never answer the phone. They left my mom’s window open when it was 16 degrees outside. We had to call security to go in and close it because they were not able to reach anyone. Bed was broken. Nurses were rude. We pulled my mom out of there after only 2 days because my mom said if she stayed there, she’d die. Food was ok.

I did a tour of Allegria Village and they were great. They were very informative and very friendly. I just didn't like the facility. It's not that there is anything wrong with it, but I did not feel that my dad would get the care he needed there because he would be put in a room. They were saying there's a call button and all this stuff, but a patient with dementia is not going to know to use a call button if they needed something. I thought he would be a fall risk there, and if he would soil himself that he would not get changed in a reasonable amount of time just because of the way it was set up. They have a one to ten ratio, at best, for the residents. But they were wonderful, and they were very informative. They were great with the tour; I just didn't feel that it was the right facility for him. I don't have anything negative to say, it was just a personal decision on what I wanted. I wanted more care for my father than they can provide, so they didn't do anything wrong. It looked like all the residents were well taken care of there. It's a very nice facility. It was just too big for what I wanted. I saw they were playing games with them; they're playing bingo or something. It looks like they have activities for them. They mentioned there was an outdoor facility, but I didn't get to see that. The rooms were nice, but I didn't see much. They had a little room for that in the memory care unit. They had TVs, fidget boards, and stuff for the people with dementia; that was nice.

Allegria Village was a very large community. There were buildings of rooms and facilities to accommodate any kind of situation. One nice thing about it was they had a chapel and different sections that were for memory care versus the regular care. They had three meals a day, 24/7 care, and good grounds, especially in the summertime. The rooms were good. All of them were clean and appropriate size with a small kitchen, shower, single/double bed, and everything they needed. The staff member that walked us through had the same situation with his family that we were having. So, he was able to talk to us and give us some assistance as we were going through this process, which was helpful.

Every Friday they have a movie night and everybody gets popcorn.

Dad is going to move here. The staff there are very professional and very easy to work with. Of all the places he visited, he felt that one was the most like home. He will have a two bedroom with a patio overlooking the courtyard on the inside. We had one lunch meal and what we had was very good. We haven’t moved in yet, but so far everything is very, very good.
