First Community Village is almost like a small village, and it was very well maintained. They had everything from apartments, townhouses, assisted living, memory care, and rehabilitation center. It's a big place, but they're all separate buildings, so you don't feel like you're in a huge place. You get your own furniture. The food was excellent, and you get a menu and get to choose. For the memory care, they were like in three cottages. It was all on one floor, but they were divided. They have three kitchens and three small dining areas, so you get to know the people in a group of 10 or 12, which was a nice idea. If she were going from her house to a place, I probably would have picked First Community because it's not that much further from me, and I think she would have had a better quality of life.

We visited First Community Village. It was a lovely place, very clean, and the rooms were different sizes. They were not all the same. They had some doubles, but most were singles. Their food was absolutely delicious. Their nursing care was not as good as what I had wanted for my mother. That's where we did put her for her rehab.
