A short review follows with my impressions of the Oakwood Assisted Living Facility located in Spring Hill, Florida. I learned of this facility when my mother was seeking a safe facility for my 97 year old aunt. My aunt was a very independent woman, and enjoyed her freedom and life on her own, but the time came that she could no longer be safe at home. We needed an ALF facility located in Spring Hill for it to be convenient to my mom's home. We were lucky to ind the Oakwood ALF. The staff there welcomed my aunt and made her feel comfortable, despite her initial contempt for care facilities. Of course there were the usual complaints of boredom and food not being as good as she could cook herself (that is, if she could cook herself), but she settled in. The most touching experience was when my aunt passes away recently, both the owner and my aunt's favorite nurse traveled a long distance to attend her services. It was nice to here them talk about how much they enjoyed my aunt and how they'd miss her. It was very nice to see the human side of assisted living caretakers.
