I am a resident of Dove Tree Manor, and I have not liked them for several reasons. I was not told by the hospital about these things. They just told me it was a great place, and I was rushed off to it. I had to supply everything that I needed: towels, washcloths, shampoo, and anything that I needed. I didn't like that because at the places I've been to, they supplied all that. I shared a room with another patient, but he took up most of the room. I didn't have very much room, and I didn't like that very much. The care I got was OK. I was fed and I was taken care of; my basic needs were met. But I have problems with anxiety, and they were not very understanding about that. For the most part, the caregivers were not very understanding about that. I have other people to talk to about my anxiety; I have my therapist and my psychiatrist, and they were the one saving grace. I wasn't getting very good care here. It's just overall, I didn't care for the place very much. They met my basic needs, so that's the only reason I didn't give them a "one." They keep things pretty clean; they sweep and mop the floor every day. I wasn't allowed to walk with my walker because I fell a couple of times when I first got here. Ever since then, I've been confined to a wheelchair. So, all there is for me to do here is watch TV. They have an outdoor area. There's the driveway, a patio, and a little bit of a walkway between the patio and the driveway. There have been some problems with communication because the rules keep changing. One day the rule might be that I can go to bed at seven o'clock, and then the next day I had to go to bed at six. The caregivers didn't like being woken up at night, and that's usually when I have trouble sleeping. I need something to help me sleep, and they didn't like getting woken up at night at all, so that was a problem.

Absolutely incompetent. My brother was complaining of chills and fever, I stopped by to do a welfare check. He had contracted a staff infection on the leg and had gone sepsis. His right foot was twice as big as the left. The swelling had spread to the neck and started to cut off circulation. I took him to the ER, and right away they incubated him and started surgery to drain the abscess. I ask the staff why didn't they recognize the medical emergency, they said " I thought he was just gaining weight" Absolutely horrific sanitation and gross negligence. The administration had the audacity threaten withholding my brother's personal belongings because we didn't give her30 days advanced notice of contract termination.

I didn't like Dove Tree Manor nor the caregivers, who looked like they're about 90 years old. The house looked OK and clean, but really dark, which bothered me. People were sitting in chairs like zombies, which looked horrible to me. They told me one thing over the phone and when I got there, it changed. I asked them serious questions and things changed a little bit again. I didn't ask silly questions, instead I asked things like, "Do you own the house?, Who writes your payroll? When was your last inspection? How did that go? Who are you insured by?" and when they can't answer me, that's the problem. It felt like they wanted the money. The place was clean and it's a nice house, but I would lighten it up and get additional caregivers because it looked horrible and you know the caregivers there can't do it and they're not going to have the energy to take residents out and do anything with them.
