I visited this facility

Country Meadows of York-West was really nice. I was very impressed. They took very good care of the area, and especially for that area. I just can't believe how different they are, they're so nice. They're very helpful and described everything, helped us through, and told us a lot of stuff. They have four dining areas, and they had a brunch for people to come to, and then we did a tour, which was very nice. The food was very good. In other places I toured they bring food from the kitchen to the Memory Care area. In here, they had a guy on their staff cooking their meals right in that area.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We are very pleased with the care both available and given to our mother by the team at Country Meadows West. Their website states they "support residents in their current life stage and can continue to care for them if and when their needs should change". This is what ideal senior life living should offer and Country Meadows has shown it is more than a slogan. They truly have performed above our expectation.

Provider Response

Thank you for this lovely note. Country Meadows is blessed to have an exceptional team of co-workers who work so very hard to provide a high quality of life for each and every individual resident. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Stay safe and well!

The staff and extremely friendly and helpful to the residents, know them by name. My mother has been there for 5 weeks now and she and her "small dog" are adjusting well. The other residents also seem to enjoy having a pet in the facility. This policy has made the transition to assisted living a much easier one for my mom. The apartments are very bright and cheery and well maintained. The activities scheduled daily are appropriate for the community they serve. They encourage new residents to participate in a very easy going manner. I am very happy with the decision our family made in using Country Meadows, West York for our mother. It is obvious that her safety and well being are a top priority there.

Provider Response

Thank you for sharing your mother and her dog with our York team. We love to read about residents adjusting well and enjoying a new lifestyle while family members enjoy much-deserved peace of mind. We appreciate you sharing your experience with Country Meadows. Stay safe and well!

When you are looking at Assisted Living for your loved one, it isn’t just the fancy decorated facility that matters, but it is the people who care for your loved one. I visited almost every day for nine years and the staff at Country Meadows worked diligently to care for my dad and come up with solutions for all of my dad’s challenges while making sure my dad enjoyed a rich quality of life. I was truly blessed to be allowed to bring my dad back from several hospital and rehab visits and especially blessed by his final return to Country Meadows on Hospice. I know we did a great job in selecting Country Meadows. We could not be more thankful for each member of the staff! My dad always said, “It isn’t home but it is the next best thing.” He loved you all!

Provider Response

What a beautiful note! Thank you! We truly appreciate you sharing your positive experience. Most of all, thank you for sharing your wonderful father with our co-workers. It was an honor getting to know him as well as your family. Please stop by from time to time to visit our team. You will always be a member of our Country Meadows family!

Country Meadows of York was home for my dad for eleven years. When he moved into independent living he was welcomed with open arms and felt right at home. He quickly became friends with many other residents and was soon busy with the many activities that are available. He always enjoyed the food and camaraderie of eating dinners together. When his needs warranted a move to Assisted Living and eventually Pathways he adjusted beautifully to the new areas and the routine. The care that he was given was first rate as were the caregivers. Whenever I saw him he was always smiling. Even as the COVID protocol was instituted we continued weekly visits via Facetime and even celebrated his 100th birthday with a Zoom meeting that Country Meadows set up. We could not have been happier with my dad’s Country Meadows family. They are a first rate community who are dedicated to meeting all of the needs of their residents.

My parents have been in Country Meadows of York West for a couple of years already. It's a good place. They have activities for the folks, they are very nice people, and the nurses and staff are friendly and nice. Everything was really good. One thing that my mother complained about is the food; it's terrible, and we've gone round and round about that issue. Other residents complain about the food because it's terrible. Personally, I've been there to eat a couple of meals, and I don't think it's bad; so I think when you get older you lose your sense of taste. I've had calls from these folks, and they're saying that it's going to keep getting better. When they talk to her, she doesn't think it's all that bad; but when she talks to me, that is all she complains about. I know that it's not the greatest, but it could be worse. Other than that, I think they get the care that they need. They keep the place clean, and somebody is always there to help, which is good. If I were 85 years old I'd go there, to be honest. Unfortunately, I didn't know the expense compared to the other place. They have a lot of activities, though they choose not to do some of them. But they have bingo every day, they go for country rides, there are other activities that they have like a gym, you can go for exercise, and you can go outside and walk around the gardens. They have all kinds of clubs that I've seen, like puzzle clubs, and they have a church on site, which is good. They have a two-room apartment and a bathroom, so I would say that the room is decent. Other places in the area are cheaper and have kind of the same deal.

Thank you for sharing your experience with our campus. We are blessed to have some of the best co-workers in senior living! (Yes, we know we are biased…) Your comments about the food contrast with the positive compliments residents frequently provide to our dining team. We do realize that many of our residents are fantastic cooks, making the bar very, very high for our chefs and culinary teams. We will touch base with your mother to see what we can do for her. Ironically your father often compliments our dining team for the delicious meals our team serves. Please reach out directly to the campus Executive Director or our Home Office team if you have further concerns. Thank you for choosing Country Meadows. We enjoy your parents and are very happy and grateful your family chose us!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is a Country Meadows of York on Trolley Rd resident. My father passed away in November and my Mother had to move into a facility to help take care of her. We could not have found a better place for her. They have gone above and beyond to make my Mother feel comfortable and cared for. It has been a very hard transition for all of us, but having the support and care of Country Meadows has eased all of our pain. The staff has been remarkable. We could not be more pleased. They are able to take her to her doctor appointments and are always in communication with our family in regards to her care. We feel like my Mother is part of the community at Country Meadows and not just a resident. I would highly recommend their facility for a loved one.

Provider Response

Thank you for choosing to share your mother with our team. We consider it an honor and a privilege to care for and form relationships with our residents. If you have any questions or feel there is something we can do a bit better, please reach out to the campus Executive Director. Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely note—we appreciate it. Stay safe and well!

My 90 year old moved here this year after a fall required him to leave his previous apartment in MD. I have been 100% thrilled with the level of care and communication from every level of service at Country Meadows of York West. I get timely and thorough responses to any questions I have. I have quickly developed relationships with many of his caregivers. My mother passed earlier this year after going through independent, assisted, continuing and hospice at another facility. I had constantly advocate for her. My uncle's experience has been totally different at Country Meadows. Thank you!!

Provider Response

Thank you for sharing your uncle with us, and thank you for your kind words our York team, especially during these challenging times. We are blessed to have wonderful co-workers who truly care for and about each and every resident. Please continue to reach out with any questions you have. On another note, we are very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother and send our condolences to your family. Please stay safe and well.

Stellar is too mild a word to define the exemplary care, integrity, caring, dignity with which "every" and I mean every member of the Country Meadows staff exuded. The pro activeness in reporting, calling to inform me of my Mom's situation whether in the immediate or this is what we have observed, is literally second to none! Never once did I question their recommendations or actions taken. Lastly, my life was completely "at ease" due to their unwavering care, support, and the best of interests for my Mom's needs. The bond, friendship, and love the staff and I had for one another was unreal. I will miss their ever present smile and asking of me "Is there anything we can do more for Mom." God Bless you guy's, money cannot pay enough for your contribution and I must say "Each and everyone of you are truly special people!" Without any uncertainties, the aforementioned is dead-on true!

My mother was a resident for 4 years. The staff was professional, but also treated my mother as if she were family. There are so many activities, there is something for everyone. The level of care is excellent. They have Happy Hours with entertainment, exercise classes, day trips, bingo, on site religious services, and many special events. They even offer transportation to and from medical visits, which was a huge help to our family!

Provider Response

Thank you for allowing the honor of getting to know your mother. Our co-workers truly do consider residents to be members of their own families and we are thrilled you felt the love! We appreciate your kind words and again, thank you.

We were able to afford Country Meadows of York. I can’t say anything but good things about the staff. We have not had problems. They have done more than what we were expecting, so I’m very pleased. Right now, he’s independent, then they have another tier for nursing assistance and a wing for memory/Alzheimer’s. They cost different prices. My father has only been there a month, so he’s just getting into the activities. They have an exercise area, a gift shop, and a large room where they gather. The other night, they had a band come in to play. For the rate that we have, he gets one dinner and his breakfast is like a Continental breakfast. My sister is only 10 minutes away so she takes him to his doctors, but they offer free rides within 10 miles of the facility.

The place was very nice and it seems like it’s a very high quality. All the staff smiles a lot, and they say hi to you. It was quite professional and very nice. I think the people really like what they do, and the setting is very nice. Physical appearance is very nice at Country Meadows. Everything is single storey with wings as far as the building goes.

Provider Response

Thank you for stopping by. We are very proud of our York team of co-workers who truly love the residents for whom they care.

The home was very welcoming and helpful. The relative I visited was placed with a roommate originally, due to the onset of dementia. The staff was always friendly, even when there was trouble with the insurance payment and money was owed. They never threatened to kick her out or treated her with any less respect. As her dementia worsened, they moved her to a more secure room as she would wander off on her own and get lost and confused. They kept a close eye on her. When she developed pneumonia and her situation worsened, they then brought in Hospice. She was treated with dignity and respect, which is what anyone deserves in that stage of life. We know our family member could be extremely difficult and belligerent at times, but they handled the situation with the utmost care. They also called regularly with updates or any pertinent information regarding her situation, so we always felt kept in the loop.

Our great grandmother lives in an assisted living facility and is quite pleased with it. She never calls and has complaints and seems to be quite satisfied with her personal care takers. They have community games and grandma has quite a few friends that she has made there. I know she would not want to trade and thinks the people there are genuine and really there to help her.

My mother is a Country Meadows of York on Trolley Rd resident. She enjoys the amenities and opportunity to participate in organized events at the site. She also seems to enjoy the dining and socialness of the facility. My mother enjoys the staff and other residents and has formed many relationships while there. She has also been allowed to have a library cart to collect and disperse books to the residents. We feel very comfortable with our mother being there.

My grandfather actually lived in this retirement community for the final years of his life. What really surprised me was that he said that they were some of the best. I think that this was mainly because of the staff at Country Meadows. I have only spoken to a few in passing while visiting my grandfather, but from what I could gather they were a very nice bunch. They were always so nice and sincere. One thing that grandfather really enjoyed was that the staff there didn't really treat him as if he were living in a stereotypical retirement community. They always made sure that he had his independence, and they were just there if he ever needed help. I would highly recommend this retirement facility to anyone who is interested. I myself am even thinking about going when i am in my golden years. It is very important to make sure that your loved ones are happy and taken care of.
