The food was decent 5 years ago when my parents moved in. It has gone down hill since. Processed foods, rich fatty sauces, lots of salt, not healthy. But a lot of folks here are not healthy, over weight. So they like it. They have restricted most everything due to COVID. But costs keep going up and quality down. And limited services they advertise they have. Residents have no voice. Lots of money and disappointing.

SpringRidge at Charbonneau was quite wonderful. The staff members were wonderful. Their food was extraordinary. It was really good and healthy. The dining facility was over the top. The facilities are beautiful there. When we were touring, my parents got tired because we ate first and then we walked to one place and another. We couldn't get to visit one of the rooms that we wanted to see because they just got worn out. I loved the way the facilities were structured. They're a little newer, and they're gorgeous. But I wasn't sure my dad and mom were going to necessarily be able to get out and get to everything. They have nice apartments. The rooms were a little bit smaller.

SpringRidge at Charbonneau was wonderful. They showed me a bottom story. It had a backdoor to it and we could go to the back lawn area. I wouldn't have to go out the front door, which is great because I have a dog. It's too bad I wasn't ready then because that's the one I would have taken. It was perfect. They had a gift shop that volunteers work at, and I'd love to work at it as a volunteer. If I were to move today, I'd go look again and I'd probably move there, depending on how much more it costs. They invited me to have lunch the following day. The staff called me and said they wanted to pick me up and take me to lunch there, but I couldn't go that day. They didn't suggest another day, so I never made it. They had a library. I looked into the dining area. It was very nice. They had separate cocktail tables. I kind of am used to the Wilsonville area because I went to the senior center there for years and years. I didn't meet many staff members, but the ones I met were very nice. I'd be paying so much because lunch and dinners come with these places and I don't eat all that much.

I visited this facility

I toured SpringRidge at Charbonneau. It was very similar to others that I visited, but I really enjoyed the location. The room itself was nice. It offered a full kitchen. They offered a very reasonable meal plan, and the prices were very reasonable, too. They had a staff whose job was to meet people and guide them around and explain the environment and benefits, etc., and she was very good. They have a library, a game room and exercise facilities and of course, their dining facility. They offer a full range of things.

I went to SpringRidge at Charbonneau. They were all apartments. They were not cottages, but I thought that they were adequately sized. We prefer a more outdoor-oriented community and so being in an apartment didn't work for us so much. We had lunch there, and it was very good. They had a physical exercise room with equipment that looked nice and they had a pool and a hot tub situation, which looked very nice. It looked very clean and well-maintained.

My mother-in-law was at SpringRidge Charbonneau, and that is for independent living. She was very happy there. There, she had a two-bedroom with her husband who has now passed. She liked it. They have everything. The building is really classy but maybe not quite as classy as the assisted living. It is still a very nice building. They have lots of activities and lots of musicians. The food was really good. There is more space in my mother-in-law's particular room at that time. They have different events at each building. Sometimes they'll have a person do something at the independent living and then go over and do it at the assisted living, too. There are two different buildings with two different activity lineups. They clean your room once a week. They're very accommodating if you have some special needs, like your toilet gets plugged or something. They're very responsive there. They're just what I would expect for independent living. The building is beautiful and nice.

SpringRidge at Charbonneau was very nice, it was very clean and very bright. From my perspective, it was certainly a possibility of location for my wife, I was interested in it. The apartments were fine, they were clean, nice, and typical of some of the other ones that I've looked at. They had studio apartments. The price of SpringRidge was on the high end. The staff who gave the tour were very nice ladies that I met with there, they were very good as far as giving me the tour, and answered all my questions. The dining area was fine, they have outside activities and they take excursions and what have you. They had a nice looking and nice appearing dining room. I prefer an assisted living location that is bright and cheery, and it meant that. They did not provide the level of care my wife needed, so consequently, it became an option down the road. It was very nice.

My father was at SpringRidge at Charbonneau. We were really happy with the community. It has a very nice campus, nice dining room, library, a number of activities and the typical sorts of things. It's just a very nice community in a nice location.

Living out of the country I had to rely on my very capable sister to take care of mother at this facility. For the exorbitant cost of the services - they always seemed to be lacking. Nice place but obviously has management issues for eg NEVER returning my numerous emails over two years or so. The lack of caring after they basically forced mother out to a place that would accept hospice was, well, atrocious. I would recommend a much more in depth research of the facility, contacting past family members etc before admitting a loved one into this facility.

My Mother was moved here from the Independent facility and was very well taken of by her main caregivers although they were always rushed as there were never enough caregivers it seemed. There were a lot of new faces all the time which was a little disconcerting. When it came time for mother to move to a facility that could provide more one on one, I really had no help or guidance from SRC where Mum had been for at least two years. Her rent went up every year and the services seemed to be diminish by the same percentage. It was most upsetting when I let them know Mother had passed away not to hear from anyone, as they all professed to "love" my Mum. I really felt that whenever I had something to say about cleanliness or lack of, there was always an excuse or my comment ignored. Also, on more than one occasion, I had to point out a skin tear or issue with Mothers health that needed addressing. I wonder what would happen if I was not able to visit on a weekly basis. All in all, the facility itself is very clean and daily activities excellent. A slight staff communication issue was resent but not too much of a problem. Expensive, but worth it after other facilities looked at. The lack of communication and compassion after Mum left is the sad part.

We liked SpringRidge at Charbonneau as soon as we walked in because everybody was smiling and friendly. The place was nice, very clean, and very well done. There were lots of activities, and the food was good. The staff member who gave us the tour was fairly new but did very well.

This is a Club Med for seniors. It is not cheap, but if you can afford it, I highly reccommend it. When my parents moved in almost four years ago, we had looked at all senior independent options south of Portland. Apartments are large, have full kitchens, and washers and dryers. Most residents probably never do any real cooking, but it reassures them to think that they could... Having the washer and dryer in the apartment and not down the hal, has been a lifesaver,t My 90+ year parents at first didn't want to move there (or anyplace else.) Pets are allowed, and when my parents moved there, there was no buy-in. I have always found the staff to be friendly and accomodating. I vacillated between four or five stars ...the problem is that most of us worry about getting old, but this is not the fault of any facility. Many of the residents are thriving, considering their ages and various degrees of mobility.

In February of 2017 I was invited to join SpringRidge At Charbonneau in Wilsonville for lunch. I was so disappointed when the presenter bragged about their meals and indicated that they use a bunch of bacon. He seemed proud that their food was so delicious. There is not a resident in that community that should be offered that kind of food. Today, I received a call from a woman from that community to see if I was interested. When I told her how I felt about what they serve to their residents, she indicated that if they did not do that they would not have residents. The reality is that they will not have them for long or healthy if they continue to do what they are doing. When I tried to say more she said “I’m going to disconnect this call now?

Nice facility, attractive grounds, apartments are fairly good sized. ALWAYS short of caregiving staff, the loyal caregivers seem worked to death doing double shifts. Seems to be a revolving door of newly trained caregivers who soon leave. Food used to be good, not now. Try to be "gourmet" with spicy seasonings and weird salsas and toppings. Lots of food thrown away. Need to serve the kind of food old people like. Mental competencies vary, due to aging clientele. Rent goes up every year about 4 percent, as do charges for extra care giving. Good variety of activities. Very old movies. Have heard this facility is better than most.

SpringRidge at Charbonneau is not progressive. It had independent and assisted living, and I think it had memory care; it did not have skilled nursing. The units are OK, but I wasn’t thrilled. It does have 1,200-square-foot rooms. It has a huge buy-in of $42,000 -- $4,000 a month plus $700 for the second person. It’s pretty expensive. I like the two meals; I don’t particularly like the three meals. I like to have breakfast in my pajamas, sp I don’t want to get dressed and go somewhere for breakfast. They’re very excited about their new salt water pool, but it's way too warm for swimming; it’s for aerobic exercise but not for swimming.

Spring Ridge was close to where my parents live. That’s the top of the line. It’s newer and bigger, and it’s also expensive. The food is great, and the staff is great. They answered all my questions and were very easy to talk to. The rooms were big, and they had a wide selection. They’ll take you to gardens, museums, and gambling. They have 2 big buses that are out all the time.

SpringRidge was great. I liked the cleanliness of it because it was very good. It had beautiful scenery with big trees. We took a tour and had lunch there. The food was very good, and the dining area looked like a high-priced restaurant. We looked at a two-bedroom apartment, and it had two baths and a washer and a dryer inside the apartment. It had a microwave and a stove. It was carpeted and in good condition. They had a weight room and a golf course. The staff was very helpful and very nice. They were great. The only problem was the cost was very high.

Springridge is absolutely sensational. It's beautiful, it has very low turnover, has very good exercise saltwater pool, and has a beautiful setting. It's gorgeous and expensive. The room I wanted was perfect. They have excellent activities with excellent fitness, excellent swimming, and other opportunities in the area. But it's not as good as other places in Portland because it's 17 miles away from every place else.

I am a friend or relative of resident

my mother is moving to Spring Ridge at Charbonneu after touring numerous independent living facilities in the greater Portland and Lake Oswego areas. None came close to the gracious and welcoming atmosphere of SpringRidge. SpringRidge is almost like a town inside-she is excited that there is a nice restaurant style dining room, a pub, a bank. A cafe, large swimming pool for herself and relatives, a beauty salon and activities galore! Her apartment is large compared to other facilities and looks out upon gorgeous grounds. We worked with Quinn who was very helpful and made sure all was taken care of in preparing the apartment and making mom feel welcome. We highly recommend Quinn and SpringRidge!

Springridge is a great facility. My grandmother loved it there and had many friends, and there were frequent activities to keep the residents active such as bingo, a singing choir, and ice cream socials. The staff are young and inexperienced, but friendly. I'd say the one downside is the food, which is really not very good, although the residents seem to like it. The rooms are well furnished. There is a large, well maintained garden outside, with planters that residdents are allowed to use. The decor inside is gorgeous, and includes a grand piano that is frequently played by residents and also by entertainers that are brought in. They also had several buses and vans that would take the residents on frequent field trips. Overall, this is a fantastic facility that supports the elderly while still allowing them to enjoy life, and I would highly recommend sending your relatives here.

When my father moved in to one of their studio units I visited frequently before he unexpectedly passed away. The grounds were kept nice and the food was good. I had fun skateboarding around and eating under their stone gazebo. One negative thing was the food was expensive for visitors as well as the living. If I remember correctly, it came out to around $4800 a month to stay there. Luckily my dad had insurance that covered a lot of it. I remember that they had a workout facility and a swimming pool that I was able to use. Along with nice showers and possibly a sauna. There wasn't a lot of people on my dads side of the building that used these facilities due to their older age. There was a golf course and tiny shopping center a quarter mile down the road but no one in the building had transportation. I do know that they had sunday church services and weekly music night. My dad's studio had a sliding glass door out to a small deck that overlooked the parking lot on the ground floor. One thing I did find annoying was the fact that this one lady always wanted me or whoever I was with to sign in. For the most part everyone was courteous and polite. I especially liked his nurse, bathing nurse, and a couple other nurses.

This facility has a suburban location, only about 5 minutes to a freeway exit, so convenient for visitors. It's owned by Senior Resource Group (SRG), which is known to be a good management company that puts lots of effort into maintaining the facilities and hiring good staff. Management gives a lot of attention to detail. The Executive Director has been there since the beginning"”at least 10 years. The facility is not a buy-in, but offers independent living, assisted living and a very small memory care unit. It has 264 apartments, most of them independent living, so as a resident's care needs go up, the unit availability goes down, which can be problematic. It's located in a planned unit development that includes a golf course and tennis courts"”and residents have access to those benefits. The atmosphere is very gracious and high touch"”and the facility is very nice-looking. The inside is nicely decorated"”with a big fireplace. There is also a tree-lined walking path. The whole place is well maintained and gracious. The dining room is very pleasant, with booths and a welcoming hostess. The food is above average. There are also many social events offered, including daily happy hours, with a good effort made to bring in outside lecturers and others from the community. There is effort put into planning activities that are interesting and engaging to residents. On the whole, the place does not feel exclusive, so most solidly middle class residents would feel comfortable there. The caregiving staff tends to stay for a long time"”and they seem relaxed and happy and well-engaged with the residents. They are more customer-service oriented than most places. In fact, all staff seem to have a good knowledge of residents and their habits and care needs. The individual living units are large, with high ceilings"”many of them with good views. A benefit: Technically, you could age in place here"”especially if you didn't need memory care. The place is going through the same identity crisis that many other senior living communities are"”especially those built with very healthy and active seniors in mind, with little room or attention to assisted living or memory care needs. That's a financial problem and an identity problem for the facility, but it does translate to a financial incentive for those who want to move in. Because they're struggling to fill independent living units, new residents may be able to negotiate good deals. The cost is favorable to the consumer at this point"”about $4,000 monthly.
