My parents moved to Park West Plaza. I like the friendly atmosphere. The thing I like least is that the long-term and assisted living are in separate buildings (I have one parent that's long-term, and the other one is in the assisted living), but the staff is very helpful. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. They have a nice and clean dining room. They have a beauty shop and some patios. It's a good location.

I visited Park West Plaza. I liked the community spaces, the cafeteria, and the exercise room. They can't tailor their services to what you need is the biggest drawback. The room is adequate and it would be comfortable for two people. The staff was nice. They have a lot of activities. They have chair yoga and some outside excursions where they go to shopping malls.

My father had a really terrible experience at PWP. There were constant staff shortages (those who were there at in chairs and scrolled their phones, ignoring residents)., Nearly all of my dad's new (still tagged) clothes, gifts and personal family belongings were stolen. Even Dad's watch that belonged to his own father was stolen. There was continual resident neglect, slopped together skimpy sandwiches with chips for meals, and a lack of clean silverware, dishes and cups, with no one in the kitchen to wash dishes. The residents' rooms are continually riddled through yet no one had time to mop up the sticky urinated on floors. Resident baths were routinely skipped, was was basic handwashing. Soap dispensers were empty and nonfunctional -- despite a deadly Pandemic!) By the end of my dad's stay, he was begging me not to leave him there. I and several other families brought in hired personal companions to ensure our loved ones were cleaned, dressed, fed, and not left simply staring at a TV showing L&O: SVU. It took a couple of months of searching in neighboring counties, but I finally got him moved out of that place. I don't know about the independent and assisted living areas, which appeared upscale (in the hallways) in comparison, but memory care was a nightmare. Not even the DONs stayed.

I liked the management at Park West Plaza, but I don't think it would be good for memory care. Overall, I thought it was a very nice place. It just wasn't a place for us. The staff was very nice. I did not try the food. I did a quick visit. We went in, talked to a guy named John, and he was very helpful and very knowledgeable. They had a salon and stuff like that. It seemed like they had a lot of amenities. I didn't have a problem with the upkeep and cleanliness of it. It's in a residential kind of neighborhood on a busy street. I wouldn't say there are hospitals or restaurants or any of that close by.

The room that Park West Plaza had available was small off the kitchen, and it didn't have a bathroom attached. You would have to use the communal bathroom and I didn't care for that part of it, but everybody there was very friendly. It was clean and the residents seemed like they were well cared for. John was very good. He informed us of a lot of things that we didn't think of. He was very polite, courteous, very friendly, and made us feel very at ease. He said that even if we didn't stay there, if we had any questions, we could always call him back and he would refer us to other facilities. So I really enjoyed that. The facility was very well cleaned on the outside. Everything looked like it was kept up. I was very impressed with it. In the memory care part, they eat as a family. They had a dining room table right here. We saw residents that were playing games, some were watching TV by the fireplace, while others had families visiting them. It's just a little pricey for my mom, and once she would run out of her funds, Park West Plaza did not have something where she could stay on and transfer over to Medicaid, and that really was the only bad part about it.

We went to look at Park West Plaza. I like that they have cottages there the best. The staff member did very nicely. She sent us a video of the tour so that we could have a chance to look it over again when we wanted to. They had a courtyard. The facility was very clean. It was near a pharmacy, shopping, and a clinic that we're looking at.
