I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband was at The Pines for PT rehab after surgery. The entire staff is phenomenal. Everyone was friendly and kind. My husband even liked the food! I checked out other facilities, none of which I could imagine my husband going to. A friend told me about ThePines and as soon as I walked in, I knew I found the right place. If you have a loved one who needs assistance/rehab, etc., don’t waste your time anyplace else. Go straight to The Pines.

My stay at Pines Village was short but comfortable. The staff was friendly, kind, and most of all professional. My room was impeccable and tended to regularly . The meals were good and always delivered on time.

My father in law went to The Pines for a 2 1/2 week sub acute rehabilitation stay. Everyone from Admissions With Jeff, to Larry the Nursing Director, Jessica the nursing supervisor, all the therapists, with the director Adrienne, and the kindest, most competent nursing assistant, Judy, plus each nurse who gave him medication and assisted him throughout his stay did a stellar job. The staff was professional and kept focused on his goals and his discharge plan. We are grateful for the care. He arrived in a very fragile state and is on the road to the best possible functional outcome. Thank you all.

Pines Village was very nice. When you come in, it was like walking into a nice, beautiful hotel lobby. It's very, very nicely decorated, and there were a lot of people around as they were getting ready to go to a different community to sing for some people. The director was very nice. I had a chance to have lunch there and it was excellent. I complimented the cook. I had a great hamburger and told them so. The apartments were very nice, too. They seemed to be very well appointed, and they had either a balcony or a screened in porch with beautiful gardens, which I got to see.

My mother has been at the Pines over 14 years in Independent Living. She was recently hospitalized, then went to the Hamilton Section for rehab. The care and concern of all the staff, especially the nurses (Jessica, Kathy,Darlene Dana) exceeded our expectations.

Independent..assisted..nursing all different. We did not experience nursing as much due to Covid and isolation. Independent was excellent….assisted was very good. The staff had exceptional people in it with great caring personalities.

I went to The Pines at Whiting. I thought it was good. It was fine, which is why I'm going back. It's all in one level. Each apartment has a little patio going out to grass like screened in porch. It seemed reasonable. The big thing is I can afford it. It looked OK. The staff who assisted me was very sweet, very nice, very pleasant, and very helpful. The facility is about average. It wasn't super big. It's probably a little bit older, but it was good enough for me. This is a first impression. We weren't there that long. The staff just talked about what they offer, how much it is, and that's about it. We saw an apartment. I really have to take another look, which we plan to do.

The Pines at Whiting has very good grounds outside. A lot of pine trees are around. There are trails that residents can walk through the woods and not just around the buildings themselves. The staff is very friendly and informative. If you ask a question, you feel like you're getting a straight answer. There's a small shopping plaza, drugstores, big supermarkets, and all kinds of medical support items like major hospitals in the area. The facility is located in a very central place in New Jersey. The Pines is affiliated with another place that's adjacent to it. The other place has a swimming pool, and residents of The Pines can use it.

The Pines at Whiting is all inclusive. It starts out as independent living, moves on to assisted and then onto nursing home care if needed. It has a rehabilitation wing and a memory care unit. It's a very large facility with many activities every day. I like the employees and all the people that we met. This seems like a good fit for my mother. They do the food bank for the women. The men have different outings where they go different places, and the women may go out to lunch. They do overnight trips, go to see different shows, a choir that my mother is very interested in joining, and have the usual activities throughout the day, like memory games and crafts. There's a large variety to choose from. We met with the director of admissions, who was very good. She helped us with the finances, gave us the tour, and was extremely honest. Three of the board members and their family members live in this place, so it's recommended by even the people that work there because they have family that also live there. It is one of the least expensive places. Once you have signed on and given your contractual fee, you will remain there forever. Even if you run out of money, they don't expect you to relocate to another place. The facility was really good.

I ate at the Pines, and the food was good. The atmosphere was better compared to the other places I’ve visited. The halls were wider and brighter, and had more lights in there, so it wasn’t as dim. They were playing cards, and there was a lot going on; they were very active. The rooms actually had patios at the back, which were nice. The staff was very accommodating.

We found a place for my parents called The Pines. They're going to be moving in a couple of weeks. The people were very accommodating. They showed us around. They were nice to my parents. There were older men there too, and because my father doesn't want to be held up with nothing but women, I was happy to see that. It was important to my father and I. The food was good. It wasn't like going to a great restaurant, but my father and mother liked it, and I liked it. The rooms/apartments looked clean and roomy enough. They looked inviting too. Once my parents are there, they are encouraged to get up and out, which is good because I don't want them to be shut in their room. It seems as though there is an invitation to leave the room and have breakfast or lunch downstairs among the other people, and that seems to be really good.

I visited the Pines at Whiting, and it's absolutely gorgeous, but they don’t take outside insurance. They only take specific insurance or self-pay. Everybody was wonderful. It's clean; it's a really beautiful facility. Their rooms are like hotel rooms. When we went there, they were having bingo. The cleanliness and newness of the place did stand out for me.

I like The Pines. It's very nice. I have friends who live there, both in independent and in the nursing home, and it's fine. The people I know who live there like it. The sanitation seems to be fine to me. I live in the area. They have a lot of activities. I know my friend who lives there does a lot; she keeps very busy. I went there a couple of times for picnics. It's a good place to be if you can afford it.
