My mother-in-law is at Cadence Wake Forest. They are very caring, considerate, and private. They have been excellent at taking care of my mother-in-law. They have southern cooking, which is what my mother-in-law enjoys. It's been delicious, according to her. She does not participate much in activities, but they have invited her. The activities are wonderful and very inviting. The facility is clean and neat.

My aunt has moved to Cadence at Wake Forest. I haven't gotten the level of communication that I think I should have. When I call or when I leave a voicemail, they don't return it, and that's an issue. The staff members are pleasant, there are no issues there, I just think they have a lack of communication. I've been there for some of the meals, they talk about gourmet meals, and the memory care is supposed to be getting the same as the assisted living, but the piece of chicken breast looked very dry to me. Their amenities are pretty good. They have a salon, they have a gym, they have a library, they have a game room, and crafts and they have plenty of things for the residents to engage in. I just don't think that on the memory care side, they have the same things. It was very expensive, it's almost $7,000 a month.

What can I say I thank God for Cadence Of Wake Forest. My mom has been there for two months and it has been the best experience. My mom is loved and cared for which means more to me than anything. Her room is great. My mom is transition and I thank God for all their staff. She is in the best hands. Yes hands not hand. If you are a believer then you can feel God's presences it is amazing. I thank God for Alice. We were at another place prior to this I felt it while the first nurse was there but the other six months I didn't. But I don't look back but I am grateful my mom is loved. She in the process of getting promoted to her heavenly home. The rooms are great! The whole staff cares about each and every person.

My mother is at Cadence at Wake Forest. Right now, it's wonderful. We spent the day there with her yesterday. A young lady that I believe runs the place does a great job. The staff was friendly. I don't think the food is up to par for anybody, but it's still good food. Overall, it's a very well-balanced meal. They have plenty of meals. They have activity, it's easy to access getting in and out of, and that's something that I like on the weekend if we get to visit on the weekend. At the moment, I have zero complaints. The staff is very courteous and helpful. We found the place to be spotless. It was up to our standards. I'm very happy with the way it was taken care of and her room gets cleaned two or three times a week or whenever it's needed. If there's an accident or something, they'll come in and take care of it. I'm very, very happy with that. They have plenty to do. They have entertainment that comes in and people play and sing, bingo, all the activities, a puzzle room, and they can get vegetables out of the garden during the year. They were all expensive. All the places wanted an additional $1000 to $1300 more and this place is providing all of that care for the same price as we were quoted when we went in. I'm happy with the value. I'm very happy with the facility. I'm very happy with everything they had and she likes it. She didn't think she would at first and now she likes it. Like anything else, they have to get used to the change in life. Her room is nice. She brought a lot of her stuff from her room. It looks like home in her room.

We chose Cadence at Wake Forest for mom for a couple of reasons. It's close to where my sister lives and we found the place and the people there to be very helpful, courteous and just, in general, we're very pleased with what we saw. She had a one-bedroom, and we thought our mother would be more comfortable in that environment. They had gaming rooms for playing cards, a small library, and a room for movie viewing. That's pretty much it. They had other activities there, the knitting and crocheting and all of those things, but the thing that she was interested in particularly was the gaming. They had several small outside areas around the building. The staff was very good. She enjoyed the food that she had, but she wasn't there very long before she had an issue and went back to the hospital. She was satisfied. It's a very nice facility. The building looked really good from the outside. It's clean, and they seemed well-organized internally. I would be willing to stay there. These places have different ways of pricing for their medical staff and different ways of pricing for the rooms, and when all was said and done, it came to almost the same number in the other places that we looked at. We're happy with it.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was in Cadence at Wake Forest. It's really pretty, the outside is beautiful, they have a kind of tiered assisted living, where you start with independent living, then you go to assisted, and you can move up to memory care, so they have different levels, which is nice. But the communication was really horrible, it could not seem like we were informed of really honestly, for someone who was going in for the first time into a care facility especially somebody with dementia or Alzheimer's who's already frightened to death about where they're going or what's happening. There were so many things that they didn't communicate to us when we were signing papers, and when we were asking questions, they gave us paperwork, but it just seemed like you couldn't get any answers really correctly, so it's just communication. When we picked her up from Cadence, she had broken her arm while she was there, she had fallen, they did not attend to her as we believe they should have, so that was not good. The communication there with that was really difficult, trying to get her to a hospital, and so we pulled her out of there, we didn't feel very comfortable. The staff always seemed like they did not want to take your phone call or that you were bothering them, I didn't like that at all. The main people, the people who bring you in, there were two ladies who were really kind when we got there as far as bringing mom in, and making sure she was getting to her room, and all that stuff. They were kind, and needed to do window visits which was nice, so there were some nice things, but overall, I would not rate them highly at all. It was extremely expensive, it was a horrific deal for us, I think they had a very unorganized staff.

They are always short staffed and very greedy! They leave residents sitting on the couch all day long! The place only looks good on the outside. But staff doesn’t care about anything. Never leave your loved ones at this terrible place!!

My wife's parents were at Carillon of Wake Forest for over 3 years. Both passed away in the last year and we could not have found a better facility for them to spend their last years together. We never expected any facility to be perfect but always found managers to be responsive to any concerns we expressed. The best testimony we can give is that were kept them at Carillon for 3 years and we do not hesitate to recommend Carillon to friends and family considering assisted living or memory care. We witnessed a high level of care and compassion from the facility staff, management and corporate management. They truly made it possible for my wife's parents to live out their last 3 years being well care for, in a clean and well maintained facility, and surrounded by people who had genuine concern for their welfare. Mark F., Executive Director was always available to talk with us, quick to respond to our concerns, and great expertise in elder care. We have a great sense of gratitude and appreciation for the staff at Carillon of Wake Forest and the challenging job they face daily. Well done good and faithful servants!

Pretty outside but all fake! Poor management! Give big promises but fail to deliver. Always cutting corners. Never put anyone you care about in this horrible place.

Worst place to put anyone you love! The management is AWFUL! Greed rules this place. Horribly understaffed all the times to save on salaries. Residents suffer falls & don’t get fed in time.

The facility is clean and doesn't have the odor that a lot of facilities have. Ms.Darlene the resident care coordinator is awesome. She always answers all of my questions and addresses any concerns I may have. There are always activities for the residents to do and weekly outings. My mother has enjoyed being at this facility.

I want to thank the staff at Carillon Wake Forest for their quality care and concern for my mother. I am there frequently and am greeted every time by multiple staff members, and they are always available to answer questions. The entire staff is excellent.

We really liked and were impressed by Carillon. It was new and pricier but worth the money. They had nurses on staff. The residents had personal call buttons, and they tested it to let us see how it worked. They showed us the rooms and the furniture. Not all of the rooms had a microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator, but you can bring them. If you're hungry in the middle of the night, they can bring food to you. The menu looked very good. The staff was very friendly, very supportive, and very helpful. They had a program that, if you run out of money, they will accept Medicaid.

We visited Carillon Assisted Living of Wake Forest. The administrator sat down, talked with us, and answered all our questions. The staff that worked there was very friendly and engaged with the residents. However, I did not think there was even availability with the private rooms, and that was the down side. There were activities. I liked that the administrator of the place called me back to check to see what we were thinking 3 or 4 weeks after our visit. They were checking on us to know if we had any other questions, and I thought that was a nice personal touch.

Prior to my mom moving into Carillon we knew there were communication issues and their policies for communication. Please understand communication policies before moving a loved one anywhere. The policy at Carillon is anyone, anywhere in the facility may answer the phone. This means someone in the Garden (memory unit - in a separate wing) may answer the phone when trying speak to someone in a specific location. I often get transferred to someone who has no idea who my mother is. There is little continuity in communication. My family expressed concerns over this before my mother moved in. We were told "that's the way it is here." I have sat on hold for 10 minutes without ever speaking to an appropriate person.

My father was a resident at Carillon Wake Forest for 5 weeks. We witnessed a rapid decline in his health and demeanor during this short period of time. Medications were mismanaged which resulted in a medical emergency. The Nursing Director took no ownership of the issue...she was more concerned with assigning blame than ensuring that the prescription errors were resolved. Three medical professionals from different practices expressed serious concern about the lack of coordination in prescription medication and prescribed treatment plan for a pressure wound. Additionally, shower assistance was provided only two times during his residency. The staff was always "too busy", We had no choice but to move my father for his safety and well being. Our decision to move my father into this facility was a stressful, deeply upsetting and costly mistake.

I visited this facility

The room was very nice, and it didn't have any odor. The people seemed very friendly. I really like Carillon, and it's near our home here in Wake Forest. They would take them out on trips, and they had a garden in the back which was enclosed. They couldn't get out, and that section would be for dementia. I was just so overwhelmed with how the people were and the people that I saw. They were smiling, and they didn't look like zombies. It would be a good place if I ever had to put mom in a place. What impressed me so much was their cleanliness.

Be careful. Prior to move in, the director professed open communication. Afterwards, it is difficult to reach him or his staff by phone or email. They do not return phone calls. They say that they do not receive emails. The non-management staff is much better.

Carillon was neat, clean, bright, and cheery. It is so new, and I want to watch them a little bit longer probably because they had just opened in the last six months.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Carillon Assisted Living is a brand new facility, and actually my mom is resident number one. She has a beautiful room, and they seemed to be highly qualified. The staff members are all very helpful and very enabling. Her room is semi-private. It has a shared entrance and kind of a kitchen area, a small common area, and then it separates into two living areas and a shared bath. They have daily exercise, they do arts and crafts, they take baking, they do little road trips for the residents, and they have bingo. So there are quite a few things as we understand. We've tried the food a few times, and it seems very consistent, very good, and very nutritious.
