I visited this facility

We're moving into Discovery Village Vero Beach. I liked that the apartments were large compared to the other ones that I've seen. They were very, very spacious. What we took was a one-bedroom with a den. So I could still make it a two-bedroom by getting a sofa bed, so I didn't have to pay the extra fee for a two bedroom. I could use that extra room when my daughter comes to visit me. They have three meals a day, and they're going to do my husband's laundry and clean the apartment. All of that is under assisted living. The food was very good too. They gave us lunch and the food was excellent. The dining area was very spacious, very nice, and very clean. Angela was excellent. They have a beauty parlor, a craft room, a movie theater, a heated pool, and they have an exercise room.

I went to Discovery Village Vero Beach. It was a nice community, and they had nice facilities. It was an older facility that was probably apartments or something else converted into a retirement community. The layout was good. It was very nice but old. I know they had activities, but nothing stood out. The staff were very nice. They're good staff. The price was very good and very reasonable.

Discovery Village Vero Beach was very nice. They are going through the remodeling process at the moment. Their rooms are a very nice size compared to other places that we've looked at. The tour guide was very nice and concerned about the welfare of my mother. She actually checks back with you. They have cards, ice cream nights, and happy hours. They had live music and a full-size pool. It's got a lift for people who can't go down into the pool. The physical appearance from the outside was good. The entrance as you came in had some little ponds.

Everybody at Discovery Village Vero Beach was very inviting from the moment we walked in. They were actually having a little social hour and they immediately included my mother and invited her to come over, which I thought was nice, because we were waiting for the representative that was going to take us around. One of the other things the lady mentioned was that when they bring a new person in, they assign an ambassador, somebody who is a resident there that helps introduce them to other residents about things, so it's somebody their age that's introducing them to groups. I thought that was really a nice feature. The thing that I think was a little overwhelming for us and my mom is how many places we've walked to, which if you were there as a resident, you wouldn't try to do all that in one day. It's big, but everybody that we interacted with was very helpful. The room sizes were very nice. I think she said almost all of them have a screened-in porch on them, which is very nice, that's available as well, and then the amenities that they have. We were very impressed with that. Everybody that we interacted with was a five. The community directors that were there immediately just encouraged my mother to come join them while we were waiting, and I was very impressed by that. She talked to me about meals and she went over everything. If you don't want the two main offerings that they have, you can still order something smaller on the side. They accommodate to do that, but we did not personally get to taste the food. It looks like they have quite a bit there to offer the residents, and they're bringing in new things as people bring things up like the different exercise classes, the games that they're playing, etc.

We toured the Discovery Village Vero Beach, but we were not really thrilled with that. They're trying to improve it, but it looked older. Even the quality of the work that they're having done wasn't really great, like the landscapes and things like that, they just look OK. The apartments were awfully small and the amount of closet space was unbelievably small. They mix their independent and assisted among the rooms and so forth there. They can work on improving their landscaping and appearance by updating things. The staff that we talked to seemed friendly and introduced themselves to you while you were walking through. The fitness center was not up to par at all, it was very tiny, and there was nothing much in there, but they said they're gonna improve it.

Discovery Village Vero Beach was very nice. That was the one I was going to go to until I went to see the other place. I was at an open house, and I talked to some residents there, and everyone liked it. The only thing was that there was like a pile-up of people waiting to get seated when the dinner was being served. A lot of the people had walkers, and it was hard to get around, and they were all sitting in the reception area. It didn't look right, but they were all talking and happy. They opened the doors of the cafeteria where they eat and they would just bring them in then. I didn't try their food. They had appetizers at the open house and I did have that, and it was good. I met a lot of the staff. They seemed to all be really good and very helpful. There wasn't one that was kind of rude or too busy or anything. When you talk to them, they talk to you. They're not like in a hurry or had to get out of there. They answered your questions. I liked the rooms. It used to be a condominium and they were spacious rooms. They bought it and revamped it into a health facility. They had the biggest rooms and they were nice.

I toured Discovery Village Vero Beach. I like their porches the most. But I saw one sliding glass door that was quite old and not in very good shape. The staff who gave me the tour was very helpful. I like the layout. They showed me a one-bedroom with a den and a two-bedroom. They have quite a few activities. They have movies and outings. They have a beauty parlor. The chapel is to be renovated, but they have one. They also have an art room and a swimming pool.

I'm moving into Discovery Village Vero Beach next week. The only person that I dealt with was the one who showed me around. All the people there seemed to like the place. It was all-inclusive. I didn't have to pay for anything. I'd get 3 meals a day. I'm getting a one bedroom with a bath and a half and a small kitchen. The dining room had several round tables that looked very clean. They had a wait staff, and the menu looked great. They had a lot of activities. They had exercise programs, a weight room, movies a couple of times a week, a whole crafts section, bingo a couple of times a week, and card games. They had a big pool, a big exercise room, and physical therapists that came in. They had a hairdresser that came twice a week, which you pay for. They had more than I wanted to do. The grounds were beautiful, and everything looked well taken care of.

Discovery Village Vero Beach was very good and very clean. The staff was very kind, but it was too expensive. The facility was very nice, although it needs some updating, like the elevators, overall, it was clean and that's the most important. It was quiet also. The elevators were kind of old. The lady said that they were going to update it in the near future. The units have different prices. The one with the den was very pricy. The one without the den was still pricy. The facility was nice and everything, but it's not luxurious to have that kind of price of $3500 a month. It's just too much. They have many levels for the people. My father was categorized as level one because he can bathe himself and he can use the walker. Even though he's in the first stages of dementia, he still can understand and reason somewhat, although he needs to be reminded to take his meds. They are a $500 increment if the patient gets to the second level of care. They go up to levels three and four, to the point that they cannot be there anymore, and they have to be transferred to a home. They have activities, they take them shopping, they have a big dining room, and they celebrate birthdays and holidays like Christmas. They said they have an excellent chef, even though I did not try the lunch. The staff was very nice, very informative, and answered our questions.

We like Discovery Village Vero Beach, but we didn't care for the food. The rooms were very nice. They updated a lot of it. They had a lot of activities. It was one that we were considering at one time, but my husband doesn't want to move. The staff during the tour seemed very nice. They had crafts rooms, swimming activities, and exercise. She gave us the menu of the week when we were there and I didn't care for it. It's a very nice facility though.

Discovery Village Vero Beach was a beautiful place. It just went through over a million-dollar renovation. It's all very nicely, brightly painted. They have beautiful pictures on the wall. It has a lot of windows. There's a lot of light in every apartment. For assisted living, you have your own apartment and then they have levels of extra care. It wasn't that expensive because it was only $3020 a month and then for extra care, you start at $500 a month, but what's included is a lot. They include housekeeping, doing your laundry, checking up on you, and you have a necklace that you wear with a button on it. Anytime you need help, you just push the button, and they come right up and help. Their dining room was gorgeous. Their menu was like a five-star restaurant. They had Chicken Marsala and lemon pepper sauce. They had very good things on their menu. The staff was very pleasant, very informative, and very patient with all your questions. We were there for over an hour and she was very helpful with other things that we needed to look into. Even if we didn't pick that place, she was helpful with other ideas for us. We were told to come back today for a free lunch and an assessment, but we didn't want to do that assessment being that we weren't sure if that's where we were going to place him. Everything is brand new. They have a brand new pool, they play bingo, they have music on, and they have a piano. There were lots of activities. They have transportation to stores and medical appointments. She said on Fridays, a group of people goes out to lunch at different restaurants in town.

I will be moving in. I just liked everything about it. It was nice and clean. The rooms were good sized. The price was right. Even though it's in the process of being sold, I liked the people that I met. The food was good. It just seemed like everything that I wanted was right there in that one place. It's in the process of having some things finished like the movie theater is being redone and the exercise room, but the parts that I saw that were done were excellent. The staff was very nice. I met the activities lady, I met the lady that's in charge of getting people in, and the chef came out and met us. Everybody we met was just very nice. They met my expectations. They showed me what I needed to see and they were very personable and introduced me to people. I don't have anything negative to say. It was very friendly. I felt a little bit on display like when you're the new kid on the block and everybody's sort of checking you out. They had an arts and crafts room, a game room, a chapel, a room for computer stuff, a nice big swimming pool with a lift to put you down into the water if you can't walk, and a beauty shop.

I really liked here in particular; but to me, it seemed like there was a lot of walking. The apartments were very nice. Majority of the facility had just been remodeled, but the rooms themselves haven't been fixed up yet. Most of the staff seemed extremely cheerful. A lot of the residents stopped the woman who was giving the sales presentation, and they greeted and/or hugged her. It had a very energetic vibe. The people that were hanging in the lobby weren't just like sleeping in a chair or something. They were playing card games. They were sitting around chatting. Everybody was alert, and I liked that about it. I liked the individual balconies or patios. It's nice that you have a little bit of outside. They gave me tickets for free meals when I came back with my mom and my sister. They made my top 4 cut. It seemed as if most of the residents were running around, very cheerful, and very willing to stop and say hello. Everyone was masked, which I personally appreciated having PD and COPD. If they cleaned up the mysterious stain on the floor, I would be happier. I am very impressed with the little countertop outside of everyone's apartment door that they can decorate or people can leave things for them. It seemed like a very active friendly community.

I went through a tour. They had a big open house that day, which was kind of interesting; and they had all kinds of other visitors there. They were in a promotion mode with all these other visitors. The present residents also were involved. I was impressed with the facility and the renovations they had done on the property were significant. They were still doing more that hadn't been completed, but it was positive. I enjoyed it, and I learned a lot. I met with a lady, Meredith, she was very helpful. I was impressed with the facility and the people. They had just completed a lot of renovations to the various residence rooms and the facilities. There were parts of the facility they were still working on, but they had very definite plans and they showed me where it was right now, which you could physically see. They also showed what they're planning on doing. So, from a business perspective, they had it together.

I went a few weeks ago. It seems very nice, it's much smaller than what I have now. The layout is very nice, they've just redone it. They have one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments and they all have balconies, and they serve all three meals. They played cards, bingo, and the swimming pool was being redone. The lady I talked to was very nice.

I toured and pretty much, I was just shown the model. The way they do it is you go as far as the lobby. They have a model upstairs. You don't go very far. They were very nice. They were very spacious. The particular one the lady showed me was a two-bedroom sharing unit. They had where you can live by yourself or with a roommate. I only came in contact with two people, and they were very nice. They happened to be in a remodel. Some areas were closed off, but it seemed to be nice.

We looked here for my mother. The apartments were pretty big and roomy. It was big space, and they're just remodeling, so the common area is looking really updated. They're changing the feel of the place, so it looks less like a home, and more like you're walking into an office building or a hotel where it has reception separately. You walk into a reception desk rather than behind the glass of a medical facility. They changed the feel of it. Independent living and assisted living are both in the same place. They are both in building one. The independent living is just physically separate, but the dependent living is in the same building; it is just on the other side. They bring medical facility into the community, like they bring the podiatrist in there, so you don't have to leave to go do regular appointments. That's a big plus. They have really good service on that end. They bring the service to them, and they're just a spitting distance away from the shopping area.

My tour was fantastic. I want to live in there myself. The gentleman and the lady who took us on the tour were great and very informative. The apartments were beautiful even though they were doing a lot of remodeling. It just seemed so homey. Everybody seemed to be fairly relaxed, at peace, and happy. The place looked nice, and it seemed to be very easy to find your way around. The staff was excellent.

So far, it has been great. My aunt has moved into assisted living. Everything there is great. The staff and the services have been good, and the amenities are good too. We don't have anything to complain about. The food has been great. The facility's overall condition is great. She is not into activities because she is 95 years old.

Moved in 2-3 years ago. Had excellent food and lots of activities with a bus that took us to great restaurants and places (ex: zoo). We were just starting to redecorate the entire building when Covid hit everywhere. Hence, we are in limbo --- we eat in our rooms --- dislike that, but no choice. They have done a great job since Covid. I look forward to getting back to normal here.

Since our quarantine began here in March 2020 and the incidence of positive Covid-19 cases has been only about 3 or 4, I have felt safe here. Meals have been delivered 3 times every single day and all were acceptable. Isolation is getting wearisome, but I'm doing OK after my eye surgery.

It is very nice, and it's very easy to get there, but we couldn't go inside. However, we saw another apartment, it was open, and it was facing the yard. They're very nice and roomy, and she's going to share the room. There's two bedrooms, two baths, a nice kitchen, and a nice balcony. The only problem is it's a little too far from me. The room we saw was downstairs, but hers would be one floor up. The size was excellent for two people, the bedroom especially was nice and big, and the bathroom was very nice. I liked it very much. They have a pool, a library, and a hair salon. The staff was very nice, wonderful, and very pleasant.

It is nice. The people are nice, too. I don't participate in many activities, but I like the sitting exercise. They have one at 11 a.m. for about half an hour or so. I understand that there are many people that they have to prepare food for, so you can't expect a home-cooking meal in the community living. I could see that people are complaining but people complain about anything anywhere. Nevertheless, they clean each room at least once a week and they do a good job.

For different people to come in and stay two or three nights, they have that arranged, so you don't have any problems. Cleanliness is pretty nice; we are pleased with it. There is a bathroom and a small kitchen in the room, too. We think it is pretty good. The staff members do a very good job. I found them pleasant and nice. We haven't been here that long to get involved in activities too much, but so far, it has been pretty good. We are pleased and we like it here. The place is nice, and the people are very nice. It works really nice. Food is pretty good, too. We like it. We are pleased with what we have here.

The location was great. The grounds were beautiful and there were lots of lakes. It was very spread out and big though. I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the hallways. The common areas needed to be vacuumed. There were stains on the furniture in the lobby. They had assisted living in the same building down at the other wing. The rooms in the independent living are apartment type and spacious, but they didn't have anything on the first floor at the time. My mom had to go downstairs in the elevator every time she walks her dog, and everywhere you went was a long walk. They had a craft room, convenience store, cards and different games, and a pool. The residents seemed very friendly and happy.

My mother is a resident. It's an older and very large community, but it's very homey compared to other places and my mom felt very comfortable here. They have activities like going on day trips, card games, and movie nights a couple of nights a week. They also bring in music and entertainment, dominoes, and horseracing on Wednesdays using wood horses on sticks; everybody gets so into it. She gets three meals a day, her laundry done, help with showering every other day, and help picking out her clothes every day. They are very good with helping her find her way around because it is a large community. They have independent living on one side and assisted living on the other, but they intermingle and the people from assisted living can go to eat at the independent living dining room if they want. They give the residents their main meal at lunch time, and it's always very good, but dinner is not as good as lunch.

My experience here was excellent. I was very pleased. It was clean and comfortable, and the people were friendly. They had a pool, a salon, nurses on-site, a barber shop, a drugstore, a craft room, a card room, and a chapel for church services. The dining area looked like a large, fine-dining restaurant. It looked like it could easily accommodate a couple of hundred people. There were tablecloths, cloth napkins, sparkling glassware, flowers on each table, and huge glass chandeliers. It was quite elegant. People could choose different foods if they did not want the featured menu.

It was very nice. The atmosphere was pleasant, and people were nice. They have independent living as well as assisted living and pet-friendly. They were very obliging and very helpful. It was an older building, but it was well located within a very quiet and pretty residential area that was gated, so you drive through that gated area first before getting to the place itself, which made for a lot of security. It was very attractive and very quiet. It was made up of little, upper-middle-class townhomes. The apartments were of a good size with two bedrooms, which is what I was looking for in a place. Also nice: they have functioning kitchens.

This facility has lots of things for resident's to occupy their time and seems a little more relaxed (but not lax in caretaking) than some places we visited. The staff is friendly and up-beat and the residents seemed more lively, more interested in what was going on around them. The dining arrangements were top flight and the menu seemed more than adequate. The little chapel and Bible study group is something that my Mother-in Law wants to have available to her and she can bring her small dog!
