We try to go above and beyond expectations for all of our residents and families. We strive for 100% satisfaction, and we regret to find out that this was not the case. We offer a variety of family activities for our residents, such as fun family nights, brain games, exercise classes and more! We have a fantastic Executive-Chef-who prepares delicious meals with a variety of menu options. We are always looking for ways to improve and if you would be willing, we would like to speak with you. Q: Describe your community's overall population of assisted living residents. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
A: The average age of our residents is in their 80's. Our residents enjoy music, arts, crafts, gardening, outings and socializing with one another.
Q: What places are near the community or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
A: Nearby shopping and dining are available at multiple grocers and restaurants. We also have close proximity to multiple senior community centers including: The Luepke & Marshall Center, The Firstenburg Center, The YMCA.
Q: What programs or activities do you offer to enrich your residents’ well-being?
A: We offer a 7 day per week life enrichment program! Including group and one-on-one activities and outings to dining, shopping, and entertainment. Monthly and weekly activities include: Entertainers, music, holiday events, arts & crafts, games, gardening, charitable programming, and much more.
Q: What transportation services do you offer to assisted living residents?
A: We offer transportation to medical appointments within a 10 mile radius. We also offer transportation for planned group activities such as: Scenic drives, shopping, dining, and entertainment.
Q: What makes your chef or dining program exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted residents expect?
A: Pacifica Vancouver is the only assisted living community in Vancouver with an open-concept, dine-in kitchen experience. Our residents can observe and speak directly with our chefs as they prepare food the way each resident prefers.
Q: What safety features or security measures do you offer to your assisted living residents?
A: Each resident has a personal pendant to page our staff with any need or request they may have. For security, our campus has a gated perimeter which is secured outside of business hours. Additionally, each cottage has key coded access for after hours security and has staff on duty 24/7.
Q: How do you keep residents’ families informed about their loved ones?
A: We keep our families informed by updating them with ongoing activities and frequent calls and emails about the daily life of their loved ones. In addition, we will call or meet with families any time there is a change of condition with a resident. We also schedule quarterly care conferences to discuss these changes and coordinate any desired or needed aspect of services.
Q: What is your community's care staff-to-resident ratio during daytime and nighttime hours?
A: We maintain a CNA or HCA to resident ratio of 1 staff to every 8 residents, or better, on daytime and evening hours.(6:00 AM - 10:00 PM) During nighttime hours we maintain a ratio of 1 staff to every 12 residents. (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
Q: If your community accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
A: We have a gated perimeter and pets are allowed anywhere outside as long as they are on leash and each pet owner cleans up after his/her pet. Pets are also allowed anywhere indoors, excluding dining rooms, as long as they are on leash and behaving appropriately.
Q: What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
A: All direct care staff and Med Techs working at Pacifica Senior Living Vancouver are either Certified Nursing Assistants (NA-C) or certified Home Care Aides (HCA). In addition, all staff receive initial job specific training and on-the-job shadowing as well as facility specific general orientation. Staff also receive 12 hours of ongoing education, specific to senior care, annually in addition to monthly topics covered at All Staff meetings.
Q: What safety features or security measures do you provide to protect residents who wander?
A: Residents who wander safely within our community but are not exit-seeking are checked frequently by staff and assessed for their appropriateness as needed by our on staff Registered Nurse. Residents who are exit-seeking are provided with one-on-one companionship and monitoring until a suitable and agreeable alternate living situation can be arranged.
