I visited this facility

I went to look at Heatheridge Assisted Living. I think they could paint and brighten it up. It's a little dingy and dark. They need some refreshing and little updates to make it look clean. The apartments we saw were good. The staff was very friendly, explained things very well, and answered any questions we had. They were really good. The dining area was nice, big, and spacious.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law moved to Heatheridge Assisted Living. We chose it because it felt like a home rather than a hotel or a hospital or some weird combination of the two. The people there were just amazing. They were so caring and compassionate and bent over backward and worked so hard trying to get everything ready so that we could get my mother-in-law into a safe and caring situation. They have just been awesome. From the minute I walked in, on my first visit, with no clear benefit to themselves, they provided me with books and materials and some information that helped me to help her make the choices that she needed to make and have the conversations that she needed to have. They were interested in helping me. That was the first impression that I got, that they were just genuinely wanting to help and they have followed through with that at every turn. I have not had their food but dinner sure smelled good last night and more importantly, she likes their food. We've brought in things for her room and she'll be getting more. So, she'll be able to have her own things around her. Her room fits everything she needs to be comfortable, and some of the pieces from her home that were important to her. So, the room is adequate. It's about 300 square feet. She hasn't gotten involved with activities very much, but there have been a couple of groups that has been touring around and have reached out to her like a karaoke group and another singing group. She has joined in with them a little bit, and they made her very welcomed.

Provider Response

Linda, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're thrilled to hear that your mother-in-law has found a comfortable and caring home with us. Our team is dedicated to providing a warm and supportive environment for all of our residents, and it's wonderful to hear that you've felt that from the moment you walked in. We’re a community that thrives on the connections and friendships that are formed here, and we’re so pleased that she’s been able to participate in some of our group activities and feel welcomed.

I liked the vibe that Heatheridge Residential Care & Assisted Living had. The residents seemed like they were having a good time. I liked that they had little menus on the tables because with my mom being very, very picky sometimes, she can just go in there and order herself a cheeseburger, which was an option for her. I liked the room set up. They were nice. I liked the care. They have beauty shops, and doctors on site, and they would take her to and from appointments. I just liked all the perks that came with what they offer. When I first got there, it was a gentleman whom I met. The tour we had was awesome because that was my first tour and I was overwhelmed with this new little journey that I and my mom are going through. They were just outstanding and I could tell that they care about their residents and they care about the residents' families. The dining room was nice. It was kind of set up on restaurant tables. You could have up to four at each table. They were spaced out well, yet you could talk to your neighbor if you want to do so. The outside was nice and clean. It was a nice property.

I really liked Heatheridge Residential Care & Assisted Living very much. I went to both independent and assisted living. I was impressed with just about everything: the rooms, the gathering rooms, the things to do, and the eating area. The people were very nice. The staff I've dealt with was great. They were in the process of remodeling and still doing some. I didn't get to taste anything, but they sent me home with a bag of cookies. They showed me one outdoor area where my sister could take her dog, so that was good. I saw the one-bedroom and a studio, and they were very nice. The size was very workable. They weren't doing anything because of COVID. Everybody was in their rooms, but they had a room with games that my sister would like. They had a room with a piano. They just seemed to have a variety for everybody.

We went to Heatheridge Residential Care & Assisted Living. They are in the process of remodeling every room as the residents move out. So that's nice. So if you get a brand new room, they're working hard to make their physical facility updated and upgraded. They admit right off the bat that they are not a brand new facility. They know that, but they make up for it in their staff, and in the way that they want to connect and relate with the residents. The main lady there did an amazing job of connecting with us. She made a gift bag for my mom based on the interview on the phone before we even got there and she made a gift bag for me based on what I said on the phone. She had those ready for us when we walked in the door, it was nice. My mom is vegan and has very specific food requirements or needs or desires, and she met all of those in the gift bag and worked hard to show me that they could meet my mom's needs. That was nice. A musician was just setting up, a band of musicians was going to give them a little concert. He was just setting up as we were there that day, too. So they had a schedule, all their events and lots of fun things that they do with the residents in a very, very cool little spot too. They have a gardening area where the residents like to grow tomatoes and roses and different vegetables. I remember that was one thing. They're definitely involved with the outdoors and I saw a courtyard, just lots of different things that they could be involved in.

I went on an in-person tour of Heatheridge Assisted Living & Residential Care. I really liked it, and I loved the interaction with the staff and residents. The only thing that worried me is that they weren't on official lockdown, which I don't understand. She tried to explain it to me, but they just weren't as locked down as the other facilities, and it was an older place than the others. I think the staff is great, but I think the building was kind of shabby. The staff is very accommodating, and they gave me a little food basket, so I could taste their food. I didn't get the whole meal, but they gave me one of their desserts, but they offered me to come back, let my mom tour, and they're gonna give us a boxed lunch so she can try the food. I thought that was pretty neat. The rooms were clean, and the dining room looked restaurant type.

This facility, while not new and fancy, is very clean and very well-maintained and very reasonably priced for the level of care that is given. The staff, including the administrative staff, nurse, CNAs, housekeepers, kitchen staff, and maintenance man, are all very kind and caring to the residents. The residents are treated with dignity as the adults that they are. The food is not fancy, but good, and the residents can order from a menu or have the daily special, and guests are encouraged to visit and share meals. There are a lot of activities in which to participate, and the residents are offered an outside excursion at least weekly on a wheelchair equipped bus. There are also special activities such as cookouts for Father's Day, special family Thanksgiving meals, and a big holiday party. My father-in-law was very happy there and made friends quickly which helped to ease the transition.

My Mom lives in Heatheridge and we are very happy with her care. The entire staff from admin, to food service, to housekeeping, to nursing is very caring and dedicated to her comfort and care. She gets seen several times a day whether to get her meds, clean her room, or give her a bath and all the staff are diligent and friendly in their interactions with her. Her room is nice and clean, although would like the bathroom to be a bit bigger. The food is pretty good too. I can always find something to eat and mom can too. They even make special meals for her when she requests them.

My mother-in-law lives there and loves it. Her room is awesome. She has a living area, bedroom area as well as her table and chairs. She had fun decorating to just her style. All the staff is wonderful, and caring. There are so many activities for her to do. The dining room is so nice and the food is good. We love to visit her there. We love having dinner with her.

I like their cleanliness and the nice rooms that they had. They were not really large where a single man would have a hard time taking care of one, but just enough for him to have things and to have what he needed there. The food was delicious. They do have a lot of activities. They would provide ways for him to go to the doctor, and the church which would mean a lot to him. They also have people come in and entertain them. They had a beautiful screened-in porch with swings on it, and that's something that I love and really got my attention. They seemed to have everything that they need there, and they were very caring. Heatheridge would have been our favorite.

My father is in Heatheridge. He has friends that live there, and he chose it. It is pretty good. I cannot think of anything bad about it at all or even negative. It is very clean. The people are really great. They have transportation to appointments or you can use the doctor that comes there once a week. They have 3 meals a day, and then if you want a sandwich or something small like that, you can just request it and they will bring it to you. They offer bingo. They have sing-a-longs almost every night, which my dad likes. They have bridge and outings once or twice a week where they take them to the local stores. They have movie nights and popcorns. They have a lot of stuff.

The staff at Heatheridge is excellent. They are very attentive, available, and responsible. My husband is happy there, and I don’t have any complaints. There are tons of activities but he doesn’t participate; he’s not interested in that. They have all kinds of stuff everyday - they do crafts, they do sing-alongs and people come in to perform music. It’s small; it’s not a real big community. I think they only have 75 residents. It’s very clean and very well kept. It has a homey atmosphere, and I think part of that is because of the size. I looked at some other ones that were really large. At Heatheridge everybody kind of knows everyone.

My mom is in Heatheridge. It is upscale and very nice. The residents seem overwhelmingly very happy and we like the staff. They are happy and they seem to want to be around the elderly residents. They seem to be very willing to help. The rooms are very nice and very well kept. They have great food. The residents actually meet every month and they can vote with what they want to have for dinner and what's in their menu for the month. They have activities like art classes, games, discussions and they have adjacent facility as well that the residents can go to. They also have trips to museum and have visitors once a month. All around it is really great.

I felt very at home during my visit to Heatheridge Assisted Living. The grounds were very up kept inside and out. The staff was also extremely friendly. When I arrived my group was split into two groups. The staff seemed eager to show us around while we were there. We were taken to a vacant living area so we could see what the quarters looked like. I spoke with a gentleman who stayed there about his feelings regarding the facility. He had many great things to say. The only negative thing I can think of about the trip was that the man I spoke with was unhappy with the number of activities available in the area.

I visited this facility

I recently went to the facility to visit a family friend and was impressed by the service that he received. It was clean and well put together with acceptable. There was even a program available where residents could complete things like bucket lists and go on trips. There were many activities available for him to do which kept him alert and happy. The only reason why this facility wouldn't get 5 stars is because it can be hard for some people to get into the facility. Even with this one flaw there are many other good things about the facility. Their online website helped describe the many things they do. There were testimonials, dining room plans, and even floor plans. The atmosphere of the facility was cheery by itself. I would recommend this facility (and any others associated with it) to my friends and family. It's just a great place.
