I loved The Grove at Midtown Senior Living, but it was kind of expensive. It was very pretty. It had a big room. It had all the amenities that you would want. It had a courtyard. It had a closed-in porch around that you could sit out there. The staff was very nice and very informative.

I had an in-person tour of The Grove at Midtown. They don't do Medicare and Medicaid. There was nothing I disliked about it. The place was bright, cheery, nice, and clean. The rooms were all exceptionally nice. Everything was nice. They have a screened porch and a little courtyard. It's a beautiful facility.

Provider Response

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother had vascular dementia and COPD when we put her in this facility. She was in this facility for one month and ended up in the hospital twice during this time before she passed away. Once for falling out of her bed and the second she got pneumonia. When she was released the second time she was put on a special diet, which I found myself that they were not following the doctors' orders. I was also there one time and went to leave and there was no staff around, someone was trying to get in by ringing the doorbell, I was walking the hall and couldn't find any staff. Finally, after about 5 minutes someone came to let us out. All the residents where in one room with no staff to be found. I talked with the head nurse about her hospital visit and we found out at the same time that her medical file had a lot of incorrect information, including nothing about her special diet (she wasn't supposed to be drinking liquids) and they were giving her liquids. They also had her as a widow, which she was not. I was told that the lady InCharge of the facility would give me a call regarding not seeing any staff on the 3rd floor, never received a call about my concerns. Even after my mother passed away my dad had to pay another month for the facility (7K). I guess her passing wasn't enough notice.

Provider Response

I visited The Grove at Midtown Senior Living. It was good. I met with the staff and she got some history on my mom. The place was nice and clean. She took me up to see a studio one like a single bedroom room like what I was asking for my mother, which was good. They had other floor plans. I think they had a studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom to choose from. I sat in a courtyard for the interview and then they showed us the courtyard outside. There was a front lobby area that I walked through. The dining room was nice. I think there were two side-by-side dining rooms where they were doing some activities when we walked through.

We will be moving Mom to The Grove at Midtown Senior Living. I chose them for their location, good reviews, and the price was affordable. The grounds are beautiful. It seems newer and updated, fresh and inviting. The outdoor spaces are beautiful and very well maintained. I've only met the front desk lady and the sales associate, and they were very helpful, very knowledgeable, and very pleasant. My first impression is I think that it will be a good fit for her needs.

Provider Response

Teddie, we are so thrilled that you have chosen us for your mom! You can be sure that she will be welcomed with open arms and will soon feel very much a part of our community family! Your kind and thoughtful words are such an encouragement to our entire team. Thanks for sharing! We look forward to seeing you on a future visit!

I like The Grove at Midtown Senior Living for my friend. The staff members I met were very cordial and very nice. I like the arrangement they have there in their shared rooms. It's two rooms and they share a bathroom. The dining area was very nice, neat, and clean. As for activities, they had an aerobics class when we got there.

I liked the atmosphere at The Grove at Midtown Senior Living. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions. They have a lot of great amenities, especially in the memory care unit. They have a salon, and then they have a lot of activities. They also have an outdoor area for the residents to go to. Both the upkeep and cleanliness are very good.

The Grove at Midtown Senior Living was a very nice area. They've got very nice people. They contacted us every week, no matter what, to see how my mom was doing even when she was in the hospital. They have a little bit of a hotel vibe. It has some of the hotel-ish kitchens, but it's still very good quality. They had average activities, nothing late, nothing early, just basic activity stuff, but I didn't see a lot of it. They showed us a couple of rooms that were in transition, being cleaned and revamped, so there was some dirt and they're redoing the carpet. It's not perfect right now, but they're getting it fixed.

The Grove at Midtown Senior Living was very engaged. I had an opportunity to meet the health and wellness professional that works there and she was very outgoing and very involved with the memory care residents. There was a group of seniors who were with the activity director and she was passionate about what she was doing. I liked that they had a smaller number of residents and that they had a lot more staff on the floor with them. The room was nice, the grounds were nice, and the employees were super nice, informative, and gave me a lot of information. They were very outgoing and very, very knowledgeable. I liked that the dining room was also smaller, it made it more intimate.

The Grove at Midtown Senior Living would be a great place for an adult to receive care and housing. They had good activities and dining. The staff was kind and she did her job well. I was accommodated well, and she explained all the conditions in their facility. They have a choice of a studio or a one-bedroom apartment, and they look accommodating.

My friend moved into The Grove at Midtown Senior Living. I think they need more help, but I'm pretty happy with it. They're very kind and very caring and they seem to be on top of things. They've just been remodeled, so they're nice. Her room is small. It has one twin bed, a chair, a table with a TV, and a closet, and it has a connected kitchen for her and the lady that's next to her. It's got a bathroom also that connects the two. She's very particular and she's liked almost all the food that they've had. The activities have been great. They have bingo, which she likes. They had a Hawaiian party for them and they went all out for that. They have people that come and sing and play the guitar for them. They have a chaplain and they have services on Sundays. They took them to a movie. They went shopping at Wal-Mart. They've done a lot of things.

I toured The Grove at Midtown Senior Living. It was super clean; I think that was probably the biggest highlight. It was a little more updated than the other facility I toured. My mom has some food allergies, and they were able to accommodate allergies way better than the second place I toured. The staff were able to answer all of my questions and called to follow up and see if I needed anything additional. They were very helpful. They have a salon, they have a family dining room where families could meet just to dine with their family members, they have a screened patio, and they have a little movie room.

I toured The Grove at Midtown Senior Living. They have a very friendly staff and very clean facility. The residents were well taken care of. The girl who gave the tour was very helpful with everything I asked. I would even live there if I can. Their rooms had little kitchens. They are like a mini-apartment with everything anyone would need. They had a sitting area outside, which was very nice. The cleanliness was top-notch, and everything was very clean. Their location was OK. It's pretty close to fast food restaurants and things like that. It's in the center of town. It's busy.

My tour was wonderful. We ate dinner in the dining room, and the food was very good. The one problem there is that in the independent living and assisted living quarters, the only water accessible to the person is in the bathroom. The little kitchen area has no water and no sink. There's just a microwave, a refrigerator, and a bar, but no sink. It was originally built to be a hotel, and it was just converted. Our mother said she wants a sink, and that was the reason for our decision not to live there, but the place was lovely. We had supper with the residents, and the three of us that were with our mother sat down in the dining room with the staff touring us. They were very gracious, and the dining area was very nice.

We visited. They offered more times a week, three times a week to take my mother places, like if she needed to go to the doctor or needed to go somewhere. The staff was very nice. They have an Alzheimer's unit, and I liked that I didn't have to move her. The food looked fine; it seemed OK.

I visited this facility

It had three different sizes of rooms, a studio, a one-bedroom with a kitchen area, and a little bit bigger version of the same thing. The size of the room was good, the cleanliness was good, the colors they used were all neutral, and things were easy to clean. It had a smaller memory care area, but it was truly the more traditional assisted living. It's a nice facility, and it used to be a Hilton. It's large, it's very well done, and it sits in a nice area. The people seemed to be quite content there.

My aunt is here. She has been there for I think about a month, and so far, so good. She's happy there. There is a memory care unit, and that's what attracted me to the place. My aunt has dementia, and I think it will be an easy transition for when her condition progresses a little more. The staff assists us very well, and we're very pleased. She has a one-bedroom unit. There are a lot of activities. The facility has a library, an activity room, a crafts room, a physical therapy room, and a workout room. In addition to the main dining room, there is what is called a country kitchen. The residents can go there in the morning if they don't want to get dressed and go to the main dining room. There is a nice walking trail. The staff keeps the residents stimulated mentally, and it is done in a way that works for dementia patients.

It was much larger than the other ones I visited. I liked it, but the rooms were small. I liked the director. She was very informative, and she showed me the schedule of the activities for the seniors. As we toured, I could see that the residents were very involved in arts, crafts, and different things such as community outings. The residents that I saw seemed more active, and it would be a place that I would have considered for my parents. The dining was really nice. I did hear a comment from one of the residents that he really liked the food there.

I visited and the people there looked happy. I happened to go in around lunch time, and there were a lot of activities going on. Everybody seemed to be OK I liked that the facilities were clean. I saw people interacting with each other. Some people were reading, others visiting with each other, and things like that. The rooms and staff were really nice. If you were standing around, they would ask if you needed assistance. They were able to show us around the areas and took us to the kitchen.

We got my parent in here. It is going fine. The employees all seem very nice and willing to do whatever they can to make things go as smooth as possible. We saw a couple of communities that were satisfactory, as far as care and activities for the residents, but this one is more of a hotel like atmosphere. It is a three-story versus the typical single-story long hallway that looks like a nursing home only dolled up a little bit. This one has more of a hotel thing, which I think particularly is my mother's taste. She has only been there for a couple of plus, but it is a very strong 4 for me.

My mom moved in. The staff were great and very caring. The rooms were good-sized and she was the single occupant of the room. She started in the assisted living unit and eventually moved to the memory unit, and everything worked great without confusion. I would recommend this facility to other people.

I was impressed with the staff. The facility is a large open area. They have a separate area for memory cases. They have their own separate little dining room enclosed so the patients can't wander off. One of the people who gave me the tour was the cook.
