The Claiborne at Thibodaux

My mom is a resident of The Claiborne at Thibodaux. The appearance is very nice, and she likes her place. They do a good job of taking care of her; she needs a lot of care. They have activities that she can participate in, and they let me know when I can go there also. They go out to eat, or they do bingo and puzzles. She eats in the dining hall area with the residents, but then she could go back to her apartment, too. She has two aides to help her with her daily living functioning. I don't know too much about the food but she's not losing any weight. The dining area, though, is nice. The facility itself is beautiful. But I think it's important to keep lines of communication open. The staff is nice, and I don't have complaints about them. I'm not sure she participates in a lot of activities, but they have a calendar telling you what's going on.

My dad has been in Claiborne at Thibodaux and it's been excellent. It's all one floor and he has a porch where he puts and feeds his bird. He also has lawn furniture outside, which he likes, and they have a resident who plays piano music for them. This is a brand-new facility, so it's all new, modern, and very nice. They have a club room with a big fireplace and a full kitchen set where families can come in. Some places will have association meetings there too, because it's private by itself. It's very nice. They have Facebook where they show constantly what they're doing, and we even see what the memory care side is doing, and they have a coordinator that does all that. When we first went in, they had the price higher. It was $4,792 a month, but this past month they only charged $4,630. It's still pricey, but I guess it's because it's new. Right now, we're trying to get assistance for him, but everything is just topnotch there. It's just expensive and it's not their fault. It is what it is.

Claiborne at Thibodaux is upscale and more costly than the other place we saw. We toured their assisted living. They offer a lot of services. I only spoke to one man. He was very knowledgeable and polite. They do not let you go into the cafeteria and all. It's very upscale, swanky, country club-looking kind of place. They have a salon and a movie theater area. They have all of the amenities. Their rooms were kind of equal to the other place. They are okay and were nice. They were small and just a normal room, not as fancy as the outside.

Claiborne at Thibodaux is one of our top choices. The only thing I didn't care for was they have 177 residents, but the reviews I got from my friends that have their parents there are great. The staff was very informative and the atmosphere was wonderful. You won't feel like you're in a facility. It felt more like you were at a resort. In fact, they offered me a volunteering job there, which I would love, just to be involved in the community, and I could go eat lunch with them every day and see my husband if we move him in there. He and and I have been together for 45 years, and he's at a place right now where they don't even let me see him through the glass. A lot of activities are also planned at Clairborne. They have a dance night and they play bingo, but right now they're not doing that. They also have small gatherings, a library that I was impressed with because he loves to read, and every time he will do an activity he'll have somebody with him to dress him and help him get to where he needs to go so he won't get lost. They said the food was delicious too, and it's Cajun-style food. I know my husband would like it. The whole facility is so nice and very clean. Overall, it's been a great tour experience.

Very caring and compassionate workers on staff. They have been my dad’s immediate family since the pandemic has been going on. Could not asks for better service for my dad.
