My sister-in-law lives in Concordia Village of Tampa. It's a very nice facility. They have activities and we participated in some of them. They have a band every Tuesday night, and we go over there. They kept up the place very well. The grounds are in good condition. The high-rise building has support in place. There's a garden built around the apartment. It's pretty well laid out. They have a swimming pool and it's well-maintained. She has a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom in the apartment. She even has an extra porch.

I liked Concordia Village of Tampa, because the special that they have going on right now is very attractive. It has a low entrance fee and they have just about everything to do. They serve all your breakfast, they have a lot of activity, and the person that we worked with, Christine, was very helpful. They all seemed very friendly.

Everybody at Concordia Village of Tampa was nice. Everything was good. I felt that it would best fit our needs. The lady who gave us a tour was very nice. They have a dining area, a library, rec places, exercises, and all kinds of stuff. They did everything I asked.

My dad was a resident of Concordia Village. The best thing about this community is its location to area hospitals. It's three blocks away from a large hospital, so transporting my dad if he needs hospital care is right down the street. He's seconds away from an emergency room, should he need it. The word of caution I have for any family considering Concordia Village Tampa is the population level. They have a high number of patients and staff, which has a high amount of turnover. During these pandemic times, it has made visiting my dad nearly impossible. He can't have any visitors, and they have been quarantined multiple times. He contracted Covid 19 in the nursing care facility by a staff member, and he had been transported to another hospital, not down the street, but clear across town. I was not satisfied with their level of care and communication. It had been over a year since I was able to see him. Had they been a smaller community with the smaller staff, I think the COVID would be more contained or isolated and be a rare incident. My dad was in the rehab building, but he was a long-term care patient. He had access to the assisted living shower of residents. He was in the rehab building, but he was not a rehab patient. He was a long-term full care patient. They do have all the amenities, and it's a beautiful campus. It needs to be updated, and they did do an interior update, but the campus itself needs to be updated. When I went to pick up my dad's possessions, they had his wallet in the lockbox, but they didn't provide a key to me. They specifically told me he was sent to the hospital with the keys to his lockbox around his neck, which was not the case. They were actually in one of the bags they had put his laundry in with some other items. Has he not been able to speak, I would never have known where the keys to his lockbox were. That means they lied. They lied and said where they were just to get me out the door, and I don't appreciate that. If you don't know something, don't make it up. My dad has some dementia, so he doesn't always talk about reality. So I don't know what has transpired over the last few years there. I did try their food and it was fair. It was nothing to write home about, but it was not bad. The place is overpriced. The protocols were fine. It's just the volume of staff they have. The staff that is coming and going to and from work are the ones that have contracted it and given it to the patients. It's not the visitors, it's the staff. I would get updated weekly from them letting me know that so many staff members are under quarantine. The campus is outdated. The location is good, but the volume of staff and the volume of patients is so high that during the Covid pandemic, it's been too risky and detrimental to my dad's health, which is counterproductive. You would think that a nursing facility would be the safest place on Earth, but it's exactly the opposite. Just because there are so many staff members like a hospital, but they're not observing the same discipline and safety practices that a hospital does. They are much more casual, and it is similar to going to the mall. The employees there really are not health care focused; it's a job for them.

I toured Concordia Village of Tampa. Although I am a senior, I still have an active life and I was looking for independent living and their business model. When I visited them a few times, I enjoyed their business model. The staff and the director are very, very professional and their communication is great, as well as their knowledge. It is a campus and not a high-rise or a building that has no way up to go. It has a swimming pool, two cafeterias, and little stalls. You can bike or you can walk without the need to go out if you don't want to. So, it is very flexible for somebody like me that is still actively involved. I only met the people from the marketing and the director as well as all the volunteers that do work or volunteer their time and energy in the independent living quarters. One thing that I liked are the tenants that I met. They seemed to be so happy to be there and some have been there for 15 years and up, so it must be a good place. I did not go to the formal dining room, but I did go to the cafeteria, which is also served warm food and a lot of different little individual snacks and coffee all day long. It's very nice and very well organized. It is a very busy place offering all these different amenities. It's enjoyable. They have a lot of games like mahjong, and bridge. Once you're there, you keep yourself busy and you are not by yourself.

The residents at Concordia Village of Tampa were OK. They were happy. It used to be a Catholic place and now it's a Lutheran place. The lady was wonderful. The staff there was very, very sweet, and very nice. They gave us lots of information. One of the things that they have is that they're almost sharing the same ground with AdventHealth, which has become a big medical provider. It's a huge hospital and it's right there on their grounds. Also, they have a nursing home. There they can take care of you. Unless you're living there, you don't know exactly what's going on, but from what I could see, it was very good. One of the things that I liked about them was that they were updating the apartments because this is an older building. It was very nice. The staff members were very good. What they have is a high-rise building with apartments, then they have this other maybe one- or two-story buildings, which is where I toured. They also have apartments and both areas have independent and assisted living. It's very nice. Before you get in, they have somebody checking why you were there.
