My brother-in-law has now moved into Elysian Gardens in assisted living. His meals are provided and they make sure that he bathes. They have the doctors come in and help him, they give him his medication daily. He's in a shared room, that's the only thing I'm not crazy about, and I feel like the room should be separated a little better. There were just two twin beds in the same room, so he's basically just like in nursing homes with a stranger because he can't afford a private room. They are working on the place, there is quite a bit of maintenance on it. But generally, it's a nice little place for lower income people. The staff is wonderful. They're so helpful, anything we needed they made sure we were taken care of to the best that they could help. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and that my brother-in-law had what he needed. They have a nice dining area with home cooked meals, it's a very nice place, and the dining staff is wonderful. The meals always smell good, I haven't eaten them, but the people there say it's good. They have an activity director, but unfortunately she was out sick when I was there, so we were not able to connect with her just yet. The facility is very clean and they were doing some upgrades. They're working on some stuff with regards to activities. We came in during an interim change, but everything's nice so far. What he's getting there is very good for the value of the dollar.

We also specialize in Alzheimer’s and Dementia care for residents in our community. We ensure our staff is adequately trained for the special needs of our memory care residents.
The basic activities of daily living (ADL’s) are done in assisted living communities. Staff will assist with these ADL’s such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, ambulating, eating and assisting with a resident’s medication(s). Residents of assisted living need not be concerned with daily meal preparation, because a central kitchen and dining room typically provide three (3) meals a day and snacks. Central dining also allows for visiting with others without having to leave home. This greatly reduces the isolation that many elderly and disabled may encounter while living alone and who are afraid (usually for physical reasons) to leave their home.
