My Parents room is spacious clean and very comfortable. All of the staff that I have come in contact with are polite, caring and professional. The common areas of the facility are very inviting and nicely arranged, there are plenty of places to sit, relax and converse with others. The food is very good and family members can join their kin in the dining room at a very small extra charge. We are very pleased our parents are here.

The tour I had at Sunrise of Sunnyvale was really good, but they didn't have physical therapists there full-time, and they did not have a registered nurse 24/7. Their entertainment area was their courtyard and it was just concrete, no grass and it was kind of dark. The facility was located right next to El Camino Real so you could hear the cars passing, coming and going. The food looked very good, very appetizing, and it was also chef cooked.

I liked Sunrise of Sunnyvale. It was warm and welcoming, and all of the staff were very welcoming. I felt right at home there. The room certainly would serve our purposes just fine. I didn't sample any food though I was offered to do so, and it looked like a nice dining area. It was a great place.

The things I liked the most about Sunrise of Sunnyvale were that the staff there seemed very friendly and relatively upbeat. The facility itself looked like it could use some upgrading in terms of it just being a bit dated and a bit worn, but they were repainting while I was there. So, they seem to be focusing on that and actively doing upkeep on the facility. They have an outdoor area. It wasn't thrilling looking, but it was fine. There were certain things posted in the elevators of upcoming activities and all that, too. One thing I noticed about the rooms that I saw was that even the ones they showed me that were considered studios, had a long walk-in. So, for someone who had mobility issues, I supposed that could be a bit of an issue. It's certainly wide enough for a regular-sized wheelchair to go through, but for someone who's in a bariatric one, I'm not sure. It would potentially be a little more of a challenge. Another room was also considered as a studio-type situation that had almost a separate sitting area, which for someone who needs to have a caregiver or something like that would enable you to do that, which I thought was a good situation.

The people at Sunrise of Sunnyvale were very open, very nice, and very knowledgeable. The facility was also very nice. It's more expensive than most of the other places I've looked at, but it has some added value to it. You bring your own furniture or you can get the rooms furnished, but they were very nice. It was like a good-quality hotel room.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale was a very nice community. It's kinda an older place but not run-down, and it's more intimate because it's smaller. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The person who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable, but she's about to retire at the end of the year, so I would have to make another appointment with someone else there. She's been there a long time and she's very nice. They have an outdoor space, they have activities for them, they have locked facilities which is good, and they also have memory care.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale was very clean and very quiet. It was a nice facility. It was multi-level, so they had a facility upstairs as well as the ground level. The lady who gave the tour was great and very accommodating. When you're touring, you're separated, so you cannot see the residents. They wanted safety first.

My sister is currently staying at Sunrise of Sunnyvale. I like the way it's organized. The staff seems pretty good. The portions are too big, but the food tastes good. They have games like Bingo, that's about it, that I know for sure. They have no pool, and they have an outdoor courtyard garden. That's very nice. They allow pets - dogs, not cats. The room is spacious enough, she has a lot of furniture and it all fits.

We went to Sunrise of Sunnyvale. We saw the whole place. We saw everything. It was outstanding. It was really the person that was presenting. She was not a person of that area. She works there, but she goes to a number of other places; however, she was just so helpful and wonderful. She doesn't exclusively work there, and she said she was going to be in Utah today. She seemed to be a regional person. The community was wonderful. The dining area was very pleasing. The outdoor spaces were very pleasant and very well groomed. I liked the location and the diversity of the people. The staff seemed on task, and they had a lot of wonderful activities.

My father is in Sunrise of Sunnyvale. He's at that level where they can't handle him anymore. It's hard to tell because it's been shut down since the COVID-19 isolation. We can't really have one-on-one visitations or anything like that, so he's pretty much isolated. I've just been doing a lot of phone-tag conversations. He complains that the food is terrible and that nobody takes care of him, but I know that's not true because he has dementia. It's hard to really make a good evaluation at this point in time. I really can't see what's going on, but the few times that they did not have a lockdown, they had window visits. Their phone was very poor in that he could hear us talking to him on the cell phone, but we could not hear him. I told them they should get a new phone, and they said, "Yeah, we're working on it." Recently, somebody stole the catalytic converters off their transport van, so that required me to go out and hire another service to take him to doctors' appointments. Communication is very difficult, and it's hard to verify any kind of complaints, like how my dad says the food is horrible. I can't judge that without actually stepping in. We never had a taste test, and I don't know if he's participating in anything (I don't think he is). I know he's gotten out of control. We just had to sign a contract the other day for a babysitter, and it's getting pretty pricy. A few of the staff speak English very well, and they were not too bad with communication, but a lot of the other individuals have poor English, and they are very difficult to understand. Sometimes, they have people on the weekend in the lobby, and their English on the phone is poor. I'm not there every day, so it's hard to make an assessment on that. The outside looked clean, and there's nice landscaping. It's in a mixed-use area; across the street is commercial retail, there are condos and little mixed offices next door, and there is a little doctor's office and a couple townhomes. Down the street are some regular homes. It seems to have a lot of truck traffic from the shopping center across the street, and that bothers my father. He's not getting the services I think he should be getting. It's more on the medium-cost side. I've seen some others that are much more expensive.

The staff at Sunrise of Sunnyvale was great, we liked the security, the decor, and the amenities were fine. They had a personal/social director, and that was a good thing. It felt more like an institution, and it was not the right environment for her, but it was clean.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale was in good condition. The place was nice, but there was way more patients, so the ratio was much higher. The staff members were knowledgeable for sure, but for the price and for what I needed, it wasn't a match. It was a very nice place, but it was way too expensive. I would rate it a 5 for what they offer.

I talked to the staff at Sunrise of Sunnyvale. We did talk about dinner support. It was nice and interesting. You could stay and pay a minimal amount for a week's stay. It seemed to be more assisted living than independent living based on the residents. The amenities were all adequate; they have theater rooms and things like that. The place looked very nice. They just finished upgrading. Also they have a little dog mascot, which is the cutest thing.

We toured Sunrise of Sunnyvale. The visit was good. It was a nice facility, clean, modern, and the staff was pleasant. I would recommend it. If we hadn't put Mom at the other place, we probably would've put her in Sunnyvale. It's just a little bit far from our house. The rooms looked very nice. They had a studio and a 1-bedroom available. I only met one staff member there and she was very nice.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Sunrise of Sunnyvale is a good community. They keep everything well organized as far as food, cleaning, and caregivers goes. They have a very good staff. Overall, it's positive. They do special things for me that they don't do for the other residents there. They make special salads for me. I have a lot of pain issues, so I put ice on my legs and they do that for me. They're spending more time with me than what I'm paying for.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale's rooms and people were nice. They had an exercise class going on when we were there and somebody was playing the piano and singing hymns, which my mom enjoys. The dining area was upscale. Their cooking facilities were nice-looking, and the chefs were clean and friendly, so it was an inviting atmosphere.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale had a resident dog, and he just wandered the community. When we were going with the marketing person, I said to her, “We had dogs all our life, and I think this dog is looking for a place to do its business.” She said, “He is just sniffing doors because people give him treats.” When we were looking at apartments, the dog followed us in and his nose was to the floor again. And I said, “You know, I really think he is going to do his business.” And sure enough, we left there walking down the hallway, and he pooped in the hall. There was a nurse that came by and picked it up with a glove. As far as I know, there was no spray or anything done in the carpet. When we started looking at the carpets, there were stains all over the carpets through the whole complex. Again, they were even more expensive than the other community. They were over $5000 a month, and that was for a separate room with a shared bathroom. I won’t recommend it.

Sunrise of Synnyvale was good, but I felt like they didn’t accurately explain to me the costs. At first, I thought that the housing was going to be one price and then the care was another price. But then when they put it together, it came out to be a different price. When I added the housing and the caring prices, it didn’t come up to the price that they came up with. Maybe I didn't understand properly. The dining room and the rooms looked fine, and everything was clean. In the memory section, there were a lot of activities going on, like people watching TV and other people walking around or being pushed around in their wheelchairs, just doing things. They should make sure that they explain everything properly, but everything else was very nice.

I like my apartment at Sunrise of Sunnyvale. The staff is very good. They tend to overcook the food, but it’s good. I would highly recommend this facility. They should improve their menu so that they cater to the different dietary needs of the residents.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale was out of our price range. It was very nice but very expensive. The staff was very busy. There were plenty of people doing their own thing, so it was kind of hectic, actually. The rooms were nice. The staff was very nice, but it was a very busy time when I was there.

My mother has been in Sunrise of Sunnyvale for about one month now. I love the staff. They are very adaptable. When I signed her up and paid, they did say that she needs more care than I am aware of, which surprised me because that increased the price. When they were working with me to have her long-term set up, I did get a notice about the rent increase and that really surprised me since she had just been there for a month. However, when I called them, they reversed the increase, so that was really nice. They did not reverse the amount of cost for the care, but I requested a breakdown of the care, and the guy said that he will email it to me. The staff is really nice, and it's very clean. My mom is as happy as she can be. She is 96. The dementia is starting to set in so she has a lot of anxiety and stuff, but she keeps saying that this is nice and clean, and people are friendly.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale was more concerned about having my father tested before they even allowed him to come over and take a look at the place. They were concerned about making sure we had enough money for him to stay there for 10 years. The rooms, dining area, and common areas were spacious and very clean; they were very well lit, bright, and cheerful.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale looked clean and they were friendly, and the rooms were nice, but it was complicated with my dad for many reasons. In fact, I know somebody's who is there -- my sister's neighbor and she is quite happy. It seems like a pretty acceptable place. The staff was very nice. It seemed like they went out of their way to be helpful and to answer questions. There was a nice living area with a fireplace, and then outside they had a nice patio with a fountain. I thought it was nice.

What I like about Sunrise of Sunnyvale is that in addition to a memory care unit, they also have like a higher level of assisted living so that a person didn't necessarily have to go to the memory care in order to get the higher level of attention. Their basic room is about the same size as the other facility I visited. It has a bedroom area and a bathroom. They also have an option for a one-bedroom unit which is fairly large. It has a seating area, a little kitchen with a refrigerator, and a bedroom. The dining room looks good. The facility is very new. The only drawback I would say is that the secure outdoor patio area could be larger. It is an OK size, but it wasn't that large and a bit smaller than the other facility I visited.

I did notice that more of the people were convalescent or chair bound at Sunrise of Sunnyvale. They looked more like hotel rooms or hospital rooms. They were not really inviting as far as like an apartment. The staff were helpful. The dining room was little, but it was clean. I did notice that a few people were taken out for walks. It was convenient; it is right downtown, but I found it not secure enough as I was able to walk in and walk around before somebody said, 'May I help you,' and that bothered me a little bit.

My wife is in Sunrise of Sunnyvale. They are close, and they are offering all the services that we ask for. They have activities, but my wife is not capable of taking advantage of those. The food is acceptable. It is nice and clean. The room is adequate. It looks like a nice place to live, and it isn't over crowded. They have adequate people, and they seem interested in doing their job well.

Sunrise Sunnyvale is modern, and it's well kept up. It's my favorite one that I went to. The staff was very caring. One thing that impressed me was, during our tour with my brother, there was a resident who had some kind of an issue, and the person who was giving us a tour excused herself from us to take care of the resident. To me that was very telling about how caring they are of their residents. I thought that was a very positive thing because they want to take care of the residents and not worry so much about their potential clients. They had movie nights, card games, but they didn't have a Bridge group, which is what my mom would want. They also had an arts and crafts room. I like the staff the best. The rooms were all pretty much carpeted. They were nice. I like them.

My brother is now in Sunrise of Sunnyvale. This facility has three stages of assisted living but they also have memory care. There is a floor that is exclusive for total memory care. However, my brother is not in that facility, he is in their assisted living facility with memory care. He is only 58 years old and has early onset of Alzheimer's. Overall, I like this facility. It is very clean and very nice. My brother is in a shared room and we have no problem with that setting. The staff is very attentive and I like them. Everyone seems to be happy there. Nevertheless, my brother is not happy with this facility because there is no one there who is as young as he is. We were told that there would be a 60-year-old man and a 58-year-old man moving in but they haven't moved in yet. There is also no activity for somebody his age, so we are disappointed with that.

I am really fond of this facility. My great aunt lost the use of her legs and was confined to a wheelchair several years ago. Living completely alone was not an option for her anymore. Our family immediately started looking for a good care facility to move her into. We were thrilled to find Sunnyvale of Sunrise. Admittedly, we weren't expecting much before we arrived that first day (since most assisted living facilities can be gloomy and depressing), but the minute we walked in we were happy to be greeted by a clean bright atmosphere. We've been pretty satisfied with this facility ever since. There has always been a manager on duty whenever there have been any issues that needed addressed. They have a great cook who prepares really healthy meals (3 a day, of course) and the residents even get served restaurant style. The dining room is awesome, I'd eat there myself every day if I could. The main common areas are decorated beautifully and most of the rooms there (including the resident's units) are spacious and sunlit. The facility is so comforting it makes me want to visit any chance I get. There is plenty to do here so perfect for active seniors too. This is truly "living" and a great place to move a dear loved one to in my opinion.
