Grandview Terrace was an older community, but it was very nice. It's been around for probably 20 years, but very well kept up. The staff seemed very attentive and very nice. They had rooms where you could play cards and a craft room. This facility wasn't a month-by-month type thing. It was where you buy-in with several hundred thousand dollars.

I toured Grandview Terrace recently. It's a Sun Health community. It's non-profit. It has for active, assisted, and memory care. It had all those features, which was good. What turned me off was that it's one giant big building. It has a ballroom, an auditorium, and a restaurant, but you don't leave that building. It's all one building. The parking is outside with a little awning to keep direct sunlight off your car. So, if it's 115 outside, so is your car. So that was a little turnoff. It's a big apartment building. I didn't try any meal, but I toured the kitchen, I toured the dining room, and I saw what they had. There's nothing more than glorified home cooking. It's very generic. The single biggest highlight is the lady that conducted the tour.

I live in Grandview Terrace Sun City West, AZ. The facility is excellent, it's immaculate, and they're constantly working on upgrading it. If you need anything, they're there very quickly, you just put in a work order and somebody comes in and helps you right away. I have a 2-bedroom 2-bath that's 1560 square feet. The staff members are wonderful people. We have cards, mahjong, and exercise classes, and we do day trips. We just got back from a 2-week cruise to Hawaii that was supported by 18 of us. We paid for it, but they took us on that trip. We go to the theater, we go to symphonies, we have entertainment come in, and there's always something to do. Even during the COVID lock-up, there were always people to help you. The food is wonderful. They give us a weekly menu with eight selections in the main dining room, and there's a special every day. Everything is within one building, so it makes everything easy. It costs a lot of money but it's worth it.

Grand view Terrace was beautiful and well kept, but I did not want to be there because I can't sit in a hotel room all day without a patio. We were on the fourth or fifth floor, and I said, "Oh my gosh, elevators!" (I don't like elevators.) They had memory care that you can go to if you have Alzheimer's. They check you every night with sensors to make sure that you're moving around. If you don't move around, they check on you. We met the marketing girl, and she was wonderful; she was great. We had a meeting with them earlier, and they gave us a boxed lunch. It was great. If you live there, there are two or three restaurants. For breakfast you can go to one place, for lunch another place, and for dinner another place. It was very nice and very clean.

Grandview Terrace is very nice. It seems like they thought of everything somebody might need living in a community like that, and everything is right there on site. The facility was beautiful, and the staff was very helpful. Everything was clean, spacious, and I thought that was very nice. The food was amazing. We went to a brunch, they had a ton of different choices, and everything was delicious. Theres a board where people can choose their clubs and activities that happen on-site, they take people to plays, shows, and a variety of different things in the city. They have a swimming pool, fitness center, salon, massage, arts and crafts, and a small movie theater.

My parents live here and I have to say it is an absolutely lovely facility. Staff is very responsive, there are onsite EMTs 24/7 and they have great programming - there is almost always some form of entertainment either on site or with provided transport. My parent's unit is lovely and they have made many friends here. My only complaint is the food. They went to a new food service company a bit over a year ago and the quality and service has rapidly gone downhill. Food arrives lukewarm and has to be sent back. Orders are consistently wrong - sides don't arrive or the wrong sides arrive. Vegetarian choices lack protein. The other day mom’s order didn’t even arrive while in the dining room as they had forgotten to place it. Once in a while these types of issues could be overlooked, but there seems to be an issue with EVERY meal and I am beginning to worry about food safety issues given the lack of attentiveness overall. My parents are reluctant to eat in the dining room while we were hoping having a dining option on site would make things easier for them. The facility does not seem to be responding to resident complaints as many people are unhappy and have complained but nothing seems to be improving.
