I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The apartments at The Legacy are incredibly spacious! I have not been able to find any other apartments like them at any Assisted Living communities in the Staunton area. My family has had good interactions with the staff. Stanford and Kate were VERY helpful with moving mom on tight timeline. And the front desk folks have been nothing but kind and welcoming. Mom loves sitting outside on the beautiful patio out back.

I visited this facility

I visited The Legacy of North Augusta. Two things stand out in my mind. One is that in the common area (and this was about mid-afternoon), there were about six residents. There was a TV on, but four of the six were sound asleep in reclining chairs. There was no activity going on. They were not interacting with each other. They were not interacting with staff. I was not impressed with that. Another thing is that during that time, the only staff member I saw was the one that was taking me on a tour. They have several floor plans, and they call them apartments. Some were as many as two bedrooms. It went down to one bedroom, then there was like a studio and then there was just one room that would hold one person and you could put a single bed in there and not a whole lot else. So they had a variety of options, and I think that's a good thing. It is the most expensive of the places that I saw. 1600 dollars more a month than the other place and that's a lot of money. And another thing that I wasn't so positive about was that the common area also served as the dining room so that the TV and the recliners and whatever activities they do and their meals are all in the same room. The staff that gave me the tour was wonderful. The floor was not recently mopped, but in terms of all the other public areas and the hallways and all that, that was very clean.

The Legacy at North Augusta was wonderful. I saw a one-bedroom apartment. The common areas were very nice. They had a library, an activities room, a beauty shop, and a beautiful dining room. I had a sample meal, and it was very lovely. We were there on a tour and to visit with a friend's father. I didn't see an exercise room, and I don't know about their planned activities. I only interacted with a couple of people there, and they were very nice. The one thing about this place is that it is multiple floors, and I don't know all the things they offer like laundry; however, I understand that you can have pets there, too.

They control your meds another $1200 a Month. A fee for bringing a meal to you if your enable to walk down to dinner! Above all they charged my Mom the highest Daily living rate while she was in the hospital!! Not even there! ! Very Sad this place is All About Money!!!!!

My father was in The Legacy before he passed. The staff is awesome, and they made me want to go to home health care. It meant so much to my parents with their kindness. The first day in the dining room, they know your name and what you are drinking. If you don't come out to dinner, they call you. The rooms are nice and clean. It is light and airy as well. They have some activities like going to Wal-Mart. They cater you; if you have a doctor's appointment and you need a ride, they have a chauffeur that takes you. If you need help with a prescription, they'll take you there as well. I really like it; I just wish it wasn't too far.

I visited this facility

The Legacy at North Augusta is a brand new community. It has been here about a year or so, and it is owned by the Lutheran Church of America. I thought they were supreme. Had it not been for the fact that they did not have any vacancies in a studio, or the smallest place available, I would have opted to select that particular one out of the three that I did visit. The staff is exceptionally outgoing. They were a tremendous help to me because I have had zero experience with assisted living. They even made calls to their competitors to try to find me an accommodation that would meet with my time requirement. Regarding their rooms and dining room, they are a step above the rest, simply because they're brand new. The Legacy just seems to be a more comfortable place. They have everything that anyone could possibly want there. They did have several sitting areas that I found to be very nice.

I do have friends that live at The Legacy. They did have lots of activities for them there. I have eaten there and food was excellent. Also their accommodations were great. The staff was on top of everything. They would go out of their way to know where everybody is. If my friend fell asleep or misses lunch, they'll make sure that she's okay. It's a good solid 4-star for this place; however, they didn't have memory care there.
