I visited this facility

I loved Rowntree Gardens. It was a campus with gardens that had lots of beautiful flowers and trees. You could take a walk or just sit out and enjoy. It had squirrels and birds, too. The people were very friendly and outgoing. The tour guide, Donald, was excellent. I got tired of walking because it was so extensive, but he got me a wheelchair and that was very thoughtful of him. The community itself was older, but it had a charm about it. Each unit had a sunroom, which I think was so important for the light to come in when you're in a complex like that. That was my favorite out of all the places that I saw. Everything that I saw was very clean and comfortable.

Rowntree Gardens was a very large place, but to me, the rooms were kind of like a hospital room. You could just stand in your doorway and see your window. No hallways, the closets were small, and the kitchen was very small. To other people, this place may fit perfectly for them. It's just not meeting my particular needs. The facility was very bright and clean. People were courteous as they showed me all around. They had a lot of things to do. They had movies, crafts, a chapel, and different things. We saw the cafeteria and the library that had a lot of books. It was nice. The lady that gave the tour was nice, too, and we had a good talk. Everyone was respectful. They didn't have a lot of parking though, but overall, it was a good tour.

I looked at Rowntree Gardens. We did not try the food, but everybody looked like they were thoroughly enjoying it. The size and layout of the apartments were very generous. There were multiple activities. It's a very community-based resident facility. They do a lot of family activities and a lot of group activities. There's a chapel there. They've got memory care, they have a rehab facility, and there's a gym and a barber shop. It was very nice. The building itself was clean and well-maintained. They have a very large outdoor area with a garden that you can work in. They have shuffleboard there, too. They had a lot of things going on. I enjoyed it.

I have toured the Rowntree Gardens, it was great. It's a five-star place that's very clean, has friendly staff, and there were a lot of amenities available. It costs a little more than I felt I could afford. The guy that gave us the tour was very friendly and very helpful, and he knew what he was talking about. They showed us the library, there's a little courtyard area, a putting green, and there are walkways. Overall, it's very clean, the air is fresh-smelling, and there's no odor or even alcohol or chemical cleaners.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents are at Rowntree Gardens. They're very good. The staff is very nice and kind. They have pretty gardens and nice lunch area and there are several of them. There's one in their little building and there's a really big dining area. Their big courtyard is all gardens. They have some outside shuffleboard. They have little outside activities and music. They have a very nice suite that I got to stay in and it was 75 dollars, but that's not too bad. That was a plus. I think they like the food personally, but I didn't get to eat there. Value for money is pretty good.

I like Rowntree Gardens because it had all aspects of treatment for my mom. They have doctors on site. They have doctors that will come to the place. She could get her PCP to be affiliated with the place, so they can come to see her there. They have a clinic there, where she can see the doctor as an outpatient in the clinic that's on the premises. They have a rehab facility and a skilled nursing facility on the same grounds. The people in the memory care are integrated at times for meals and for special events with the other people that live there. So it's like a total community. The staff are all wonderful. They're pleasant. They're all smiling, friendly, and a lot of them have worked here for 20 years. That was another thing, when you can retain a lot of staff for 20 years. They're doing something right. The facility is clean. They're organized, and they've been there for 65 years. It just looks like they know what they're doing. The other factor for me was that it's a faith-based community, even though they don't adhere necessarily to any religion. They have a chapel there, and that was a big thing for me. I was very pleased with the experience. They have good food. I ate one meal there and it was great. The staff are wonderful. They answer all your questions. If they don't know the answer, they'll find somebody who does; then the person gets back to you. So I'm very pleased.

I loved Rowntree Gardens; that was our first choice. The tour was wonderful, the gal was very helpful and there was no rush. She showed us different rooms, walked us to the facilities; it's a nice place. She showed us the different levels and they have more care, where others don't have any care. The rooms were nice, spacious, and clean. The dining was very nice, very pleasant. They have dining in each separate building if the patient couldn't get down to the main dining room. They were able to order their meal off of a menu, which was very impressive, instead of everybody being served the same meal. They had a long list of amenities. They had shuffleboard there and maybe incoming music. They had a calendar of activities. The staff that I met there and the housekeepers were so friendly and loved their job. The place was very clean, and they had a non-denominational church right there at the location.

I like Rowntree Gardens. It is very good. I like the concept. They have shared rooms, which are nice. Also the sliding door to the garden is nice. The dining area is very accessible to the patients. I like that, too. I like the lady who gave me the tour. Each room is accessible to the garden, they just have a walking area. It's very relaxing for the clients. They have a gazebo garden there. Families can visit in that area, too. The building is one level, so that's nice. I didn't see any staff because of the COVID.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We have selected Rowntree Gardens. They have beautiful outdoors and a really caring caretakers and staff. The staff is very efficient, very nice, know your names, very polite, and very caring. The rooms are really nice, large, have a sunroom, and a great view of the garden. The food is good, plentiful, and a lot of variety in the menu. They have a lot of activities, so there's something going on all the time. They have a lot of entertainment, computer classes, art classes, writing classes, and sports things like shuffleboard. They have a hospital here, a Gardens memory care, and a church. They have everything covered here.

Rowntree Gardens staff was very friendly. It's an older place and it's been around for a while, but it was nice. There were a lot of people there. It was very clean and well maintained. They also had skilled nursing in the same location, which was a plus. They had a wide range of activities and apartments and the space was just right. The facility was well kept up. Parking was fine, and they close the gate at night and you had to call to get in.

Rowntree Gardens was a lovely place, but everybody seemed to be much older than I am. They weren't older in age, but they were using walkers, and I'm still running around. They have lovely apartments, a nice green area, and a garden where you can go and sit and meditate. The dining room was lovely and the food was very good. Everybody seems so happy living there. You know that they're getting good care. The dining area was like being in a restaurant.

Rowntree Gardens was nice, but a little outdated and older. The people were nice. There was a $9,600 entrance fee, and that was a showstopper right there. The parking was very limited. They had a 1-bedroom where the bed was located to the side, and there's a folding door that you can use to close the room off. It was well-appointed and nice.

We picked Rowntree Gardens for my mom because it's a very lovely place. It's clean, smells nice, and has lovely colors. The rooms are very nice. They have activities for the seniors. The residents arefriendly and talk to us, and the people who work there are nice and helpful. The marketing person that we've been dealing with isn't always as knowledgeable as we think she should be, but we were able to get the answers to our questions. It's very nice and the food is wonderful, and so far we're happy.

Rowntree was very nice and beautiful, but I want something that offers more activities. The food was delicious, and the dining area was beautiful. It sits in the center with a fireplace, and you could look outside at the garden. They had a barbecue outside when it was warm and were putting up Christmas decorations, so it was very nice. The people were very nice. They had some ladies playing the piano when a lot of people were eating lunch.

My mom was at Rowntree Gardens. They were very friendly and very helpful. It was my mom’s first time to go into assisted living, so they were very mindful of that. They made her feel comfortable as much as possible. I had no problems with them at all. They can watch TV, they have speakers to talk to them about different things, they will take them out on field trips to go eat and things like that, and they went to see concerts in the local area. They kept her as busy as possible.

Rowntree Gardens meets the needs that we are looking for my dad. The staff understands what entails to care for a memory care resident. My dad is in a shared room. It is adequate, and it meets his needs. He likes the food. They have activities like music and arts & crafts. Their communication skills stand out.

Rowntree was nice. They had very good grounds, and they also had a picnic area which was impressive to me. They had two restaurants, and they had fireplaces. The restaurant area was cozy and homey. The staff also contributed to the homey type of environment. They had activities, and they had some nice little common areas which were also impressive.

Rowntree Gardens was very nice. The person that took us around was very nice. That was the one that my mom wanted to go to, but then she thought about it because they had apartments. It was across the campus, and she would have to be in her little apartment basically by herself, but she was afraid to be by herself at night. Then she would have to travel across the campus to go to the dining room, and she was afraid to do that. Otherwise, that would have been our pick because it was in Orange County, and that was where my dad was. The campus was very nice, and they do things with their residents there.

We haven't actually started having mom go there, but it is very reasonably priced, and it did have a lot of different services to offer. They have everything from independent living to skilled nursing, they have a clinic on site, and there are just a lot of nice options and activities and things. It was transitioned recently; it was Quaker Gardens before, and now it's Rowntree Gardens. They were making a lot of remodeling and are just finishing up the remodeling that they were doing, but I would say it is very attractive and has a lot of open space. They do have a bus that goes around to different places like the grocery store and drug store, and they have some outings, but then they have activities on the campus too. I know they have a big Fourth of July celebration and others, but I can't remember exactly. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. I was primarily looking for memory care and -- as I have seen in other places -- the people in the memory care were just further down the road than my mother was and mostly were not able to do anything. The main thing that stood out was this place has a lot of people that are up and having conversations, so there are a lot more different levels. I hope it will work.

I went to Rowntree, and it was very pretty. From what I understand, it is probably best for somebody who can start out in independent living then they can get the long-term care, but my parents are farther along. The staff seemed OK; I was just there for a brief time. It looked safe and secure. I liked the beauty of it; the gardens were very beautiful.

The place was lovely. It was an independent, assisted living and then a memory care center that had different buildings. Their grounds and all that were really nice, but unfortunately, that was not the memory care. The memory care was nice, but it was a little bit institutional. However, the workers were very caring. It was a faith-based run facility, which I liked. They don't press the faith, but it was clearly present in the facility and embraced by the people who worked there. It was very clean and well-organized. The woman walked me through. Many people knew her whether you were in the assisted living side or in the locked memory care. She knew many of the people in there, and for me that spoke values because this was an administrator, and yet she would stop and be caring to the people that lived there. She was very hands-on which was lovely to see. However, it was a little bit far from my home. I would like it to be a little bit closer. It would also be nice if there few more rooms made a little bit homier in the common areas.
