I love The Fairfax. It's 5 minutes from my house in a different direction. They are very well-appointed. They have the try-it-out program (that's what they call it), and that's where my parents will be staying during the holidays. I love the layout. It's a huge compound. They have apartments. They have mixed living in one compound. It's 62 acres. There's a pond onsite. They have all kinds of different activities. It's very vibrant. The seniors there are rocking and rolling. It's an amazing place. I would move in there. However, they're an older community. They're starting to go through their renovation process. They have a pool on-site, and they have a salon, but it's a little bit older. Their food is good. Their staff are amazing. Their layout is outstanding. Everything is connected. You don't have to go outside if you don't want to. If there's inclement weather, they have enclosed ramped-up access to every single portion of the property. They have bungalows with carports and everything. It's amazing.

We had an in-person tour of The Fairfax. It's an excellent facility. When the time does come, this is definitely my preferred place. The rooms were OK. It's very clean, and it seems like they're kept up to date. Before you move in, you have options for changing things out if you want to. They have a shared storage locker, but it's very small. The kitchen comes with a fridge, a stove, and a microwave. It's a very large property. So if you're on the outskirts, or if you have mobility issues, you would probably have a difficult time getting back to the main building. They have everything you could possibly get. They even have little townhomes on the property. The staff was very warm, friendly, and knowledgeable.

I toured The Fairfax. I would describe it as satisfactory, but the facilities were not the best. The amenities and the fitness center were not up to the standards I found elsewhere. The rooms were satisfactory. They were relatively good, but I don't believe they were as large as the ones elsewhere. They had some amenities, but not to the extent that other places had.

The Fairfax was kind of medium size. It was not a huge facility, but not a small one either. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. There was lots of greenery and all of the apartments were nice. The people were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were very open about the costs and the things that would be there. They also invited us to stay for lunch and the food was very tasty. They had a pool, a beautiful chapel, a very nice dining facility, a happy hour bar area, an exercise room, a library, and community areas where people can sit and be together or do puzzles. They have a putting green outside for people who like to play golf or when their visitors come. There were lots of walking paths through the gardens.

The Fairfax was very nice and seemed peaceful. The grounds and the dining room were very nice. I was not impressed with their pool area and we did not get a chance to see their crafts area. Otherwise, it seemed very nice. They had a card room and a couple of dining rooms. It was nice to see the walkway connecting all the buildings, so you don't have to go outside. We didn't see any staff other than the marketing lady, and she was very nice and informative. I didn't think that the parking was very convenient to the main building. I guess it's OK for most of the residents, but for some of them, the parking is a bit far away. I was disappointed in the pool and locker room area, and we didn't see the rest of the amenities. We like its location especially since we've been doing many of our activities and our shopping at Fort Belvoir.

I am staying in The Fairfax. They have a library, a pool, and a therapy area. They really have everything. We've got everything here. We have an auditorium, we have movies, a lovely dining room, and a smaller cafe. We have a washer and dryer inside the apartment. I have an oven, and everything in the kitchen, so it's sort of fully equipped. The staff is very good. We have a cleaner come in and do the bare necessities once a week. The engineers, and the housekeeping people are all very polite, and very nice, so I really can't say anything bad about it. We have lots of choices for the food. We can have the choice of the dining room, which is a little more formal, or the cafe where we can go and do a cafeteria line. We have very good food, and if you don't like one thing, there's about three or four other things to choose from. When we had to have everybody in our own apartments, they brought us food every day. We chose what we wanted, and they packaged it up and brought it to us every day. For the activities, they are starting everything up again. We have a closed-circuit TV in our apartments, so we've been able to have yoga on it, and a physical fitness exercise shown on it. We have our religious programs on Sunday, and other special activities are shown on it until everybody is allowed to be back in the big group.
