I visited this facility

Sunny Hills ALF of Sebring was pretty rundown. It was not as clean and not as modern. The room was more like a studio. It was small. I didn't spend any time there really. It wasn't impressive from the get-go. It seemed to be understaffed. They had the basic stuff. They had a craft room, a reading room, and an exercise room. The dining facility was OK.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is living at Sunny Hills ALF of Sebring. They have excellent activities. They offer church services several days a week, which for my mom is very important. They have crafts, and they have people come in and do different activities with them. The staff is very friendly. My mom's very happy with the food, and she's picky. The rooms are very nice. Mom wants people around her all the time, and at Sunny Hills, a lot of their residents are out and about. Even if they were wheelchair bound, they were out in the social area and out on the porch. They seem to be a very outgoing community.

I visited this facility

Sunny Hills ALF of Sebring has a friendly atmosphere. They've got a calendar with all sorts of activities, like flower arranging, movies, church services, and different games every couple of times a week. There's always something going on that would keep us busy, and they've always got these excursions to different stores around the community. The staff is caring. Anytime I ever had a question during the tour, they were always there to answer questions. They were always happy and smiling. Their two-bedroom apartment is a one big room with a divider in the middle. There's a bedroom on one side and a living room area on the other side. If you're single, they've got rooms for single people, too.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister has been in Sunny Hills. We have a good working relationship with them, and she seems happy there. They have gotten at least all of the at risk patients vaccinated, so we're happy with it. I would give them a high rating because of their one-to-one response to my questions and concerns, their proactive approach to the challenges that they have, and the fact that my sister has been happy there and they meet her needs. There seems to be several activities designed to accommodate several different kinds of patients. My sister's Social Security and Medicaid benefit are adequate to take care of the requirements.

We chose Sunny Hills for my mother-in-law because it's close to where I live. It's not bad. They're in the process of doing some renovations. They're going to redo the lobby area. The rooms are very adequate and the staff is overall good. She says the food is usually pretty good. They have activities and she participates in some of them.

I had the miss fortune of visiting this facility is see a friend and I could not believe the state of this place there was black mold and the smell of mold is so unbearable it was shocking to me that this people aren't sick.there were cockroaches running around this place is such a mess staff members were rude like the people that lived there were a burden i will have to say there was a very nice lady that worked there but haven't seen her in few months. So now looking for a different place for my friend to stay for a little while no one should have to live like that.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Yesterday, I put my mom in Sunny Hills. One of the things I liked best about it is that their management people talked to Mom. They talked to us, but they talked directly to her, which I really liked. As opposed to telling me things, they told her things with me there, and they've been very attentive. I don't have anything to complain about. She has one of the smaller rooms, but they helped us get things hung on the wall and hook the TV up, so they've been very cooperative.

My wife was at Sunny Hills because it was closer to where I lived. I was impressed with the staff because they were helpful. They cooperated with my questions about their practice, policies and cost. Some on the rooms were spacious while some were just the right size. Some on the activities were bingo, table games, cards, movies, darts. There was also a pool table and music in the evening. The food was also excellent. The whole place was satisfactory.

My friend settled at Sunny Hills. The facility was well-kept. There was a patio where she watched the surroundings. The staff gave adequate care to her. The people seemed like a big family. There was bingo and other activities. Someone also came and played music. I saw the menu and it looked good. She said the food was delicious.

I visited this facility

I love sunny hills. Its clean and definitely stylish. The lobby area is brightly lit. There are chairs fir residents to lounge around. The dining hall has assigned seating and is set up like a restaurant. There are servers who deliver trays to residents. Lunch is the heavier meal of the day. This particular day they served soup, chicken with veggies and mashed potatoes, bowl of salad, and peach cobbler with dollop of whip cream. Lol, I don't many people who could eat all that. The best part is the guy who goes from table to table with the beverage Cart. He has everyones order down. He had apple juice, cranberry juice, coffee, milk, water, and orange juice. A big difference than the simple five item meal with a mini cup of juice that is usually served at other nursing facilities. One lady who worked there knew exactly where and who every resident was. I told her that's amazing, she claimed it was because she worked here so long. Still to take the initiative to know everyone and be able to direct staff or family where a resident is, is very professional. The halls all have themes. One theme is like old Hollywood, so the pics on the wall are black and white and of older actors and actresses. The front hall has nature paintings and different objects of decor on the rooms. You will also find several fullength windows in the halls. Its great because it let's in a lot of light and gives resident something to look at even if it is the Parking lot. The facility is located in a residential community, which is good for traffic purposes. There is a nurse station and she passes the meds. O yeah I found the vertical chalkboard to be so cute for the menu outside the dining hall. Reminds me of those restaurants on the beach with their menus advertised on the streets for all to see. I enjoy visiting this facility. The rooms are ridculously huge. Bathrooms are shared if there is a roommate. Shower is inside room. Fridge and TV and recliners are also used. Mind you some rooms may vary, but this was my experience. Closets are designed like regular home closets. There large metal accordion doors. Dressers are inside the closet with light shelving available. The facility does have an alzheimers unit which is like a lock down area. The door has to be buzzed open. At night the doors are locked from outside and inside. This deters residents from entering other rooms at night. There is a nurse station in the area and the staff does make rounds. Residents are always accounted for. The precautions are to prevent wandering/escaping. With other residents they carry a key for there rooms with them.
