I visited this facility

My tour experience of Ingersoll Place Assisted Living was positive. Everything seemed to be well organized. The person who gave the tour was very informative. She wanted to make sure that all my questions were answered, which she did very nicely. The rooms were good size. Everything looked nice and clean, so that was positive as well. The dining area was very nice. The outdoor spaces were very nicely kept, and looked like a nice place to sit and enjoy the natural environment.

Provider Response

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is currently in Ingersoll Place Assisted Living, and we're not happy with them there. She's in memory care. They're not good. They have some aides that seem like they care, but a lot of them are just there for the paycheck. The environment is very dark and smells. We've told them our concerns. They have made some improvements, but not enough. Some of the staff are excellent. Some of the staff are awful. They have activities. They have a little workout area, a library, and an outdoor space for them.

Provider Response

We thank you for placing trust in our team for continued care and support of your mother and her care needs. We appreciate knowing your concerns and encourage you to connect with us about your mother, her experience and care needs.

I visited this facility

I did a tour of Ingersoll Place Assisted Living. The head of marketing, she knew all the residents by name. As she was giving me a tour, she said hi to everyone and they all knew her. It looks like a fancy hotel. It's very, very nice. The dining room looks like a restaurant, it's absolutely gorgeous. I looked at a few studio apartments, and they were very nice. The staff all seemed very nice. When I got there, they were having an exercise class. They were about to go on a trip to visit a farm with horses. The staff talked about another trip where they took the residents fishing. So, they have a very wide range of activities, pretty much all day; different activities. The studio apartments all had a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and a sink, which I liked. The residents, if they didn't have any issues, were allowed to have a microwave. Another reason why I liked them is because it's three minutes from my house, so it's literally down the street. For us, it would be very convenient.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Ingersoll Place Assisted Living is very clean, well staffed, and the maintenance crew is phenomenal. They have done all kinds of magical things to make my mom's room feel homey. They have been very involved with her too, and I assume they are very involved with others as well. It is a very attractive setting, and the facility is very well cared for. My mother said she likes the food, and she has been very praiseworthy of it. She noticed on Easter weekend that apparently the chef and his crew had the weekend off, because there was a big difference in the quality of food. Otherwise, she is pleased with the menu seven days a week. They play bingo, cards, and there is a bus that can take them shopping. There seemed to be a number of activities. It is just my mom is 95 and she's physically not going to do a lot of shopping. There are activities for anyone that wants to avail them. They were very warm, welcoming, very caring, and very considerate. It was nice to see a staff that actually enjoyed working with the seniors, and not just there for the paycheck. The atmosphere is very different. I would figure that the leadership there is the one responsible for the kinds of people they hire, and the kinds of people they continue to maintain as employees. In fact, I was talking to her on the phone when they brought in a rootbeer float for her. You never know what is going to be coming through; it could be a strawberry shortcake or something else.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My husband is in Ingersoll Place. It is a smaller facility compared to where he was but the care is very good. The reason I chose this facility is because of the size of the building. It is just very pleasant.

The phone number is correct but the facility is actually located over on 3359 Consaul Rd in Schenectady, NY 12304. It is a great facility that really has a welcoming feeling once you walk in the door. The staff is also very compassionate about their residents which makes me feel comfortable knowing that my mom is in the right hands.
