The Fountains of Hope Assisted Living and Memory Care

My mother spent a year in The Fountains of Hope. It was poorly managed, inefficient, with poor staff training, poor responsiveness in regards to follow up, and there was no individual diet plan for people. They were pleasant people, but very ineffective. The director was hardly ever there, they didn't answer calls, and they didn't typically correspond to your email very well. There were staff members who were good, they exercised both the ethics and practice of compassionate care, but most of the rest of them were just doing their job, with the misunderstanding that the resident were living in their workplace, which is backwards; they are working in the residents' home. I supplemented the food for my mother the entire time. They have a very nice facility which they don't take very good care of. It's not clean. You can sit down in the dining room and run your finger along the rail of any chair and get three months' dust. It's only four years old, and it has probably some of the best-looking apartments of any place that I've seen. They're large and very conveniently prepared. They had a wonderful person by the name of Elaine for a time, and she was a terrific, wonderful, compassionate, and caring person. While she was there the activities were very good, and she got people to play volleyball, golf, and bingo. They also had afternoon tea with wine, fashion shows, and entertainment. She did a wonderful job. But, they suspended activities because of the pandemic, and it can get pretty dreary there.

My aunt has only been in Fountains of Hope for about a month but so far everything seems fine. The staff seems to be on top of everything and it's a better place than where she came from. It's a relatively new building, or at least it looks that way, and they keep it clean. She said that the staff is really good. The food is fine and they're better compared to what other places are charging. They take the residents out shopping if they need to go, and they have activities inside throughout the week.

Fountains of Hope was wonderful. The apartments were quite large and roomy, and the kitchen was furnished with a whole refrigerator. They have a beautiful gym for workouts. It's just a lovely place and when you walk into the lobby, and they had harp music playing which was very calming and lovely. It's a faith-based facility and they offer Bible studies. The food was excellent and you can choose one meal and time of day for your meal if you don't want three meals, which is a good feature. It was just in a very nice and beautiful setting. There's forestry and nice greenery at any window you look out of. The facility is newer and is probably the newest in town.

Our second choice was Fountains of Hope. It was excellent. It was very clean and very nice. You can tell there were lot of workers doing what they should be doing. You see the huge dining room and there is a large number of staff there, so everybody seemed to be getting help. They were about to have a Veterans Day celebration. There was a big auditorium-esque room for movies and parties. They showed me a studio and a 1-bedroom.

The Fountains was fairly new and built about a year ago. The rooms were fine but smaller. It was decent, and not fancily decorated.

The Fountains of Hope was very good. The only thing was the distance, which was a little too far for us to go, so we ruled out this one out. They showed us the 1-bedroom and the 2-bedroom. It was very clean and very nice. The people were very caring and very welcoming. They had a theater, a room for church, a craft room, and an activity room. Their dining area was very nice, very bright, and really clean.
