This was a wonderful place. Shotwell street, the location is relatively quiet, but also only a block from the nearest bus stop, which which afforded transportation to BART (the underground rail). This was important as my friend loved going to Museums and Libraies. Herplace was small, and a bit cluttered as she had moved there from her family home. A bit cluttered. On my first visit, the staff were really friendly. Coming up and introducing themselves, and they seemed to have a good report. I was also impressed that they DID question my being there, having never seen me before. Made me feel that she was in a safe place.Etta is a vibrant independent women, and I was concerned about how she would get on with being "assisted". Maybe losing a bit of her freedom, but on the contrary, I think she actually enjoys the physical support (laundry, housework) having medical folks at such close proximity, and having a 'family' of sorts. (her 2 kids being grown, and her hubby being deceased. Withher Church less then 2 blocks away, and grocery, pharmacy and small shops within walking distance, she is in a great place. Not fancy, but meets her needs, and I feel she is lucky to have found it.
