I visited this facility

I went to look at Lyndale San Angelo. They had menus, and you ordered what you wanted to eat. If you wanted something later at night, they had a list of what you could order, and it would be brought to you. It was wonderful food. You have a key to your room. It's very, very nice. The staff members were wonderful. You didn't sit for two minutes until they had you up, cleaned up, and ready to go again. They have bingo and church services.

I visited this facility

We went to see Lyndale San Angelo and it was great. That was the first place that we'd seen, and the place was perfect. It was just a lovely community. All the residents that we saw were smiling and they looked happy, which is always a good thing. The place seemed to be immaculate. They had 2 nice courtyards. The food looked delicious and very appetizing. It seemed like they checked all the boxes that we were looking for. I couldn't find any cons, all I saw was good things. The person we talked to, Melissa, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. It was a great experience. The rooms were full-sized, and they were updated. The ones we saw looked really clean and very nice.

Facility appeared very nice but there are long walks between some rooms and dining area. Hallways all lead to the main areas but parent may struggle to find their way around. Relatively nice courtyard but most residents seemed to congregate outside the front door. They do have a bus service to shopping once a week. Laundry available for residents but you have to get it from your room to the laundry room. You can pay for someone to do for you. Our tour seemed a bit rushed to get all questions in. Take paper and make notes. I also suggest you take time to read and understand what your parents are signing because they become financially responsible the minute ink dries. Be sure they are ready!

Lyndale San Angelo was a lovely facility with lovely amenities. Everything was taken care of, it was very clean and very friendly. The woman who was in charge that was giving me the tour was fantastic. She couldn't be any nicer, any lovelier, or any more informative, and she checked on me several times. I saw both their independent living and assisted living, and the staff made me aware of what qualifies someone to live in each.

We moved my father-in-law in Nov. 2021. The place has been awesome! He has been there for 7 months. He even sees a therapy dog once a week. He loves the weekly happy hour. My husband & I would not mind living there full time, ourselves. Staff is great, even with VERY difficult residents, like my father-in law. Lyndale is nothing like a traditional "nursing home", and grand staircase & saltwater fish tank BEAUTIFUL...I can't recommend enough.

I went to Lyndale San Angelo. I did get a Christmas card from them and I thought that was very nice. The apartment was a one-bedroom and it was more like a nursing home. You had your car and you had to park your car out. It had a big long hall that you had to walk down to go to the dining room. They had a lot of bingo and activity things going on. I wasn't ready for that just yet. The one girl that I talked to was very accommodating and very pleasant. It was a beautiful place. They had the main floor and upstairs with an elevator. It was just like a regular dining area in a nursing home. The room was very well kept, but empty. It had a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen. They had a beauty salon, a lot of activities that they do, and a shuttle service that would take you to go shopping or whatever you want to do. It was very well kept up.

Lyndale San Angelo is a beautiful community, but there were two distinct problems with them. One was that it was more a retirement center than assisted living, and my mother needs help. While we were there there were very many friendly residents that came and talked to us. Unfortunately, my mother just doesn't quite fit in with that mentality because she doesn't have the ability to carry a current event kind of conversation. We toured the one wing they had for assisted living. She would have been in their prototype room that was set up for respite. The room was lovely, but it would have been hard for my mom to find her room. There's no way she could remember all the turns. We had a tour that was set up for lunch, and the girl manning the front desk was our tour guide. She was covering for someone who had obviously gone to lunch. So we waited for about 30 minutes for her to finish this other job she was doing. However, when she took us on the tour she did not offer us lunch. When we went on this tour, the staff didn't come up and say hi to us, they were just whispering. It was just awkward with the staff. The building itself is beautiful, and they have these huge gorgeous staircases when you walk in, like from a plantation.

Lyndale San Angelo was a very nice place, and everyone was very friendly. The room that they showed me at that time would have worked, but my mother now needs 24-hour care. One thing I didn't like was that it's big. The room they had available was on the second floor, and mom has mobility issues.

I enjoyed my visit to Lyndale San Angelo. It's a very nice facility, they answered the questions that I had, they took a lot of time with me, and I really enjoyed it. The room they showed was spacious, clean, and I enjoyed the details, like the technology. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable.

I racked my brain trying to think of something I don’t like about this place – I can’t!! The personnel, the food, the security and safety feeling; the other residents, all make this my home away from home.

Royal Estates staff stuck by and assisted my aunt through extraordinarily difficult times that resulted in her needing to divorce her husband. They assisted and protected her as much as legally possible. Their caring staff made a rough time much more manageable.

My aunt moved to Royal Estates of San Angelo. She likes the meals and everything. The staff is extremely friendly. The place is really up-to-date. All the amenities are wonderful, and there is always something going on. They have four or five activities everyday, and that is what we are looking for. They do day trips, evening trips, even to musicals and events like that. They take them shopping. They have card, mahjong, bridge and puzzles. On every floor, they have a singing group that meets a couple of times a week, and they also have bingo. They will take her to doctor's appointments. I am very impressed with the place and the staff. I am very pleased with everything.

I visited this facility

I visited Royal Estates of San Angelo, and I would try to go down there this week, take my dad to have lunch there, and try to see how to break it to him. My first impression was that I was relieved because it didn't feel like an old folks' home because it was pretty clean, homey, and smelled great. I hadn't eaten there yet; I just had a look, and the menu was impressive. I would try to eat there this week. However, I saw people eating, and it looked really great. I talked to a couple of residents, and they loved it. The apartments were very simple and a bit small. That was the only concern I had. They had activities. I looked at the calendar, and I thought that was pretty impressive.

Mom stayed at Royal Estate. It was a very nice and clean facility, but it was more geared for independent living than it was for assisted living. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. They actually had a classically trained chef and there were always two options for the meal. The location was very good. They had a hotel there right next to it. They even had guest room that family could stay up to three days and you could purchase a meal there for just $7 a meal, which was very good. It was a very reasonable price and you could actually eat with your loved one.

I thought Royal Estates was okay, but my mother-in-law didn't care for it. It wasn't what she was looking for. She wanted more of a home setting, not so much of a hotel type setting. However, the staff seemed fine and the rooms seemed okay. They have different sizes of rooms. Everybody who was there seemed okay with it; however, it just wasn't what my mother-in-law wanted.

We chose Royal Estates of San Angelo for my mother-in-law because it had the assisted area that we needed. It is clean, and we just like the amenities that they offer. They have a lot of activities going on. They play bingo. They have coke float Tuesdays and entertainment on Wednesday. They also have outings for the seniors, either shopping, going to restaurants, or visiting different places. They also have arts and crafts. I was able to help with a project with the director of activities, and we made a friendship quilt with some of the ladies. The ladies got to meet each other. Overall, we felt good about it.

Everything’s fine here at Royal Estates, as far as I know. It’s a clean place. The activities I have tried are bingo and some 42. The food could be seasoned a little bit better; it’s pretty bland. No more fish, and add chicken fried steak to the menu. You couldn’t put very many people in the dining room; it’s pretty full, but there is enough room for everybody. I like my room, but I don’t like where they have their emergency string. Anytime you want somebody to come to see about something, like if I’m in my recliner and I want something, I have to get out of my recliner and get in a wheelchair and then go to my bed. It’s against the wall; it's not located where you can get to it easily. I do not have any complaints about any of the staff. They’re friendly, and they always have time to talk. I would recommend this place. In fact, I just did. My daughter-in-law's daddy is moving in this week.

I visited this facility

When we visited Royal Estates of San Angelo assisted living facility, it seemed like a very friendly and casual community. The staff was professional and very caring to the residents. The grounds were spacious and well tended, with plenty of areas for seniors to enjoy privately or with others. The indoor areas were all clean and bright. There was plenty of sunlight so that they do not need to use lighting when it is sunny outside. This was true for many of the dwelling spaces, as well. The residents enjoy a casual restaurant dining experience that includes original creations, as well as traditional dishes. They provide a good variety of meal, food and snack options. There are a number of private living options available, from spacious studios to 2 bedroom apartments, which my brother's friend was interested in. There is plenty of staff to take care of basic needs and cleaning, so even if you have a larger space, it should work fine. Each space was clean, nicely designed and had nice air and light. The bathrooms featured walk-in showers with safety rails. All of the communal areas were pleasant to be in and we could see that the residents thought so, too. The activities they plan regularly include everything from visiting local restaurant favorites, the public library and movies - to day trips around the region for nature walks and to visit festivals and fairs. They also have a convenient salon, barber shop, wellness center and well-stocked library. Daily exercise is encouraged and classes are offered, but also offer residents to work out on equipment. The staff is well-versed at taking care of a variety of types of people, from those who are not ambulatory - to people who have memory issues. We enjoyed our visit at this facility and would recommend that those interested make a visit for their loved ones.
