My brother chose Wentworth Central Avenue. They have a relatively high population of younger gentlemen, like 70 and up. They have a full activity program that my brother will probably use. It's very nice. It looks brand new, but I know it's many years old because it used to be a nursing home in the 1970s. Of course, they changed all of it. The price was in the middle. It wasn't low and it wasn't high, so that's a consideration. We ate lunch there, and it was good. They have a podiatrist that comes every nine weeks. They have an in-house doctor, but my brother has elected to continue with his own doctors. And then if that changes, there would be somebody here to take over. The staff members are very friendly. I don't have a list of which extension is for each staff member, so when I got the wrong number, the people were very nice, and they said, 'Wait, let me transfer you over.' Also, animals can come to visit. If my brother wanted to have an animal, he could, but there would be an extra charge.

Wentworth Central Avenue was full at the time of my visit, but the person there gave me an overview. It was a memory care and I was impressed about how he said that they focus on the cognitive part of the resident. They had a little area that a resident was already sitting in, and he was showing us how they have different activities with them. I was impressed with that place and their price was a little bit lower. Just at the time, they didn't have a space, and they didn't take the time to call me when they had a space, but it was already too late because my dad was already in a place.

I moved my Mother to Wentworth a couple weeks ago. All the staff I have interacted with is caring and supportive. They knew my Mother’s name the first day and made her feel very welcome. The facility is neat, clean and furnishings in common area are up to date. There is a good choice of activities offered. If you are looking for an assisted living facility, be sure to take a look at Wentworth.

I didn't like Wentworth Central Avenue. Their outside area was very poor. For elderly care, it just seemed very depressing. The room was nice. The staff seemed nice. They had a common area. They didn't have much of an outside area.

My parents are moving into Wentworth Central Avenue. Everybody there was nice. From the person who helped us when we first got there, Michael, to the staff, everybody was so nice. The place was clean. They offered them a two-bedroom and both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. I like that it's private and they don't ask for a lot of information. Meals are included. They do three meals a day. But if you find you're still hungry, or you maybe just want fruit, or whatever, you could always ask for that. That's not a problem. They keep coffee and tea, and they have a fountain for juices. When you come downstairs on the first floor where the meals are, if you walk past, you see the coffee and there's water, or whatever, you can just take it. You could just drink it. They make sure that you stay hydrated, but they make sure that those liquids are always ready for you. One is a regular, I think, lemonade, but the other one is cucumber water. They have something every Friday. They have movies every Tuesday. They have a van that'll come and get them to take them shopping when they need to. I met a lady, who'll come and get mom to take her to do arts and crafts, and they just have a place where they just sit and talk and it's nice. They have a calendar for the activities that they give them to hang up. Every day there's something to do. Like every day on the calendar, it's like five or six different things going on every day. They do an assessment every three months.

Staff turnover is great here and while there are some great workers like Patti in bookkeeping, Barb in activities and Beth and Jasmine in nursing there are many in the admin side that are not so good. Phone calls are not returned, problems are not addressed and corrected and most of the admin stay in their offices without client interaction. The new activities director does nothing. On Sunday there are zero activities for us here. This place is about money making and not care.
