I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I had a family member who was in transitional care at The Estates of Roseville. I could have not been happier with the care she received. The home is very focused on person centered care. Residents are treated with respect and dignity. I can’t say enough about the amazing staff. The staff are friendly, kind, caring, hard-working, patient and thoughtful. They went above and beyond to care for my family member. All my questions and concerns were addressed. The home has a comfortable environment. It is clean, secure and well maintained. They provide housekeeping, laundry service, onsite kitchen for meals, planned activities, rehabilitative services, physicians and onsite social workers. Our family would not hesitate to recommend The Estates of Roseville to others.

Rooms: Extremely dusty, the wallpaper is falling down and then just taped up, see dust bunnies in the ceiling vents, have to clean the portable fan once a week due to the dust build-up. I once observed a visiting family member cleaning off the lunch table before his dad ate because it was so dirty. Staff: The most unfriendly facility that I have ever been in. The staff rarely introduce themselves and 1/4 of them never wear name tags. They seem surprised when you tell them hi. They rarely interact with the residents in a caring way...just doing their tasks. The lounge/activity/eating room for the residents is tiny and the wheelchairs are stuffed in there. The live music is good but it does not happen very often. There is one activity person for 32 residents so zero one on one during activities.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister is a resident of The Estates at Roseville. She's in memory care. It is very close to our family, so the location is wonderful. It's in a beautiful spot in Roseville. It's next to a lake and it's very close to Central Park where you can take your resident out or take a walk. It's close to shopping if your resident likes to get out for that. So, the proximity and the location to family and the things that she likes to do is perfect. I hesitate to give anything negative because I know that we've all just gone through a pandemic and I feel it's a little unfair for me to evaluate somebody based on a national crisis and how it changed the flow, but I would like to see it updated. I think they had started a redecorating project that just got put on halt during the pandemic. They couldn't let anybody in there. So, I'm hopeful that that will continue and kind of get everything kind of cleaned up and get new carpets and whatnot. I like it to look pretty, but I know it's in process. I'm hopeful that it will be updated soon. Their nursing staff is very friendly. They truly care about our residents. They have gotten to know my sister personally. They know what makes her happy and what's difficult for her. They help walk her through those tough days very eloquently and with kindness. However, with the pandemic, I know they've been challenged with staffing and you can feel that. When we first started in 2019, the staffing was different. You could move around the building more, you could get down to PT, and you had opportunities to go to more activities, but that just all shut down. Again, that's not their fault. It's just part of the pandemic that we've experienced. There are some activities, but my sister doesn't qualify to get out of memory care and they don't have the staff to bring her. They don't have that opportunity because their activities are outside or something. It's sometimes challenging to make sure that she has the proper supervision when she leaves the locked memory area. The place was a little bit cleaner when we first showed up because they had housekeepers, and their laundry service was a little bit higher quality because they had actual workers there. Like everything else, I can feel the strain on their system. The people that are left are just working super hard and they're doing the best job, but I feel like it needs to be cleaned up. If you flip back to the positive, that always outweighs the negative. They're just a beautiful group of people that truly care about residents, and they've got a lot of education in how to manage people with memory care issues. I can see them using different strategies very wisely. My sister's in an area that needs to be redone and it had started the process before the pandemic. The rooms are spacious, but they are double rooms. They have a beautiful view. Most rooms have a view from what I can tell of nature or a courtyard, the lakes, or just even kind of watching where the cars kind of drive by. It's kind of a peaceful little street. I think those areas are really beautiful. It's kind of tucked away in a little wooded area. The main dining area seems to be updated and fresh. I think the one in memory care is going to be that way soon, but it's not quite there yet. I think it's a good place for people to be, but it does need a little elbow grease. It needs a little help but I think it's coming up. We're anxious for everything to go back since the pandemic. She loves the food. Every single time I asked her, she said it's delicious, and so she's very, very happy with what they serve her.

My mom was here for transitional care after surgery. It’s an older building but it’s clean and does not smell. The staff are very good, especially Angie, Kathleen and Mary. I was worried after reading some negative reviews, but it has turned out to be a good place for my mom to get the care she needed. I would have no issues with her going back here.

This is an absolute horrible place, the staff is absolutely horrible. They do not care about any of the resident's that live there. They will all reassure you that they are there to take care of your family members, but when we visited they were dirty, the room was filthy and my family members food was sitting there and they had not been helped to eat. We complained to management and nothing was done. They are all there to collect their paycheck and to go home.

Old, depressing facility needs major updates! Worse is the care! My mother went there for stroke weakness. Told me first day soneone mean to her....sounded scared. Next day her granddaughter checked on her.....crying, sitting on toilet ....no oxygen! She was oxygen dependent. Grandchild called nurse (who told her nursing aide left her without oxygen over 15 minutes!) demanded ambulance. Died later U of M. Started MN nursing home complaint....another confusing process. Medicaid (altho she wasn't on) acceptance no excuse for sub level care/environment! Only place had opening. Also, call and emergency lites NEVER work.....hmmmmm.

Turn around and run as fast as you can. Not only will the smell of urine in this facility overwhelm you, but the care of our mother was given was not only neglectful but Absent. Due to the lack of changing her bottom side, she developed a bladder infection which progressed into a blood infection. Long story short now they want to charge to hold the room while she’s in the hospital recovering from their neglect. Follow your gut on this one, Hopefully won’t make the mistake and trusting them as we did!

I am/was a resident of this facility

Recently I was a short stay resident around Thanksgiving, and I am writing this with a spirit of genuine thanks to the exceptional staff at Golden Living Lake Ridge. The facility is just wonderful. Things are organized. Care is precise. Results outstanding. Staff is highly trained, friendly and welcoming. Specifically, therapy (physical) was "just right" -- the exercises helped me greatly. In the dining room, overall the food is good -- you have your choice of two entrees each meal every day. Variety was plentiful. My bed was comfortable, and I felt safe there. The facility was extremely clean, and smelled that way. I highly recommend Golden Living Lake Ridge! Thank you all!!!

My sister is at Golden Living Comm Lake Ridge, and it's quite good. The staff is very capable and able to handle quite severe dementia. They have skills to cope with it, and we're quite happy. They have some music activities. The services of the staff is very good. My sister's room is a double room that's not large but is quite nice.

My wife has been in the facility for one day and has been treated poorly. I am sure everyone is busy but I was speaking to my wife on the telephone when one nurse walked into the room and while my wife was asking the nurse for help she walked out of the room without answering her needs. She also noted the at time it takes the staff 10 to 20 minutes to respond to her needs. She said some of the staff has treated her nicely but overall it has been a poor experience.

My mother was a patient here for a few weeks before she passed away. The compassionate care by the staff was exemplary. We have wonderful memories during that very difficult time. My daughter stayed over one night towards the end and I was there the night before she passed. We are still talking about the caring nurses during those nights. She was agitated and they knew just what to say to my mom to calm her. It was so wonderful to hear that. And by the way, the nurses thought we were sleeping! I can't forget to mention the day nurses who also knew just what to say to her to comfort her. Two unforgettable aides....it was a very difficult day and this male aide came into the family room and hugged all of us. Now how awesome was that! Then there was this one aide who towards the end was feeling so emotional as my mom was nearing the end that she had tears in her eyes. Now that meant a lot knowing she was sharing our pain. Thank you to all your wonderful staff Lake Ridge. You're the best!

My Mother-In-Law is currently at this nursing home. This is day 3. We are looking into transferring her ASAP. The staff is very unfriendly. The nurses are not informative. If is very clear that the nurses are not caring or compassionate. We have had two Aides who were above average. The staff member working in the cafeteria is down right rude and very un-compassionate. When my Mother-In-Law did not want her dinner - they did not give her a meal. When I spoke to the staff member - her reply was "Well - I can't make her eat:. I said you are correct - but rather than make them sit in the cafeteria with no meal for up to an hour (until they were ready to take them back to their room) they could put the tray of food in front of them and maybe they would pick at it. A little encouragement maybe? I could go on about other details that I was uncomfortable with - but I just want to focus on finding a better place. I left last night after dinner and literally cried. I am serious when I say that I treat my dog better than what I have witnessed here.

My mother spent the last few weeks of her life at this facility. I would NOT recommend it. The doctor was virtually invisible. He did not handle my mother's pain. We tried to move my mother to another nursing home. They told that home that my mother was a bad patient and the relatives were hard to work with. Now if that were so would they not want her to leave? The medical records were not accurate. A nurse told me one day that they were giving her tramadol (non narcotic). When I asked later fo another dose they said the doctor had not ordered that drug and he could not be reached on weekends. On several occasions I found my mother alone in her wheelchair with no call bell anywhere near her. These are only a few of the many problems we found at this facility.

I visited this facility

I think that this Nursing Home seems to be alright. My feeling is that they try to do their best with what they have to work with. My Aunt says that she is happy, but then she doesn't need as much attention as some of the other residents. Sometimes she tells me things about the people that she rooms with, and how the staff treat them. My Aunt says that the staff treat her pretty good, and try to maintain some comforts of home, like how they have a garden out back. Some of the residents enjoy gardening, and go out when the weather is warm. There is also a gazebo for those who just want to get outside, and watch the birds. They have transportation to go wherever they need to, like shopping or to the casino. All in all, I am proud to have my family at Golden Living, and would definitely recommend it to others. My Aunt is very content, and enjoys living there, so I am happy . The one drawback is that visiting hours could be more flexible. Sometimes it is hard to go out there because I work at those same times. But I leave my job a little early, just to see her.

One of my parents was in Golden Living for a short time and we moved them as soon as possible because of the unprofessional and uncaring staff. Nursing staff was more interested in the lastest gossip than attending to the patients. My parent absolutely hated it from day one and never felt welcome there. I do not recommend this nursing home.

I would not recommend this nursing home to anyone! My mom was a patient there for a short time and in that time we found the staff and upper management very difficult to work with. They were not welcoming or helpful to my mom when she was admitted. When we were researching nursing homes, we thought we asked all the right questions however, we certainly were lied to when we took the tour. We were told my mom would have a private room which my dad was willing to pay for and that the nursing home had many patients with my mom's disease so they would know how to take care of her. It was a good sales pitch but completely deceptive. Do not put your loved one here.

When our mother stayed at Golden Living-Lakeridge in Roseville, we had ample opportunities to view how staff interacts with residents. We came to visit at all times of the days/nights. Basically we found the staff to be very unfriendly and uncaring. The nurses during the evening shift were observed many times visiting with each other at the nursing station, not paying any attention to residents. I personally observed residents calling for help and they were totally ignored by staff. The rooms were not very clean, the closets smelled musty and floors very dirty. I would definitely not recommend this nursing home to place your loved ones.

My loved one stayed here

My mother stayed here 3 times this year after each one of her surgeries. The staff were really nice and helpful, especially one that stood out from the rest, her name was Lori Taylor and helped my mother really feel like she was at home. I highly recomend all of their services.
