I liked the staff at California Mission Inn. I liked the setup and the rooms. I just liked the whole thing. Everything was nice. There's plenty of parking for visitors. Everybody gets their own suite. It was nice. They have different room layouts to pick from and it all depends on what you're looking for. I found one that I liked. It was like a suite. It had the bedroom and the living room all together in one room. It had a counter with a wet bar, so you could wash your own dishes there and rinse something out. It had a full-size refrigerator and a microwave. It had a bathroom separate from all that. They have arts and crafts, music, a church on the premises, Sunday services, a choir, a cafeteria, and room service, everything else that all the other ones had.

My husband will be moving into California Mission Inn. We chose it because of the proximity and the kindness of the people I encountered when I got there. It was bright, clean, and inviting. There are lots of amenities that I don't think my husband will be taking advantage of because of his situation, but they certainly were offered. The staff during the tour was incredibly helpful and friendly, gave me all kinds of tips, and was very much willing to make things fit for my husband.

My husband is in California Mission Inn assisted living, and he has hospice coming in to help him twice a week. I don't really like them, but I don't have any choice. This place was the most reasonable in price because I cannot afford to pay higher rent for my husband. My husband cannot drink anything from a cup, so I brought a sipper with a straw; they broke the lid, so I couldn't close it. I didn't like that. It cost me because I had to place the order. Why is it so hard to open and close the lid? It's not rocket science. The staff is not really responsive at all. I called the staff, and I wanted to talk to the staff. I didn't get a response from the staff at all. The facility seems clean. His room seems dirty. The cupboards are dirty, and even the bathroom doesn't have any toilet paper at all. This past Saturday, I went there and checked. The bathroom does not have the toilet paper. It doesn't have soap. I put the soap in there when he moved in so many times, but they were gone. My husband didn't use it because he's bed-bound. The location is convenient to my house. As far as I can see, the facility is OK. It might not be for my husband, but it seems OK for the rest of the people there. I was never introduced to any activity. When I asked for my husband's activity they didn't tell me.

I toured California Mission Inn, but I didn't get to see any of the interior, and everything was kind of dark and dreary. They showed us one apartment, and it just was not what I was looking for. The salesperson, who was very educated, couldn't be there, so he had someone else do the tour. They have a lot of walking areas and grass, and it seemed laid out very well. I wasn't terribly impressed with how things were kept up. There was no pool, and I was told that there were craft rooms, but I didn't get to see those.

My parents will be moving into California Mission Inn - Rose Manor. I toured it both virtually and in person. My priority is to give them a spacious, one-bedroom setup. Keeping them together for as long as possible was important. I also wanted to have a substantial amount of outdoor green space to be able to take advantage of having better weather year-round in Southern California as opposed to New Jersey where they're currently residing. The staff that I spoke with was very accommodating, very friendly and open, and patient with my questions. They were willing to take the time to explain the questions I had, and they responded well to my questions and concerns. There were studio set ups and one-bedroom setups. Unfortunately, during COVID, it was not possible to view activities in session. There's a chapel inside as well.

California Mission Inn - Rose Manor is basically assisted living and they're pretty good. They have a lot of common areas and rooms for family visits. My parents' room will be be good enough and it has a bathroom in it. The food is OK. They have tai-chi and dancing. The staff seems friendly. It's well kept.

We just moved my mom to California Mission Inn, but we're moving her out because the facility is really dirty and disorganized. I wouldn't suggest it to anybody. The rooms aren't updated, but the services are OK. They have a couple of activities, like Bocci ball, but there's not a lot to do. She didn't really enjoy the activities they had to offer. Mom likes the food. The dining area is pretty OK.

California Mission was large and had two big dining areas. The food was just great. However, I wasn't too impressed with the person that helped me there. They didn't present a good, solid cost for me to take to my family and try to get my sisters to move my mom and dad.

California Mission Inn is what I've chosen for my mother. The staff was very good and very helpful. It was one of the cleanest, well-organized, beautiful, friendliest and everything else you can think of. I’ve been there before because I went there to find a place for my aunt, and she loved that place, but she could not afford it. There are all kinds of different activities and things, but my mother won’t participate because she is quite old and doesn’t do too much stuff, so she would just observe things. The place was nice.

My friend was a resident at California Mission Inn. The general appearance is very good. From what I understand, the services they offer are fine. The only thing is -- and it's my understanding -- that they went under new management. With the fees that they charge in one day, I got 4 different quotes for the same room and same care. It was kind of silly and was hundreds of dollars in difference. The fees have gone up a lot significantly since I've been there. The staff seemed friendly and helpful, but not knowledgeable about the fee structure. They have a very full calendar of activities. They even bring in entertainment regularly into the facility. They have people singing, they have mariachis, they take the residents out for shopping, and they do have outings. So in terms of activities, they are probably pretty good about that. I think I like the appearance and cleanliness of the facility overall.

California Mission Inn is really a great facility. It’s very clean and I liked it. They loved it. The staff is really helpful, friendly and attentive. The rooms are pretty clean. They have great activities. I believe they do them in the morning, after lunch, and before dinner.

My father is in assisted living over at California Mission Inn. They do a very good job of taking care of him, making sure that he's well-fed and dressed, and other things that he needs. They have field trips, several trips going to the market and other places. They have games that they play during the day, and they give them a list of activities for the month. It’s on five acres of land. The maintenance is very good. It’s a very beautiful location. The building, I believe, was built in the '20s. For the priests or monks in that area, when they retire, they go there. So most of the setting hasn’t changed much. They keep it up very well. It has been refurbished, and some of the old furniture is still there. It’s very old-style type of building. My father is very happy there.

My mother is at California Mission Inn and the staff is absolutely fabulous. I can't say enough good things about it. It was such the right decision. They are very flexible. Elder care isn't black and white and they try to accommodate needs that were outside of the box and fall between the line. They were always available. Whoever it is you need to talk to there, they are always available right up to the administrator. Everyone is very kind to her. She loves the girl that helps her. She says it's a very nice place. She especially likes that there's a cat in the building.
