I wouldn't recommend Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount to anybody. They just didn't seem to care for my husband like I think he needed to be cared for. He fell and they sent him to the hospital and then they called the hospital and said they weren't gonna take him back. It kind of put us in a mess. My husband was in the memory care unit and it's different from assisted living. They had a dining room and a little garden but it wasn't much of a garden. It was just a fenced-in area where they could go outside. The facility was very plain. It wasn't clean, and it smelled bad because it had carpet throughout the whole place and I think that held the smell. He didn't partake in activities because his mind is so messed up with dementia. They had some people come in to sing with them and they played some games with them.

My friend is moving into Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount tomorrow. Everybody just seems so nice and friendly, and I told him he could get all the coffee he wanted, and he loves his coffee. They told him he would go into the dining room and they would have two menus. They told him what they had and if he didn't like what they had, they would make him a sandwich, or something different, and so he was pleased with that. The staff couldn't be any nicer, they were helpful, and they were very, very helpful in explaining things to us. So we were excited about it. We saw three different rooms and he's going to get a room by himself. He'll have his own private bath, two closets, the internet is included with it, and the cable. And so that was another reason that we liked it. I know two different people from the church that were there, so that helped me make up my mind too. They had bingo, church services, and they take the people out when they're able to go. The cost of it was less than some of the places I went to. It's kept up.

My father is at Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount. He's playing bingo there, and he's sitting out on the front porch. He's much happier at this place than where he was at. The admissions director, Rosie, got him a discounted rate on a room, and she had an assessment done over the phone with one of the nurses and the therapists. These people have been on the ball. There has been absolutely nothing that has happened that they have not called me and told me about. They have all of my records; they asked for all my records. It's a much nicer place than where he was at. He likes the people. They're friendlier there. They have activities for him to do. He's part of the little walking club, and they walk in the mornings around the facility. There are different things that he's starting to get involved in. He's coming out of his shell a little bit and doing a lot better. He said the majority of the staff goes home on the weekends, so the weekends are kind of long and boring because there's not much to do. He said their food is phenomenal. He said they went to outside places and got them food. The room that they originally quoted me was going to be $3,500 a month, and they got $1,000 knocked off of it. The admissions director called me every single day until we could get him in there. I felt like that was going above and beyond what anybody else had done. Now my father is calling every day telling me he went and played bingo and exercised on the bicycle; he's doing things, and he's starting to meet people. He's settling in very well, and I think he's gonna be happy there.

I was able to visit Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount, and the place is very nice. I would love to be able to financially afford to go there. It was very attractive and very comfortable. The people were nice. They gave me brochures with information with regards to their policies and so forth. I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a nice and quiet community.

Spring Arbor did an excellent job when they care for my grandmother. They really helped our family when she was dying. They offered support, constant care to her, and always gave us updates on her condition. My grandmother was comfortable the entire time she was there. Before she was extremely sick, she was able to do activities and functions with other patients they had a social calendar that she could chose the things she wanted to participate in, as well also we were always welcomed to visit with her. My grandmother did enjoy staying there and it was not the typical "scared to go to a rest home" feeling like most would have. She did not feel abounded by her family and the employees at Spring Arbor helped with that transition for her. It was really comforting to know that we were able to take my grandmother to a place that she was able to get the care that she needed around the clock. Everyone in my experience treated our family like family.

This is a up scale facilities. The staff is professional and kind. At my visit a staff member told me in order to be employed here you have to meets the federal and state guidelines for any of their positions such as criminal background check, naturalization check, communicable disease screening, specific training and certifications. They have drug screenings as well. She also told me her Staff is a family and they're family is here to serve ours. The residents there is as sweet as could be. A resident told me that she believes the staff knows her more than she knows herself. She also stated that she consider herself lucky be live in a facility like the one she is living in now.
