We toured The Grove Assisted & Independent Living. They do not do laundry, which is what my wife needs as she cannot do laundry. That's the only thing that I noticed we did not like. It was assisted living that we looked at and the rooms were smaller than what we wanted. They're studios and it's like being confined to a small space as they had very little place to go. When we were there, we only saw, I think, two people. The person who took us around and one helper so I didn't see much of the staff.

I went here yesterday. It's big, just from the outside, it's huge, and when you go inside, it looks like a business-like if you're walking through a corporate building, but it's not. I spoke with a man named George and he's awesome. He spoke to me honestly and realistic than what I've seen and from past places, I've gone to. Everything was clean, I liked it. It seems that other residents and how they're doing things just by the looks of it, everything was nice.

It has skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living. I had been in the skilled nursing part following several surgeries and so I'm aware of this community. It is right downtown, which is close to where I work. The apartment that I'm looking at is very nice. It is a 1-bedroom apartment, all services are provided except for assistance. The person who gave me the tour was very good. When I was in skilled nursing, food was fine. They are varied and you have alternatives. They also have outings and themed days. I am aware of the activities because when I would go down to rehab, I would see the activity sheet. They also have a van that would take the residents out shopping.

It was great. The room was like a nice, one-bedroom small apartment. It was perfect for my father, but he was going through some medical issues and was in and out of the VA, so really going there wouldn't be helpful to him right now. They had lots of games, though. They had a nice, big game room, and everybody looked happy. My father really wanted to get in; we even gave him a deposit, but then the next day, he went to the hospital and has been there for three weeks. He got back out but he went back in. They were very nice because they gave us the deposit back, so we have nothing but good things to say about them. The dining area was very nice, big, and clean. It was a very nice community in a nice downtown with lots of stores and places to see and museums nearby. It's definitely a great place.

My mom moved here on the 3rd of February. It's very good. She does bingo and they walk outside. They also go to Walmart and have bible study. They serve three meals and do laundry and meds. The staff is pretty thorough and very friendly.

It is fine and in a nice area. The surroundings are nice. The rooms are beautiful, too. They have games and social movies, a bus that goes to stores or shopping, and a PT room. They make your meals, clean your room, and vacuum. I tried their food, and it was excellent.

It was very nice, very clean, and friendly. They accommodated me with no appointment, and I really appreciated that. One time I had an appointment and the second time I just took my mom without an appointment, and they were still able to show me around. It was just a quick visit, and they met my standards.

It was a nice place, but the room was much smaller than what my uncle needed. The staff was very friendly, and the place was very clean.

I liked it the best. It was a high rise with mountain views from the windows, and they seemed pretty good to me. They had studios and one-bedrooms. The dining room was good and elevators were speedy. It looked like it had lots of services and activities. The people seemed very nice. I didn’t try the meals, but they looked good. They also had a nice, little cafeteria or restaurant that served three meals a day.

The facility itself was fine. It was a little bit older. It didn't seem easier to maneuver in the facility. It didn't have an open concept. It was kind of closed, but there were a lot of people actively around on the first floor interacting and having some type of fellowship when I arrived. The view from the units wasn't very nice. It was away from any trees and greenery. However, the staff was very nice.

We love it. It is very clean and very nice. It is also in a really good location. My mom and my step father have a private room. It is not huge, but is it a good size for them. Mom says most of the meals are very good. The dining area is pretty and spacious. They have a bunch of activities like bingo, going to the casino, cooking classes, arts and crafts, and bible studies. The staff has been very accommodating.

We visited here. The presentation and their room were very nice. They had a new physical therapy unit and any of the clients could use it. I did like the therapy. However, I was kind of concerned because I asked about the caregivers and they say they had them on the property, but I never any of them.

Dining:
We serve three meals a day in our restaurant-style eatery, The Lemon Street Café. Our chef is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena and he creates meals that are tasty and well-presented. Our staff dietician ensures the menu provides optimal nutrition for our active guests.
Transportation:
Our van transports residents to medical appointments three days a week. On the other two days, we use it to shuttle groups to local casinos, shopping centers and churches, depending on the time of year and mood of the residents. Our downtown location makes transportation to most places quick and easy.
Housekeeping and Laundry:
Housekeeping staff clean the apartments once a week and do a deep-cleaning every 6 months, which includes a carpet shampoo. There are laundry machines on every floor for residents to use on their own, or we can take care of it. Just let us know what you would prefer!
Salon:
Our licensed cosmetologist runs a full-service salon. She is around most afternoons for a trim, a cut or a color. She can also do other services, like nails or make-up, upon request.
Care Staff:
We have caregivers on-site 24 hours a day to help residents with bathing, grooming, taking medications and eating. Our caregivers love their jobs and find fulfillment in meeting the needs of our residents. They go out of their way to make our residents feel comfortable, cared for and safe.
Each high-rise apartment has a balcony with an unblocked view of either the mountains to the west or Mt. Rubidou and the Mission Inn to the east. Apartments feature large closets, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower or a tub, emergency call buttons, and either a full kitchen or kitchenette. Each room is equipped with 48 channels of DirecTV. Apartments can be shared or independent.
