I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother stayed at Brandywine Living at Seaside Pointe for about six months and then she fell. Then she went into the nursing home, and then she went back again. Then we had to put her back in the nursing home again. It is an assisted living. It was a good experience. They kept me posted with everything. They were constantly giving me updates. Because of Covid, we couldn't visit her a lot, so they would constantly call me and tell me how she was doing. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. She was very happy there. It's beautiful and very fancy. They have activities. With Covid there was a lot of restrictions, so she couldn't get to do a lot of things. They were just starting to do things. That's when she had a bad fall and broke her ankle. They were just starting to let them out of their rooms to go do their activities. She could get her hair cut and her nails done. They had all kinds of things for them to do. It was really nice. They have a little happy hour they go to on Fridays. They have a social area where they have couches, and they can all visit. They have a little store they can go and buy things they need. It's almost like a fancy hotel. She participated in activities for a short time until they did the restrictions with Covid. They would bring things to her, come to her, and let her do drawings and make things. They had a lot of different activities for them. They would have arts and crafts. Covid kind of put everything on hold. She said the food was good.

Having to make the decision to place a loved one, in my case, my beloved husband, in any facility is heart breaking. My husband is in the Memory Care Unit. For both of us, we could not have found a more caring, loving and supportive place than Brandywine Living, Seaside Pointe. Every member of the staff is exceptionally qualified and give you the attention as if you are the only family that has a resident there. As much as I would love to name everyone, know that they are ALL very special. Every request is responded to expeditiously and courteously. They LISTEN and have taken care of my husband by getting to know who he is. What more can one ask for in such a difficult situation. The comfort we have been provided is immense. Thank you Thank you Thank you Brandywine Living, Seaside Pointe.

I visited this facility

Brandywine Living at Seaside Pointe was only about three miles from our house, so that was a big factor for us. The place was clean and the staff was very knowledgeable, very professional, very caring, and had demonstrated interest in us being there. The interview and tour took all the time we needed. There was no rush and we were very impressed with the personnel that we met. We looked at their sample menus too and they looked very good.

My mom went to live at Brandywine Living during Covid-19, which was very stressful on top of a very emotional time. The staffed was so supportive, to my mom and me, it made it much easier. The staff at Brandywine are very caring, respective, on top of everything that pertains to my mother's care. They always update me if there is any change in my mother's moods, or conditions. My mother always comments on how good the food is. How nice everyone is to her. How clean everything is. She told me she is very happy there. My mom suffers from Dementia. So, this made me very happy to hear. That she recognizes she's being well care for.I just want to Thank the Staff of Brandywine Living, for your tireless effort of taking care of our loved ones. You all are truly heroes to me and my family!! God bless you all, Kate S

Our mother has resided at Brandywine Living at Seaside Pointe, Rehoboth Beach, DE since October of 2018. The continuity of care and nurturing family environment is exemplary. From the Housekeeping Department, Building Maintenance Department, Administration and Nursing Department, and loving conscientious CNA team, our mother’s care has been an on-going partnership between family and facility. The facility and private quarters are immaculately clean and provide a comforting and nurturing environment for our mother. Our mother and family are always greeted and welcomed by personnel and residents, when walking down the family decorated corridors. Brandywine continually strives to ensure that residences’ every changing needs are met and monitors the continuity of services provided. We are extremely grateful for this gem of a Senior Living facility. To say facility, just does not convey the all-encompassing services provided by Brandywine Living at Seaside Point in Rehoboth Beach Delaware.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband and I found a new home for my mother-in-law Candy at Brandywine in Rehoboth Beach in 2011, three years after she moved in with us. At age 87 her progressive dementia was making it unsafe for her to remain at home, especially since we were still working out of state several days/week. In-home care was no longer viable, and we made the difficult decision to find her professional residential care. From our first meeting, Executive Director Donna W and Director of Community Relations Heidi M were supportive and helpful in assessing Candy’s needs and explaining how Brandywine could meet them. They provided information about her care, advice about long term financial payment and assured us that every caregiver would keep Candy safe and care for her physical and emotional needs. We found over time that residents were not left in their rooms on their own. In the Reflections Memory Care Unit residents are in the main living areas for a variety of stimulating activities, crafts, parties, musical presentations, dance parties and holiday celebrations. Reshell B, INVEST Coordinator expertly planned these events and assured all residents and their families had the opportunity to attend and be involved. Over the years we enjoyed many holiday meals with Candy in the beautiful dining room. Candy loved it all, had many friends among the residents and staff, and seemed very happy. Towards the end of her life we were not sure if she knew who we were, but it did not matter because she was smiling most of the time. Our weekly visits with her were truly quality time, and the decision to place her at Brandywine was absolutely the right one for our family. Candy peacefully passed away at Brandywine last week at the age of 95 after eight years of being lovingly cared for by the wonderful staff there. Her dementia became severe over time. The aides, nurses and activities staff were so tolerant of the sometimes agitated and obstinate behavior that people with progressive dementia exhibit (aide Katie Bell was especially good at this!). The staff were trained to handle these situations with respect and dignity. My husband and I visited at different times of the day, observed many staff interactions, and found consistent professional behavior every time we visited. The Brandywine staff became like family to us. On Candy’s last evening her nurse Bud Morgan was incredibly supportive and attentive to her and us as she passed. We will never forget his kindness that evening and the wonderful and loving care we witnessed for all eight years at Brandywine.

We found Brandywine Living for my mother, and we were very impressed with it. The rooms were very accommodating, she's got plenty of room, and I loved the courtyard view. It was very homey, we got it decorated with things that she wanted to put in there, and she has plenty of room. Everything was good, the staff seemed very caring to the residents, and we were impressed with the marketing director who presented the place to us. They talked directly to us, they answered all our questions, and they were very nice.

My family has had a wonderful experience with Brandywine Senior Living at Seaside Pointe. My uncle, who suffers from Alzheimer's, is being so well cared for there. My dear Aunt has spent the last couple years researching her options, worrying about every detail of his future. The staff at Brandywine, especially Heidi, have held her hand and made the transition as smooth as we could have possibly hoped for. Once he moved in, the only thing left for my Aunt to do was wonder how he was doing when she wasn't there...but Heidi has even helped her with that by communicating frequent updates on how well he is settling in. The staff has learned his habits so quickly and during visits it's been obvious that he is safe and cared about. My aunt has finally been able to relax after all these years.

I visited this facility

I visited Brandywine. The staff was very helpful. She spent a great deal of time taking me on a tour and discussing all the financial aspects. The place was really lovely. I thought it was really an upscale assisted living. The apartments were very nice. They were lovely. She showed me several rooms, and for an assisted living facility, it was nice. The dining room was very nice. They had a main dining room and a little bistro. It was the nicest one that I had seen in our area. They had activities, I thought they had a sing-a-long at one point, and there were several different activities. They had a bus that took them on outings and so on. It impressed me that it was clean and modern. The people were very pleasant. Everybody seemed to get along and know each other. I just liked it, and I was very impressed with it.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Both of my parents are residents at Brandywine in Rehoboth Beach. I love the fact that the staff at Brandywine will call you when changes are made or they notice something that may need attention. I also cannot help but notice that the employee turnover is little to none! My parents are surrounded with caregivers who have a gentle 'presence' in their lives, yet my parents are not overwhelmed with 'help' all day long. They can sign themselves out and are free to come and go as they see fit, or are able. Rides also are provided to appointments and shopping outings are regularly scheduled.... Just sign up! THe location is great for health care appts and rehabilitation. Dr. Alarcon and his nurse practitioner are in and out Of Brandywine regularly -- they know their patients needs and the staff reaches out to him for residents' needs and are very accessible. The nurses, the dining room staff, the CNA's, the kitchen staff, reception, even maintenance staff is very attentive. All residents need to do if a need arises, is just to ask! My parents health has stabilized and they have put on a little weight. Socially, there is a lot going on and available too! Music, exercise, lunch trips out, luau/pork roast, happy hour, hair salon appts, etc....even assistance with learning how to use the computer..... Do they live in a smaller space than what they're accustomed to?? Yes, but they are much safer and the daily social interaction with all the professional/friendly staff and other residents is priceless!!!

I visited this facility

My parents moved to Brandywine Senior Living at Seaside Pointe in August, 2012. My mom lives in the assisted living part of the building and my dad lives in the Reflections (memory impaired) area. If you are looking for a comfortable atmosphere, caring staff, plenty of activities for your loved one and 24 hour nursing - I highly recommend Seaside Pointe. They offer many levels of care depending on your loved one's needs. I can't say enough about the management staff and the entire team. They truly do treat each and every resident as if they were family. When you stop by to visit, you will see why "life is beautiful" at Brandywine Assisted Living at Seaside Pointe.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My father has been a resident of Brandywine since March 2014. My siblings and I had checked numerous facilities and settled on Brandywine for several reasons. First and foremost, the staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. The staff worked with my dad and his limited income and assured us that he would be a resident as long as he wanted. The staff says that they treat all of the residents like they are members of their own family. I have witnessed this with the level of care and service that my father receives on a daily basis. All of the staff I have seen appear to have a genuine passion for working with the elderly. Having visited my father several times a week, I have always found the staff to be friendly, outgoing, available and helpful to residents as well as family members. My dad enjoys the food that is served. He has commented that it is similar to eating in a restaurant. Family members and I have eaten with him on several occasions. All have found the food and service to be very good. My dad is in a private single room that is a good size for one person. His room is cleaned on a regular basis. The staff also provides a weekly laundry service that is included with the monthly fee. It is also worth mentioning that the facility common areas are kept very clean. There is also no foul odors in the building. There are plenty of and a variety of activities for residents to participate in. A monthly calendar listing all of the daily activities is provided to all residents. From the experience my family, father and I have had, I would highly recommend Brandywine at Seaside Pointe.

This facility has truly been a life saver for my mother, father, and our entire family. The staff has been helpful and caring, and made a stressful and difficult decision much easier to deal with. The facility involves my mother in daily activities such as ceramics, entertainers, day trips, etc. which helps her socialize with others. I would recommend this facility to anyone who has a family member diagnosed with dementia or alzheimers.

Brandywine is very lovely, and the people there were absolutely super. The marketing director, the receptionist, the people in general who worked there were great. Mother didn't get along well with the lady who was in the room with her, so she was only there a week. Mother would have stayed, but the only other room that they had was up on the second floor and she was afraid of elevators, so that didn't work out for her. If you had a TV, you would pay the cable company, the same way with the phones. The lifeline things that people get to wear around their necks in case they fall, you would pay extra for that there. The food was very good there. Mother raves about the food. They had a great chef. The rooms were nice; she shared a bath. They have their own activities. You never had any odor whatsoever. I must say that the hallways were lovely.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother has been living at Brandywine Assisted Living at Reheboth Beach for the last three months, and my experience with the facility so far has been nothing short of wonderful. The facility is very lovely, well-kept, and tidy and my mom has had not one complaint during her stay so far. More importantly, the staff at Brandywine is very accommodating, kind, and understanding of my mother's needs and very friendly to me and my family whenever we visit. They let us set up my mom's room to her liking and even volunteered to help. During my first visit to check the facility, I made it a point to check with the other residents what their experience at Brandywine had been like and found out that they were all very satisfied and happy with the level of care provided there. The facility provides fun activities for the residents to take part in, and most residents seem to gather in the huge common room to lounge, relax, and meet and talk with other residents. There is also a great courtyard, which my mom loves for walking. Overall, the level of satisfaction and happiness of the residents (including my mom) at this facility is very high, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an assisted living facility in the area.

I visited this facility

This facility is simply lovely. There is so much to experience. One thing that I would like to say is that I can tell that they truly value the residents, and make sure that they are always comfortable with their living arrangements. On top of a comfortably facility, it is also well kept and tidy. The staff are all well trained and seem to have a sense of caring for all the residents. There is a great courtyard for walking, and there is also a great common room for lounging and relaxing. The residents are all very friendly and seem to be open to socialization. i enjoy this place and am sure that more people will as well.
