I visited this facility

I toured the Holiday Mission Commons. It's very clean and nice. A few staff that we ran into were personable but the least of all it was a very large facility. For me and my sister, we both don't do well in large but it wasn't bad. If I'm in the facility, everything seems to be there that anyone would need. They were divided into two or three buildings. Not everyone was in the same building but there was still a very large facility. We passed the beauty salon, and they have an exercise room.

Holiday Mission Commons was large and had different levels of care. It had beautiful grounds and the outdoor areas were really pretty. They were renovating and that's good because it seemed a little older than some. I didn't see a lot of people hanging around, so that was a little concerning to me. The staff was really good.

We were impressed with Holiday Mission Commons. It certainly looked like a viable option. We were able to see two different units. The only downside is that they seem to have limited cooking facilities available. That was the only negative we detected. We had a very enjoyable lunch there. We were kind of impressed by the menu. On the day we were there, we were quite satisfied with what we had. I found nothing wrong with the community. We both felt we could certainly live there comfortably. With regards to cleanliness, there was nothing negative in that area.

The staff and the facility of Holiday Mission Commons were very nice. The people are very friendly. It has a very open dining area. They are going through some renovations, so I think it will be nicer when they're done with that. The assisted living room felt more like a hotel room instead of a homey feeling. The lady that toured me was very helpful. There was a salon, a gym, a Jacuzzi, and a backyard with a grassy area.

The apartments at Holiday Mission Commons were nice, but it just wasn't my mom's style. The staff who gave us the tour was nice and well-informed. We did not see any activity going on because the residents were having lunch at the time. The size of the 2-bedroom apartment was nice, but there was a lot of construction going on.

Provider Response

Steve, thank you for your compliments and feedback. The Executive Director would be happy to discuss the exciting upgrades that are coming to the community with you. Please reach out to the community or email me and we will put you in touch with her.

Holiday Mission Commons was very nice. The lady who gave the tour was very helpful. She gave us a list of other places that she thought would better suit us since they didn't meet our needs. Her name was Carla and she was very good. I enjoyed her. The rooms were beautiful, nice, and clean. They had a nice little patio to sit out. The dining room was also beautiful.

Holiday Mission Commons was a nice place. The general atmosphere of the place was very pleasant. The staff who assisted us during the tour was very nice, very respectful, very helpful, and showed us around. We were impressed and touched. We talked to a few residents and that was also very nice. They were very pleasant to talk to and they had positive things to say about the place. The cleanliness of the place was very good. I didn't see anything dirty or unclean. They showed us the dining area. They showed us a 1-bedroom apartment and it was quite a good-sized bedroom. They had all the amenities, like the washer and dryer and the refrigerator.

My father has moved into Holiday Mission Commons. They've got very friendly, knowledgeable, and very caring staff. I feel like he's in good hands and safe. He's only been there a little bit now, but he's happy with the food. He has a one-bedroom and it's very spacious, very clean, and there are lots of light, which I thought was important. The bathroom is a very good size for one person with a wheelchair, and very accessible. They have like a cafe setting, they have a common area where they have people come in and sing, and they have a jazz band come in, or they have movies that they show. It's a very comfortable setting for socializing. He seems to really enjoy them. He has a patio. He has his own personal space for outside. They have a lot of walking trails around the property. They have a van and they also have an SUV, so they can take large groups with wheelchairs, or they can just take individuals to shopping and to a doctor's appointment. They have the third-party care that's available, and they're very caring and highly trained.

There were activities going on when we visited Holiday Mission Commons and someone greeted me when I went in. The person was very friendly, very informative, gave me a great tour, and I got to ask a lot of questions. They also followed up with me. They had a beauty shop and a schedule of activities that would be interesting for a senior.

We had a good tour at Holiday Mission Commons. They showed us around and they were able to show us a model room, which was nice to see. They showed us the eating areas and it just happened to be lunchtime, so it was nice to see the residents and their energy level and them talking to each other. We sat down after we toured and we were able to ask questions. Some of the questions they weren't able to answer, so they had to take that back and get back to us later, but we had a good conversation. They had a nice outside grassy area and a patio. They said they had a spa but no one ever went in it. They said they had an exercise room, but it didn't get used very often. They mentioned they had shuttles. They had a common area with couches, a piano, and a TV, and we got to see that area.

I found Mission Commons for my brother, and he is moving in there. My father was there ten years ago, so I am very familiar with it. Everybody is upbeat. There's always nice music going on. They have all kinds of activities. Anybody that is working there, they are all pleasant, they all are very helpful. The rooms are adequate, especially for assisted living. They had just enough room for everything that was needed. It was just typical, with a big window, kitchenette, big-size bathroom, and closet that could hold most things. The dining area is beautiful, very upbeat, very open, and bright. It's very nice. Everything is always clean. It's in a beautiful area. The scenery around it, you see the mountains, very open and very bright inside. It's a nice setting for people. They have vans that will take anybody to the stores, to church, and they can always help people get to places. They have a lot of craft teams that are working with them, they go in for classes, make things, and keep pretty busy.

Mission Commons was very nice. I believe it was Cindy and Mary who did the tour, and they're very helpful and informative. The facility is very nice and very clean, but it's just a little bit too expensive for us right now. They have a lot of amenities and activities for the seniors like there are transportations and they take them on outings. There are things they can do, they have a nice library, a game room, an area where groups come in and they do sing-alongs which is very nice. They also have nice laundry facilities. And although all that is included in the rent, they still have them available for their tenants, which is nice. We didn't try the food but they provided us with a menu. The staff was very friendly, everybody was very friendly.

We have moved into Mission Commons. The apartment is very nice. When you move from a 2200-square foot home to a 950-square foot apartment, it is a downsize, but it's very comfortable. The staff members here are just absolutely great to work with. The food is very good. We have three meals a day, and I have very few complaints about the food whatsoever. We're making the transition and we've been here since May, but I can't think of anything negative about the place. They have a studio apartment, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom. Because of my wife's situation, we have not yet gotten involved with any of the activities. We have gone to the musical presentations, but they have movies, they have a fitness room, they have a group that plays cards, and they have an extensive library. They've never run out of books, that's for sure. They take people to the grocery store or the doctor's, but you have to set up an appointment, of course. I happen to drive, so I haven't looked into that. You can either park in the open or you could park under a carport. Every person we've dealt with on the staff has been very, very great to deal with. Whether it be the maintenance man, the waiters, and waitresses, the housekeepers, or the managers, they're all great.

I toured Mission Commons for my brother, and it was great. The lady that assisted me was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and I didn't see any problems at all. I didn't get the chance to eat, but I think it was lunch time, so it smelled good, and I love the menu they had on the wall. I saw one lady playing dominos, and another lady was just sitting watching them play the games, then there were several of them just walking around and talking to us.

The staff who assisted me during the tour was fabulous. The facility is very clean, well-kept, has beautiful grounds, and is very welcoming. They have a salon, a library, a gym, a hot tub, some community rooms, and one of them has a piano for performances. They have lots of activities scheduled that they set up in their common spaces.

My parents will be moving into Mission Commons. I've toured the place, and it was attractive, clean, and friendly. The first intake person was wonderful, very pleasant, and informative, and she took her time answering all of our questions. This is a two-bedroom unit because one of the people is blind and handicapped, so they have that available downstairs. It is very spacious and comfortable. We really love the room that they gave us. They usually have a cafeteria with meals and socializing, but right now they're bringing meals to their room. I did not get into any specifics, but I know they have social events out in the large, lovely foyer. For the men they also have ball games playing, like the Super Bowl and things like that. They have a beautician there on staff; I am not sure if that is open now, but they have that available, and that was really good for me to hear because that was one of the things I was looking for -- somebody there who could attend to that. They have transportation to appointments and to the grocery store. I liked the location because it is private, but it is still close to town. I don't know the job description of everybody I talked to, but I talked to five people, and each one has been very informative and helpful.

Mission Commons was very pleasant and very nice. It was a very nice place. Of the ones we looked at, it is the one we would prefer. It is the most expensive unfortunately, but it is in the location that we want. It looks like they have constant schedule of activities. Then they also provide regularly scheduled bus trips to various locations and there are some events too. The place is very clean. It is not the newest, but it is very well-maintained. The facilities looked great. The room we visited was very lovely. We talked to a couple of residents, and they were all very positive.

Mission Commons is a beautiful facility with spacious rooms. It's well kept up and well appointed. There's a refrigerator in every room. It's a single building, so it is easier to get around. They have very spacious outdoor areas. Each room has a separate balcony or patio. They have a pool, an exercise area, and areas for walking outside on the property.

I'm a resident of Mission Commons. It has been very nice here. However, the meals are a little bit close together, but trying to give three meals at a reasonable day is pretty tough. They have games and outings, go places, arrange shopping trips, and will take you to church or to the doctors. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. In the assisted living, they help with keeping up with your daily medications, laundry, showers, and will take your dog for a walk.

Mission Commons looks like a castle. It was so nice, and they even have a dog park. They have fast talking staff, and they don’t give me time to think, but they are very nice. The place is wonderful. It was clean, decent, and pretty. They have card games and a pool table; it's like going into a senior citizen recreation center because they have everything in there.

Mission Commons is very adequate in terms of what they provide with accommodations. The dining room and the food service are superior in many ways. The only problem I see is the lack of physical recreation. They have very little activities outside of the place like tours. They have activities within the place which appeal mostly to those who are wheelchair-bound or those who are not able to go out. My personal opinion is that there's too much of the assisted mixed in with the independent. I am in a very adequate 1-bedroom apartment which is very comfortable. The staff is very courteous and quite efficient.

I thought Mission Commons was a great institution. The rooms were nice, nicely kept, and spacious for me being in a wheelchair. All the people were very cordial and very attentive. They act like they are there for you and not just because they got to do the job. I thought the food was good. It was breathtaking for me. Other than the price, I would love to get into it, but the bottomline is money.

Mission Commons charge a $5,000 entrance fee, which I thought was outrageous for a three to four months' visit. They were unwilling to waive that. The rooms were tiny; a one-bedroom apartment was smaller than a studio in other places, and it had a bad layout. The food was average.

Mission Commons was very pleasant, well kept, and clean, and had activities for seniors. They had visiting concerts, and you can get your hair done there. They offer areas where you can cook little things, like cookies. They had a full schedule of activities. The grounds were OK, but there weren't a lot of outdoor activities because it was on a pretty busy street. My mother-in-law had lived there at one time, but she moved because another place had opened up that was cheaper. We thought it was quite nice.

I visited Mission Commons. Food was quite adequate. The problem I had was there was another table nearby where they were drinking wine and eating meat, and I got a little uncomfortable about that. They had a 200-square foot room available, which was not adequate for me at all. The room prices were too high too. I would say that Mission Commons was definitely a 5-star location. Mission Commons is a very nice, well-appointed community, and the staff seemed very friendly. It looked like it would be a good place for a parent. I saw a one-bedroom apartment, and it was very nice. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and anti-slip floors. They had emergency pull cords in all the rooms for when the person is in a situation and needs help. Something I thought was very intriguing was that all the electrical plugs were raised high off the floor, so they didn't have to bend way over to plug something in which I thought was really helpful.

I visited Mission Commons, but it kind of turned me off because everything was so much older. The furniture looked like pieces from here and there put together. All you had there were patients with Medicare, so people who really cannot afford a higher-end unit. They had a big backyard. The person who gave us the tour was nice. The building itself is nice. They can improve by updating their recreational, hobby, and exercise rooms. The main lobby was pretty decent, but if you start getting into little areas, that's where the big disappointment comes in.

Mission Commons has been very nice. They had patios and the food is super awesome, it’s my mom would like. The staff was nice. If you just need something, they will just press the button and someone will come. They have an emergency button. They have people that will come and try to see if the internet is working, but it’s not as much help as I thought it would be. The people there are nice. They have a menu but mom is a picky eater. She was totally there for like a month and she vent over and broke her hip and was in the hospital for two months. She does say that she will participate in activities.

My mom-in-law personally chose Mission Commons because they have units that you could rent with full kitchens including stoves, and refrigerators. She is not a candidate for assisted-living. She moved into the independent-living part where she has a full apartment. They provide her with limited services which is all she needs at this time. One of her reasons for choosing this facility is for the proximity to two of her children. The facility provides good meals. They have a transportation that takes them to church every Sunday, and shopping once a week. They have teas every afternoon, and social hours. Mom-in-law seems to be enjoying all of that.

I was able to visit Mission Common for my father-in-law. The condition of it, the facility, the menu, dining, rooms, and the location, everything is very, very good. I have no problems at all about it. I would say that their cleanliness is above average. The location is very convenient as it is close to downtown, so it's close to stores and restaurants and other facilities. It’s a good place. The staff who took time to accommodate me was very informative and also took time to go through all the details. She was very helpful. I was able to look at two units. The one bedroom unit was very satisfactory, but the studio unit, I think, it was very small. The price was reasonable though. The dining facility is very spacious. It's very clean and nice. I know they do have activities, but I wasn’t involved in discussing that.

I visited Mission Commons and it was a very nice place. The apartment units themselves were nicely decorated. The location is good, as it's near hospitals as well as other private medical services. It did not have a swimming pool and that was the downside. There is a tiny refrigerator in the rooms and it was very sparse -- it didn’t present very well. As I recall it’s one of the Holiday places and they did have some good features -- for instance, you were able to stay at one of their many other facilities. According to what they told us, you could stay in there for free for a week or so. After you are there for a while, you could be an in-house resident. I don’t know just what compensation you would receive, but they had other opportunities for the tenants.

Mission Commons met my basic requirements, which included the availability of a two-bedroom unit on the first floor. I had the added bonus of having an entrance on the side. The place is very, very nice, with very pleasant people -- especially the managers Julienne and Danny. They are very helpful and they are not just good managers -- they are caring people. There are a lot of activities, but I haven't settled in to attend any activities right now. I just like the managers, the people, and all that. We found Mission Commons for my dad. The main reason we chose it was because of the atmosphere. It's an independent/assisted living facility as supposed to a fully assisted side. This allowed him to feel like he was going into a community. It had an up-atmosphere for him. The facility is very clean too. The staff is excellent and attentive. They seemed to respond pretty well, and Dad is very pleased with the way the staff tends to him. His room is on the ground floor, and it looks out on a grass area, and we feel that we were really blessed to get him in there. The meals were OK. I can't say it's gourmet, but I can say it's sufficient. He seems to be OKwith it. They have activities, like they have church on Sunday, and they have activities throughout the week, and I think every day they have something going on.

We did a tour at Mission Commons and it was a very positive experience. It was for my mom and her friend, it was in their area. We're very impressed with the facility and the program that they have. The gal who took us around did a great job. There were two couples that lived there 24 hours a day. We only saw one 2 bedroom apartment because the others were being renovated. The one I really wanted to move in was Mission Commons in Redlands, but they are just so expensive. I did talk to the staff there and they told me that they will be lowering their prices by renting one apartment with two people. The studio apartment is small. They are doing a good job. Their director for assisted living is also very open to suggestions and implementing changes.

I visited this facility

We toured Mission Commons and we talked to them quite extensively. They even went over to the rehab center where my mother-in-law was before we even moved her and interviewed her and talked to her about the program. But we're not able to handle it financially to get them there. It was a wonderful place. It would have been my choice. It was great and a very nice complex. The staff is very friendly and they have social activities, too. I would have loved to put my in-laws there. But financially, it wasn't possible.
