My husband was a resident of Independence Court of Quakertown. I liked the activities and the aides were very nice. Most of them were great. They had lots of activities that were good. They have therapists coming in and they are also very good. The food, they have the same things over and over. The quality is not the best. Like there were no fresh fruits in season. No fresh vegetables like tomatoes in season. They have bingo. They have exercise classes. They bring entertainers in. They have happy hour every Wednesday at three with snacks, special things, and crafts. There's something for everybody and the new director there is terrific.

My mother moved into Independence Court of Quakertown. You're greeted as soon as you walk in by someone who is at the desk, and you see residents in the group living room area. The grounds seem to be well-maintained. The rooms are in good condition. This facility is a little bit older than some of the other ones I've seen, so it's not as modern and not as fancy. Mom said that the food is good. The admissions director is very good at getting back to you with any questions that you have or taking care of any requests that you have. In general, across the board, their staff is very responsive and there's good follow up. They have bingo pretty often. They have morning exercises, bird watching, travel-related things, and activities where they kind of reminisce about different things. They also have a variety of religious sessions.

My mother has been in Independence Court of Quakertown for a while now. She loves that place, and she was so happy to come back. The best thing about it was the way she was greeted by all the staff. The only drawback for her (being high functioning) is they tend to fill a lot of beds (if they have to fill them) with people that are closer to Alzheimer's patients, so that can be irritating. Taking that out of the equation, she loves the activities and the staff. They bend over backwards to help her. We couldn't be happier with the place. I would recommend it to anyone. They try to keep Alzheimer's patients separated. Every once in a while, someone with dementia is yelling (like last night). Those things happen from time to time. The staff cares so much. It's like they're family to the patients. A lot of them call her Mom, and she loves that. They will go out of their way for her. She was sick, and one staff went out to get her cough syrup on two of her breaks. The first time she couldn't find the brand she wanted. On her next break, she went out again and finally found it for her. They just go above and beyond. She doesn't always like the food, but she's very happy with the activities. There may be too much bingo, but she deals with it. They have live music, which she loves. They have groups come in. They have things in the summer, like having dogs and horses come out. They always have something interesting. They have hat day and dress up, and she enjoys all of the activities. They have a salon, an outdoor front porch, and an outdoor patio in the back, which is very nice with tables and sun umbrellas. They have flowers outside. Mom got a flower, and they planted it for her outside. They really go above and beyond. She's very happy to be there.

My husband didn't get assistance at Independence Court of Quakertown. He needed assistance with the shower, but he didn't get it. They didn't bother with him that much. I was the one that went in and helped him shower. I complained, but it didn't do any good. They said they didn't have enough staff, because of the pandemic so that's just the way it was. So, Independence Court of Quakertown was just not for my husband. He lived in a bedroom with his own bath. It's not an apartment, but it had its own closet. They had some therapists that would come in and work with him. Everything was on the same floor, but they had an elevator if they would go upstairs. They have program up there on the second floor on special occasions and entertainment. My husband didn't complain about the food. He ate and liked it. They were not just on top of things.

My mom is in Independence Court of Quakertown Assisted Living. It's a very quaint facility, very cheerful, and it's maintained very well. It fits into the general neighborhood and setting. It's a nice place. The staff is very professional and very caring. They welcome family members, they're friendly, and they answer your questions, and they seem to do a very good job with, you know, their residents. They have all kinds of activities, the usual things, bingo and chair yoga, and movie nights. And then they have special activities where they bring in local people to play music for them. I had eaten there once, and it was fine. And she says it's good, and she has no complaints about the food.
