I stayed at Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House for four weeks. I like the meals. They were nicely served. The food was good. The staff members were attentive, but they were not too plentiful. They had bingo and Bible study. They had reading and jigsaw puzzles available. I chose a small room, and it was satisfactory. They had a salon and a courtyard. Portsmouth is rather small, so everything is nearby. The upkeep was satisfactory. The cleanliness was good.

Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House is my least favorite of everything I've seen. It was expensive. It was not as updated as some of the others for the price point that they gave. The staff seemed to be okay; I didn't have a problem with them. Compared to others, they weren't as outgoing or friendly as the others. The room looked okay. The staff who toured me was nice. He was good. They serve three meals a day.

I was very impressed with what Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House had to offer. When we went there, they knew we were coming, and they had everything together and all the paperwork and stuff to give us right then and there. It was very, very well organized. It was well-kept. They were all very friendly.

My father has moved into Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House. Their staff has been very wonderful. They've been doing a great job. They have activities for them. They have a lady that comes in and talks, like a Bible study, and then they have another person that came in just to have a conversation. They have an activities room and a dining room. The most important thing is that he has his own bedroom, and he likes that a lot so. In terms of value for money, it's a little expensive. I appreciate that they went out of their way to take care of my father and provide them transportation to dialysis; to us, that was the number one thing.

Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House is very caring and loving towards all of their residents. My husband has a private room and it's kind of on the small side. Food is good and the dining area is nice and clean. The atmosphere is very upbeat. They have bingo, devotion, chair yoga, scripture learning, sing alongs, wine tasting, and all sorts of things. They have a lot going on there.

The tour I had at Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House was very good and very informative. It's a small community with only about 80 residents. You get to bring your own furniture and decorate the rooms if you choose to. So, it would feel more like home. The person who gave me a tour was very nice and seemed to have a heart for the community and the best interests of the residents. They treated all of them as if they were their parents/grandparents. They were under renovation. The rooms looked OK, but some of the corridors and all looked like it could use some fresh paint. The staff person said they had the carpets cleaned every so often or monthly or weekly or something, but I think they could do a lot better than that. The dining area was small, but I think it accommodated the number of residents they have. They also had a TV room, a garden area, and a little a sunroom area.
