My husband was at Laurel Place. The staff was fine. It was just extremely limited for my husband's needs. I've been there several times because he was there for a month or so. There weren't many activities, which was the problem. They didn't have an activities director at the time. I think they did try to do some activities, but it wasn't the same. And there was no place to walk for somebody like my husband who was always on the move. The room was exceptional though, and it was even way more space than he needed. However, for them to improve, they need more structured activity time and more time engaging.

We just recently moved my mom into Laurel Place. Upon our initial visit, the staff were all so caring and understanding. The facility is kept clean, the food is delivered by the chef and is hot and tasty. My mom has been there just a week and says it already feels like home. Knowing she feels that way, and is being looked out for and cared for allows me to have peace of mind. Thank you Laurel Place.

Laurel Place was very nice. It had more wallpaper, and the décor was homier as opposed to feeling like a hotel. I know they had a little pool room for the gentlemen, a library area, a TV room, and a nice big dining room. The staff that I met was very helpful and very friendly.

Everybody's real nice, and they're taking good care of my grandfather. His apartment has a big bathroom. The food could be better, and that's one of the things he complains about. He eats so much fish. He wears a diaper, and they need to change that a little more often. Laurel Park is a good place, and he has been there for three years now.

I think Laurel Park is short staffed. My dad also complains that all they serve is chicken and fish. He has been there for two years. It is very clean except for his bath from which he is the one who makes a mess out of it. He has a good-sized apartment. There is a room for a table if you want one. There is also a little sink, a microwave, and a little refrigerator which he does not use. He is 99 years old. He has a nice, big shower and plenty of closet space. They will come in and clean once a week, but he needs somebody to come in there and clean the bathroom every day. They have activities like bingo, cards, arts, and exercise programs. They also go out to places like Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, and shopping. He refuses to go to any of those. They have a water view from one side of the building and a mountain view from the other side. The grass is always nice and neat. They have plants around. It is a pretty place. It is all well kept on the outside.

The changes at Laurel place over the last year have been astonishing. My mom has been there for a couple years now and the staff and residents just seem so much happier. The food is excellent, my mom hardly ever has a bad thing to say about that! There are great activities with a fun outgoing activity director but the thing I think that has most improved is over feel of the building, it more fun and lively and the passion shows from all staff members. I wouldn't have my mom any where else!
