Solstice Senior Living at Plano was nice. The tour went well. They have a lot of things for the people to do. I enjoyed it. They had things scheduled for the people to participate. So, it was pretty good. Everything was nice. It's very spacious. I saw the people that were sitting around, but that's not something I'm looking for. The lady that gave me the tour was very nice. I made an appointment with her and she showed me everything, and walked me around. She recognized me and I told her I was a veteran. So, that was pretty good. She says they have quite a few veterans there. She was very polite. They serve meals.

Solstice Senior Living at Plano only has independent living. There are no other types of residents available, which is different from some facilities. It's a two-story building and has a pleasant look and feel to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer three meals a day that are included in the base rent. They have a full-time activities director and they do various types of classes, some of which are daily, some are weekly. They have a weekly outing, like a lunchtime trip, for all who want to go. They go to different places, not just the same one each time, like shopping spots. They have a business area with computers for residents to use, but the feature that was important to us is that some of the units have either a private patio on the first floor or a balcony on the second floor. So, they are probably one of the most cost-effective communities offering the types of services and amenities that I described.

We got my mom moved into Solstice Senior Living at Plano last week, so everything worked out well. Right now, we've been helping her make sure everything was set up. It's an accessible apartment, she just needed a couple of things for her own personal needs. It's independent living but they do have a home health care agency that is located in that building for her use if she needs it. The grounds are very well kept. The building has been renovated. Everything is very clean and accessible to my mom. The marketing person and the executive director were very helpful. They worked to make sure that the apartment that we had chosen for my mom was off the market so that my mother can move in at her convenience. We can eat with my mom if we let them know in advance and there's a fee. But my mom goes down three times a day and has breakfast, lunch, and dinner and as per her, the food is excellent. When we originally went to tour the building, they were doing crafts, and then when I brought my mom in the following day when I walked her down, she was greeted by everybody, and they were having an ice cream social. I have seen them doing Bible study. My mom hasn't participated yet, but they do keep a printed daily calendar for the residents to get to decide on what activities they want to participate in daily. My mom has an efficiency apartment, it's the perfect size for her. It has been completely renovated. There's already handicapped accessibility in the room, which is what my mom needs. Everything is perfect. As far as I'm concerned, everything looks quality, and all the amenities that are included in her rent are keeping it affordable for her. There's a definite improvement as far as the updating, and overall, it's a wonderful place. She has only participated in the ice cream social, but from what I'm hearing as I'm meeting the other residents and from the printout, they keep them busy seven days a week. They have all kinds of activities. For everything included in her monthly rent and the discounts that they gave her to move in, I would rate the value for money a 5.

My brother is at Solstice Senior Living at Plano. I know he loves living there, and he's having a very good time. He likes being there because of the community, the activities, and the congeniality of the staff. He was in a private residence before, so he likes just being with the other residents and being able to interact with them. He also likes the fact that they they've arranged for Catholic deacons to come in on Saturday and hold religious services. I think I spoke to the director once. I had other family members who went over and saw him. I was just a contact person. I'm the one who arranged everything through caring.com. It's a good place. I have seen the outside, and it is very lovely and very well kept. My sister said that the inside was very clean and very well maintained. The staff was very open and honest, and it just seemed to be a very well-run property.

Solstice Senior Living at Plano was very good. The administrator was nice and I liked the facility. She was very nice, answered all my questions, and was extremely helpful. It's a nice facility, but it's on the old side. It's probably over 20 years old but they are upgrading some of their landscaping. They also had some damage from the recent cold spell. They had pipes issues and they had fire alarms that had gone off, but they were fixing that all up. It's in a nice residential neighborhood. They were the best of the places I visited and I'm very pleased with the amenities. They have three meals a day, seven days a week, activities, cable, internet, and weekly house cleaning. They included bath towels and linens laundry too, so that's wonderful.

I visited Solstice Senior Living at Plano in person. They showed us both the rooms and dining area. It was just a typical dining area with tables and chairs, and there are chandeliers hanging down. It was clean, bright, they had nice windows that lets sunshine in, and you can see out. They had nice landscaping. The rooms were clean, open, easy, and accessible to walk with any type of apparatus. I loved the rooms. I actually walked into one and said that it's the one I would like. They're just very accessible for a handicapped person.

We chose Solstice Senior Living at Plano for my parents because it's a smaller community and because the price was more affordable than others. The staff has been very responsive.

Solstice Senior Living at Plano was a very nice place. The price was a little bit more for us, but they were going to get an apartment. It could stand a little bit of updating, but that would depend on everybody's need or take. It seemed like a nice place, they offered some nice amenities, and the marketing person I talked to was very nice and friendly. I didn't like that the dining area was open, so they could see people eating, and it didn't give me a more intimate and closed-in feel. It was like they're all out and exposed. They have games, a gym, a room with a couple of gym equipment in it that she said they're going to update, but she didn't talk about somebody in there that could assist them. I didn't like that part because an elderly person can get in there and hurt himself if they didn't have somebody to show them, and I was surprised that some of the things are up on the second floor. They go and take you to the store, and to the banks a couple of times a week, so that was good. The rooms were nice, large size, and that was nice. I wish it was more colorful, but it's winter, and it's hard to say.

While there is new management, they are still trying to figure out how to run the place. When they are short-staffed in the dining room, they have the maintenance man serving food. Since the building is older, there are lots of problems. When I was there about 2 weeks ago, there was a leak from the kitchen. It flooded the hall to the resident's rooms.

I went to Solstice. I like the rooms better. It might be a little bit older as far as the construction, but I like the ones on the first floor where you have a patio. I saw the staff people at work, and they seemed to be very congenial with the people who live there. It was a very friendly attitude.

My friend moved into Solstice at Plano, and it meets all her needs. They're doing a lot of remodeling so it's going to be even nicer. The staff and the services are good, and she told me that the food is good. A lot is going on, they're replacing flooring, lighting, and upgrading. They had a luau yesterday, and there are activities during the week. They let her keep her cat. When it comes to cost, it's too high, but that goes for all these senior places.

We didn't really like it. The rooms were a little older-looking and smaller compared to the other places I've seen. They didn't have a full-sized kitchen, just a microwave.

The staff was very nice and friendly. I was not impressed with their fitness center since it only had four machines, including a treadmill, no weights or a pool. They provided all utilities and meals, and they allowed pets. They only had basic cable, but you still get cable. The food was OK, but a little like institution food. It was clean. Every room was a multi-room, clean but small, and had a pool table in the middle of the floor, which doesn’t seem to be very accommodating.

It was a little older, but the staff was great, and the representative that took us around seemed a lot of fun. We had lunch there, they had a nice and large dining area, and the food was wonderful. They could improve on the color of the rooms to make it a bit brighter. One group of ladies was getting ready to play a game and invited me to play.

My mother is in Cottonwood Estates. They have been a very friendly and helpful staff. The residents seem very happy and well taken care of. She is in a private room, which is mainly a small apartment with her own bathroom, kitchenette, and patio. It's very well taken care of since they clean it, change the sheets, and provide towels once a week. They have lots of activities.

She is living here which is an independent living facility. They went above and beyond trying to keep the residents involved and that was very nice. The staff is very nice and helpful. Their rooms are very nice and spacious. They have a nice big dining room that everybody eats together and the food is pretty good. They do have lots of activities too.

We ended up putting my mom here. I like friendliness and the care that she is getting there. Their apartments are beautiful. They are so perfect for her. It's a large studio, and it has so much room. We've eaten there a couple of times, and it's delicious and very well prepared.

I had a tour and I like it, but it didn't have the full kitchen. Although the place is not new, but I liked it. I like its layout. They have a very nice floor plan. They also have a very nice patio. They have access to trail for the residents to walk and it's a really nice place to live. They have a calendar of activities going on. I talked to one staff and he was really very nice and informative.
