I visited American House Cedarlake many times when I saw parishioners, and it was lovely, clean, and very safe. It's a lovely place to visit, and I'm sure a lovely place to stay. What I like best about it is that it is bright and airy, and the least, I thought the signage could be better. Now, they were doing a lot of construction back there. Maybe that's why their signage was poor, but it took me a couple of spins around to figure out where the actual door was so that would be the worst part of the visit. When I was visiting parishioners, the staff seemed to be attentive to the residents there. I would say the care was nice. It was competent and it was pleasant for the patients, and for the residents. I thought it was good care. It's pretty superficial because it's not 3:00 in the morning when not enough staff is on. But that's what I saw when I went there. It's regular nursing hours. The facility was neat, clean, and airy, with very nice colors, and just a lot of wide open spaces.

American House Cedarlake was very good. My mother-in-law was there for five days and then she had to go into the hospital. It was very clean and very nice. They had a lot of activities. The rooms were beautiful like an apartment. They have assisted and independent living. They don't have memory care, so that's why when she came out of the hospital, she didn't go back there. She went to another place. The staff were very nice. They did their job very well. The food was pretty good. My mother-in-law did not do any of the activities, but they had bingo and different things like that. Their activities looked fun.

My sister will be moving into American House Cedarlake. It was extremely clean. The rooms were exceptionally nice. It's not huge, but it's doable. I met several people there, talked with some of the residents, and talked with some of the staff, everyone was extremely kind and pleasant. I think the overall cleanliness of the place is what impressed me. It was just very open and very, very clean, so that was probably what did it for me, and then secondary was the price because the price was a big option for us. We had to stay within a budget and this facility came underneath the budget for me, so it worked out very well. We took my sister for a tour, and we were invited for a lunch, so we partook in the food, and it was good. We had a sit-down luncheon of soup, salad, main entree, and dessert, and it was all very, very good. There were choices on the menu. All of us enjoyed it, so that was good, too. Everything that they have done, they have worked with me hand-in-hand to get this done, to get my sister in there, to get the price that I needed, the encouragement that I needed, and any assistance that I wanted. Everybody was fabulous.

We toured American House Cedarlake looking for independent living for myself and my husband followed up by possible care for my friend. I think we spent more time at the assisted living side because we were shown all the different things that they do there, all the meals that were served, and the fact that there was medical attention in the place. My friend needs that stuff more at this point than my husband or I do. The facility is very nice, clean, and welcoming. The studio apartment we saw was extremely small but the 1-bedroom is doable. We didn't go into a 2-bedroom. The person who assisted us was excellent. She explained everything more than we could even think about asking. The dining area was very large. There were several people there because we were there at lunchtime and everyone seemed to be very pleased with what they were eating. We didn't see any activities but we were shown different rooms where people would do different things. There were machines that you could use and rooms to play bingo or whatever.

We were very impressed with American House Cedarlake. We were hoping that's where my mother-in-law was going to go. We met with the director and she showed us all the different apartments. She took a lot of time with us and we talked about my mother-in-law having some problems walking. She took into account that my mother-in-law would have some mobility issues and was looking for an apartment closer to an elevator, so I thought they were very caring and listened to what you had to say, and work with you. The apartments were very nice. We saw an efficiency studio type thing to a two-bedroom. She showed us all of it. They had washers and dryers in the unit. She showed us there was a little recreation area on each floor. It was well appointed to keep them engaged. When we got there the first time we visited, they were playing bingo, and we saw an area where they were putting together a puzzle. There was a lot of interaction with the residents there. They were very accommodating to us.

We loved American House Cedarlake. It was wonderful. We're very satisfied with that. It was excellent. It was something we were not expecting. The size of the apartments was wonderful. They have underground parking, so we were very pleased with that. It was just very nice, and it seemed very pleasant. We liked the two meals a day and we could bring our cat, so that was a big one. There's a lake behind it with walking paths, so it's very nice. The staff were wonderful. They're welcoming, and they answered all of our questions. We enjoyed that. The facility is outstanding.
