I visited this facility

I looked at Sodalis Pensacola. The tour was great. The staff member who toured me, Holly was her name, and she really had a close connection with all the residents. She was their director of getting them to do things. They all seemed to like her. They were waiting on her while she was taking me around. They were getting ready to have a bingo game. It felt kind of homey. It was under construction, and they're supposed to finish in about a week. But the thing I didn't get is that their finance person wasn't there, so I didn't get any information on costs and requirements.

We toured this facility for my father with dementia and were very pleased with what we saw. They are remodeling the building right now, but they were still doing activities and enjoying themselves. We were pleased with what we saw. The staff seems to truly care for the people that live there.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother-in-law and his wife are in Sodalis Pensacola. We got there and they let us in and then I went over to the desk and the staff said, "You don't have to check in or anything. They're in the community room." We went in there and I never did see anybody come through to check and make sure that everybody was doing OK. They didn't check my brother-in-law and his wife. I feel like they should have come through and said, "Hello? Is everybody OK?" My sister-in-law was freezing to death and I went and got her a throw out of my truck because she was cold, both of them were. They were doing nothing and I asked my brother-in-law, "Do you do physical therapy?" and he said no. Evidently, they sit there in their wheelchairs and maybe on the weekends, when company comes in, the company goes and gets them and wheels them down to the community room so they can visit with people. I was not impressed at all. The place did not smell good. It wasn't that clean, in my opinion. It could be better. The only one we saw was the woman at the desk. There was no other staff anywhere to be seen. Their room is small, not somewhere I would want to be. My brother-in-law's son brought him in a really small refrigerator and a small television. About a week and a half ago, I heard from their daughter that the wife fell during the night. The family has a webcam there in the room and she's the one that caught it. She called the facility and they didn't know anything about it until she called them and they went down and checked on them. It leaves a lot to be desired. You put out all that money and nobody bothers to watch after you. We spent an hour over there and I never saw anybody other than that one woman at the desk and she didn't get from behind the desk. I saw the dining area, but I was not impressed. It was just an eating area with tables and chairs. I didn't see any activities going on. They could have the staff check on the residents more. It could use some upkeep.

I went to Sodalis Pensacola and it felt like home and they took good care of me. The activity director gave me a tour of the whole place. She was just amazing. She loves her job, she interacts with all of the patients and lets them help with activities and things like that. The staff just care about their job and they were happy. They didn't mind helping me. It was great. She did say that if we ever had a loved one to stay there, they can have two free meals a month with their loved one. If your loved one is scared and upset one day, you can come to spend the night with them and they won't charge you. They look out for you. They had a grand piano and I'm a pianist at church, and they let me sit down and play. They brought all the residents out and we sang and played. We had the best time. They just really know how to go over and above to make you feel like you're at home. The place was amazing. It's near a hospital and a bunch of restaurants. It's convenient.

We had a very good tour at Sodalis Pensacola, and everything looks pretty good there. You could start on one level and move very easily to the next level without much difficulty. The residents were all having a good time. They showed us all of their room types, but the interest I would have would be a studio. They all looked good. The activities director was very enthusiastic. They did a lot of activities. They showed us a calendar, and it was full of it. They go downtown and to restaurants one day a week and that kind of thing.

I had an in-person tour of Sodalis Pensacola. It was a great overall experience. I like the community because they have done a lot of updating, refurbishing, and sprucing up the rooms and stuff. The staff was very good and very informative. Also, the social director was good. They have a lot of activities, which I like. They have parties. They take the residents out, like once or twice a month. It appears like they really try to engage with the residents. They are still doing some work, but overall, the facility looks OK. The grounds were really nice. I like that they have planted tomatoes and stuff. I like it because it's on one floor.

Pensacola has done very well with my family member. I was happy with the moving in process. It was quick and easy. The staff were up to help at any time. We have been very happy with the services they provided.

GIVE MY MOTHER HER CLOTHES BACK YOU HORRIBLE PEOPLE. I don't understand why you even had her clothes because we did her laundry. You were dishonest in the information you provided prior to admission, and you were dishonest, unprofessional, and unethical throughout her stay. You should be shut down. If we had not been up there as often as we were we would not have realized just how unsafe this place was.

My mother is at the memory care section of Sodalis Pensacola. They've recently been purchased and have made many changes to the place. They kept a lot of the old staff, and that helped because consistency is a key thing with older patients. They have good food. Right now, the place is being renovated. My mother's got a brand brand new renovation room, it's a nice size there. They're good-sized, they have a bathroom, and they're a studio, single-tenant. They do activities, like last week when we were there, they had a luau for the residents, and a brunch set up for the family at the end of the month. So the family could come in and eat with the residents there. You could do that at any time, but this was a special setup they do once a month. In terms of value for money, it's standard. To me, they're all expensive, but for the money, it's pretty good value. They have a courtyard for assisted living and a separate courtyard for the memory care people. They can go outside and walk, and they're secure so you don't have to worry about them wandering off.

Sodalis Pensacola was very good. It's something that I will consider. Unfortunately, they had no clue we were coming, so their financial person was not there. I was not able to get any financial information because they were not expecting us, but they were very accommodating. They took us on a tour of everything. It was very nice and very well kept. I was very impressed with what I saw. It's a very comfortable place. I just got to call back to find out on the financial end what we're looking at. I saw both assisted living and memory care. The staff during the tour was very accommodating and very knowledgeable of the facility. They had a courtyard.

Sodalis Pensacola was the facility we decided on, and my mother is there now. It's as positive as it could be. They actually worked with the doctor to get everything that they needed to admit her, so that was convenient. I had a really good feeling about the location. I wouldn't have trusted them with my family member if I hadn't. All in all, it was as positive an experience as it could be. The staff were great. They were really nice and really engaging. I really got the impression that they care, and they were engaged with the residents. I've seen her playing bingo, I've seen her with a virtual reality headset on her face, and I've seen her play the piano there. As she's adjusting more and more, she's taking part in more and more of the activities that they have for her, which is nice. I'm pretty happy with the value for money, too.

I toured Elmcroft of Pensacola. It was clean, well-organized, they had caring people who friendly, smiled, and were careful. They took my temperature before they let me come in, and asked me questions about my whereabouts. I appreciated that, that they were concerned about the well-being of their people. They showed me a small room, but it was neat, clean, and ready to use. They're my second choice and I liked them.

My mother is in Elmcroft of Pensacola. It's always clean, the staff is very pleasant, I haven't had any problems, and I'm glad. I usually go with her to lunch or dinner, and they always provided adequate meals for them. They have daily games like bingo, jingo, they go on field trips, have wine and cheese nights, movie nights, and she's always busy. She has a studio apartment, the bathroom is large, the closet is large, and they're renovating, so my mom's room is pretty new.

They told us about all of the programs, and we actually had mom in respite care for about two weeks. It’s big, nice, and comfortable, but sometimes there was a little bit of a problem finding staff. They seemed to do a good job in taking care of my mother. It wasn’t perfect for us as there were things about it that I wish were a little different. The apartment that she has was very nice and clean. The location is terribly inconvenient for me as it’s 45 minute drive, and when I go to visit her, it takes me about 2 to 3 hours to do a round trip. The grounds were fine and large which to me when you’re dealing with somebody with memory care would be difficult. She sometimes had trouble finding her room, and also they locked the doors. She would have trouble because when she did find her room, she couldn’t get in. Even if they gave her a key and they had it on her wrist, she didn’t know what to do with it.

I liked everything about this community, and this was my first choice. The presentation was excellent, but the problem was they do not take Medicaid. Everything was fantastic, but they don’t take Medicaid, and I need additional financial aid for mother. This one was homier, and more one-on-one with the staff and the residents. The number of residents in their memory care was really low. They had at least 15 or 20 people actually staying there.

It was clean, but it had a little bit of that old building smell to it. The people seemed to be actively engaged in doing different things, and they had a lot of activities. I liked how personalized it was; they allowed the people to set up their rooms, and I liked all that. They seemed to have more things going on with the people who lived there than the others. The staff was very nice.

I would recommend it to everybody, especially to people with dementia. There have been no incidents, and everything is excellent. The atmosphere is more homey. I feel comfortable here.

I give her an A++. I found the rooms to be spacious. The helpers were very attentive. The food was good, and the dining staff was very kind. Everything was not perfect, but it was very good.

The major feature of this place was that it was just a very large U-shaped building and there was no separation of the clients. It was just one gigantic building and the people weren't in separate groupings. Regarding accommodations, they had their residents in their individual rooms. Everybody had their individual room. They had some activities similar to the other facility, but I didn't go into that much detail because I got turned off by the layout of the building. If they could improve on something, it would be to change their physical structure. The staff though seemed to be fine.

It is a fantastic place. It’s top of the line and a beautiful place. She had a one-on-one nurse with her all the time. They did respite care for us. That is one of the nicest places I’ve ever been in, and my mom had the best care ever. My mom has Alzheimer's and is completely incontinent, but that place smells so good. The whole facility is a locked facility; you have to have a code to get into the general area, and someone has to buzz you into the memory care. They have activities for the residents like baking, Bible class, and a little arts and crafts. They have a beautiful dining room in the regular area and a grand piano in the lobby where someone plays every so often.

My mom is a resident here. The facility is very clean. I would give the staff, the amenities, and the rooms all 4 stars. There were a couple of things that I wasn't really happy about, but they're pretty good about accommodating everything. The staff that works on a daily basis are really friendly and really helpful. They seem like they really care a lot and are involved with my mother's well-being. I would give them high marks on that. It seems like they try to organize activities really well with their residents. They always have something for them to do. They also have their own bus that takes residents shopping or out to eat, which is good. The only small complaint was that my mom complained about the food. Other than that, they're very good and it works out pretty good. I would recommend them to others.

This was my first time visiting an assisted living out of town and I had a pretty good experience. The staff was very friendly and they were taking really good care of all the patients. It was kind of a smaller facility so they knew each patient on a personal level. The interior of the facility was nice and clean, when I arrived some of the patients were having their dinner. I was able to go inside my friend's uncle room and, him and his roommmate had a pretty nice set-up room. The rooms were suitable and very accommodating. It was quiet and peaceful, I can tell that the patients enjoyed living there. Some rooms had been double while others were singles. Some of the patients kept their doors open and others closed them. I really don't have any negative things to report about this facility. Overall, my experience was a good one, I just didn't like seeing the sick patients. I had gotten kind of sad looking at my friend's uncle but I know he was in good care.
